Love this video. Meraviglia my favorite msc ship. Looking forward to doing yacht club in future. Always do fantastica balcony and get great service. Thank you.
I am so glad you guys did so many videos on Yacht Club. There is still not a lot of RUclips videos out there on the subject and this is helping me decide to book the upcoming World America for next year in Yacht Club. MSC gets it fair share of negative press, but this experience looks incredible!
Thanks! MSC gets a lot of bad reviews… and we’re still not sure it’s all deserved. They did have a period where they seemed to have adjusted to American tastes… but they have really been proactive about addressing those areas. We think that’s what a (cruise) company should do… and we can’t bash them for the growing pains associated with a new market. We think that if you look for things, you’ll find them… good or bad. We try to make our cruises about having a good time rather than dwelling on a few negatives. And the Yacht Club is definitely one of those “good” things about MSC… you will have an amazing experience if you end up there!😊
Thanks @Crontroversialcruising!!! Have to say that’s the first time we’ve ever received a compliment on our vocabulary… which can sometimes be somewhat “alternative” at times… 🤪😄🤪
Great video! You all are amazing! We are headed out on our 3rd YC cruise in December. It is such a great experience! And, the value for dollar can't be beat! And, the butlers really do become that third person in your cabin helping to make your experience the best that it can be. One of our YC cruises, the junior butler fell "in love" with my dear wife and kept squirelling piles of chocolates under her pillow, explaining sweetly that they were not for me. :-) It was great to see her taken care of in that way! But, it is great to have the quiet of th YC to retreat to when needed, but the run of the full ship whenever you want. I would say sometimes out in the ship it is harder to get quick drink service, so there are times where I will kip back to the YC Top Sail to get a bevy. It is just quicker. We love it! When you are ready to do a YC group cruise let us know; we are there!
Love that junior butler story… the YC crew is just so so special! It might not be such a stretch to say that the YC crew are more important to the experience than the actual Yacht Club! We may have to do a group cruise in the near future because… we have the BEST COMMUNITY on RUclips!!!! 🥰❤️🥰
I absolutely love your videos! Thank you for showcasing your experience, from bidding on the yacht club to all of the fun and excitement in between! I'm solo cruising and won the bid for the interior yacht club cabin and was upgraded to the yacht club balcony. I travel in 15 days, and I'm super excited!
Y'all are spot on about the Yacht Club. I'm going on my third MSC cruise, all in the Yacht Club, in November. I really like that you can enjoy the rest of the ship and then go to your quiet space and relax. The only "negative" is I can't seem to book an MSC cruise without the Yacht Club, it's that special and a really good deal for the price. Thanks for a great video.
Great video. Thanks! The story of the ship splitting had me rolling on the floor!!🤣 But I laughed hardest with your cartoon of the split ship. You kept saying it split port and starboard but the cartoon shows it splitting bow and stern.🤣🤣
I've really enjoyed your vloggs about MSC Yacht Club! I would be delighted to bump into you guys onboard. You're a lovely couple. Best wishes Stephanie
Thank you, Stephanie!! It’s so much fun running into folks who know us from our RUclips community… an absolute blast to get to know their cruise stories and what inspires them to travel!!! We don’t post our future cruises not because we’re secretive, but because we really love “flying by the seat of our pants” and seeing where life is pointing us to go next. So almost every time, we book just a few weeks beforehand… 🤪😊🤪
Love, love, love the Yacht Club! We've been on YC 3 times and have a 4th one booked on World Europa. We remained friends (like weekly calls) with the people we met on the Meraviglia back in May. I spot Micheal (concierge) Irish and Shane in your videos... fantastic service all around! We're addicted - it's hard to go back to the regular package. The wristbands can be used as payments. We hand the wristbands to the bartender or cashier if the reader is hard-wired. Never had a problem with that. It also activates the elevators to give you priority access. We aren't a-holes and use it when it's super-crowded. But on a regular non-crowded day, It's nice to be able to call an elevator to come to you immediately. I haven't found the ability to track where someone is on the ship yet. I thought it had something to do with activating it with the WiFi plan but as techy as I am, I couldn't figure it out. The Brooklyn Port's Yacht Club is pretty basic compared to Miami's. Hopefully they upgrade it soon, I realize it's a new port for MSC. Miami's Yacht Club had a nice, bright, spacious room with couches and short tables. They also served canapes in addition to the petit fours while we waited to check in. So we were slightly disappointed when we saw the small YC area in Brooklyn. But it didn't matter too much since the service was excellent. Boarding the ship is such a breeze. Great video!
💯❤️ Love that crew!!!! Couldn’t agree more! We haven’t experienced Miami’s YC area at the port, but they were hard at work on its construction last time we cruised out of there… hopefully we get there very soon! We just returned from a non-Yacht Club “regular” cruise this week … 😳¡¡¡culture shock!!!🤪 Ha… thanks!!!!
The Great Grape