I like what you showed with the 50cal against a scorched beast. that is one of the enemies I use my 50cal on but up until now I only been able to use it is short burst while in vats because outside of vats almost imposable to hit. about the only weapons I been able to hit a scorched beast with when it is flying is a missile launcher with aiming computer or the 50cal in vats.
MG42 LMG deserved to be like 10-8 AP cost because .50 and Gatling still outclasses it, even with LMG's overall DPS. Gat.Plasma getting mods is good, but both .50 and LMG deserved some mods too like the crit or AA receivers. (TBH we still need a smaller 30-round mag for AP redux or faster reload or even better receivers for the Thompson SMG and derivatives).

I hope they get rid of or at least greatly reduce the fusion core drain of vats. It really doesn’t make sense to me gameplay and balance wise or logically that it’s so high, a pip boy can power it indefinitely but a fusion core that can power things for hundreds of years is spent on vats in seconds and still uses AP, and the perks like power user still don’t do nearly enough to make the drain viable without it being a pain. It would make PA vats builds way more viable
Nah. I disagree. You’re already insanely tanky and now you’re able to do insane damage like a non-PA bloodied crit build. There’s gotta be some drawback, some cost. Fusion cores being expensive and the necessity of the fusion core duration perk in the crowded intelligence perk tree is a subtle but effective way to balance this.
@@Momofukudoodoowindu Drawbacks: no unyielding (which is like 6 separate drawbacks if low health with how OP unyielding is and vats still won’t be as good without harder methods since luck and perception are difficult to get up), harder to get, can’t craft or repair or sleep or many other things without long exit and reenter animations, no backpack so less carry weight and even excavator+2x calibrated shocks doesn’t beat high capacity backpack+unyeilding, having to give up the chest mod slot for the equivalent of serendipity for low health survivability, and fusion core drain for other things still especially jetpack. You can easily go through a bunch cores in a fight even with max power user, I’ve used over a dozen in a single fight before without power user which would still be half of that with it. I could see making it so power user has an added effect of reducing or removing vats core usage even more than the usual effect, but even then it’s pretty insane that it costs so much without it. IK you can farm them very easily but it’s annoying to have to and they are very heavy so carrying so many necessitates 3* batteries included too regardless of weapons used. Also the only bonuses that PA gives that are noteworthy are power attack damage bonus which is much less final damage than unyeilding can give, stabilized which is just for a specific class of weapons with alternatives and with new changes will probably be better overall out of pa factoring in QoL because of unyeilding crits, and the tankiness that really is just QoL in the current game and rarely matters, everything is soloable even with a low health non-PA build. I’ve been running 50c25 on heavy guns for a year now. When I started collecting people was asking why! And that I’m crazy… look who laughing now 😂 the only reason I started collecting 50c25 heavy guns was because there’s a magazine that increases vats critical to 100% for heavy weapons which at the time didn’t make sense due to how high ap cost was on a lot of them but after waiting for so long it’s all coming together.
I always thought of the gatling plasma as a boss weapon. The ap reduction is nice, but that spin up on it makes it too annoying for anything other than a boss. Having to start and stop the spin up constantly for regular enemies is not worth the time.
you say you use a lot of fusion cores. what has helped me is when I get down to less that 1/4 of a charge I find a safe place get out of my power armor and then remove the used fusion core and replace it with a full core. then when I get back to my camp I put the used cores in my charger and take out the fully charged cores. that way I never run out of cores and I always have fully charged cores in my inventory

These current changes will make heavy class the best class by a big margin. Just think The new power armor when you have the whole set gives you a 25% AP regeneration bonus take company tea with that and you're looking at another 20% AP regeneration. What will make heavy guns so much more powerful than all the rest is that they just don't have to reload very often so you use VATS for a few seconds with critical hits then go to free aim for two and a half seconds and your AP bars regened continue Vats crits and repeat. The heavies are just going to be able to out DPS every single class now by a landslide and there'll be no point to use any other class so everyone's going to use heavies now. And I think personally for gameplay purposes that's boring seeing everyone use the same option and you know everyone will. Happened with the railway rifle.

@@hermos3602 The shredder was hit the hardest with the AP drain increase. It was a one trick pony not worth the hassle. It might be again if B lightens up on the drain.
Still very viable, I never stopped using mine. 2 optimized bracers arm mod or w/e it’s called for PA cuts the drain in half and makes it go a very long time, and using coffee or other ap regen can easily keep it going as long as you want. Out of PA it’s a bit harder to keep AP but coffee can still compensate, UNY armor gives a lot of damage, and it’s really meant for PA anyway so you’re pushing it by choice then. That said, the damage nerfs have hit it hard especially with the auto melee buffs so there’s much better options for the same thing (in my testing with most conditions equal, auto axe does about 60% more or 1.6x damage as shredder and better armor penetration so it scales better with higher armor enemies like bosses, but it’s really not needed or even noticeable usually and axe requires more perks and repair kits). Shredder can still can solo bosses and unlike auto axe it looks, sounds, and feels cool to use so I prefer it
The big question for me is, while using VATS in Power Armor, will it drain my Fusion Cores still? Or will it work off of Stamina like how it works out of Power Armor. Because then, it still wouldn’t incline me to use VATS in Power Armor.
Did you test out the Core drain in PA when using vats ? It should use less fusion core while firing vats because of using less ap.. But that is only on paper... we need to know if its actually the case or not!!!
@@wiggle_plays hmm good to know...shame.. guess we will have to keep collecting cores than xD Also if you need cores...let me know... I got a "few" on both my PA characters
This is disrupting the balance. Then, nobody will play with rifles and pistols anymore. The rifles and pistols should get a buff, like increased accuracy or critical damage.
Great, so they're making the game even more catered for auto aimers with no skill. This is why 76 gets so boring. The game basically forces you to use vats already just so you're doing enough damage to not just be wasting ammo/time. Aiming down sights should do way more damage than vats because at least that takes some degree of aiming ability. And for those who'd say "not everyone is good at aiming down sights," I say well then why are they playing a fps game??

Shredder can still can solo bosses and unlike auto axe it looks, sounds, and feels cool to use so I prefer it
If they don't fix the AP bug, though, it'll all be for naught. So damn frustrating to play VATS at times
I wish they could bring back the the classic critical system.
Me too.
Wym how wAs it before ?
The big question for me is, while using VATS in Power Armor, will it drain my Fusion Cores still? Or will it work off of Stamina like how it works out of Power Armor. Because then, it still wouldn’t incline me to use VATS in Power Armor.
Did you test out the Core drain in PA when using vats ?
It should use less fusion core while firing vats because of using less ap..
But that is only on paper... we need to know if its actually the case or not!!!
I could visually see the cores draining. It was very fast.
It might be using less AP per shot but I'm shooting way more shots, so it probably evens out.
@@wiggle_plays hmm good to know...shame.. guess we will have to keep collecting cores than xD
Also if you need cores...let me know... I got a "few" on both my PA characters
I've got a couple of months to build up my supply.
They buffed the crossbow damage by quite a bit. Can you test the new damage with the quad legendary effective?
Most likely ricochet was getting a buff from his weapons legendary effect on top of the buff making it 1 hit themselves 😂
Probably a dumb question but when can you start using these changes ? On normal adventure mode .
This is the new meta!
This is disrupting the balance.
Then, nobody will play with rifles and pistols anymore.
The rifles and pistols should get a buff, like increased accuracy or critical damage.
Mg42 is the only one that deserves to be buff for vats
Did they move starched genes from L to E in this new update? What else is changed?
There is a big patchnote with all the changes on the bethesda website. Many perks reduced from 3 to 1, more perks are now boosted by stats.
When will this be added?
Should be December.
@@wiggle_plays damn.
Why aren’t you testing full stacks of 4 star effects? Test propelling etc
Quad harpoon gun now viable?!?!
they were always good vats weapons, now you just don't need 100's of canned coffee lol.
Are they going to fix that stamina glitch????? What the fuck? I’m getting tired of slamming coffee to get to get my stam bar back up.
Me whos been using heavy gun in vats for years 👀
They already are make a b50cand 25ap gat plas
I liked using heavy guns as a way to get away from vats.. i dont like this change.. ikik i can just not use vats but, we all know we will
Thing is these a meant to make dmg in freeaim 😅 they lack dmg
Myeah, next they’re going to change the PEGI to 8yo cause this game is getting easier by the update… 😂
It baffles my mind why these so-called expert youtubers run 50% penertration on ballistic weapons when we have the syringer on quick swap.
The new power armor will help a little bit with fusion core consumption but not a whole lot
To root out the players who complain about this stuff…like you.
@@donnerblitzen1388 Nah, to cater to players with no skill...like you.
@@DemonicAngel-g2salready finished all the quests, got all the PA suits, the overwhelming majority of the weapon plans, able to solo scorchbeasts solo and all with a free account and you claim that I have zero skill? Look in the mirror, you are sorely lacking. Please come back with something better - better yet, DON’T.
@@donnerblitzen1388 I'm over lvl 1000.
Name any item in the game, I have several. There is no plan or item I don't have or know. What does that have to do with skill? Play this game long enough, you'll get/find them all.
Being able to solo bosses is not a flex either, as the whole point of this little back and forth is about the game babysitting players that are only competent with vats. Which, given that you're here arguing in favour of vats, we can postulate is players like you, ie: with no skill, dependent on vats.
Cry more.
Vats is an essential part of the Fallout universe since Fallout 1. If you don’t like it, don’t use it. But don’t force your view and playstyle on others. Please respect the lore.
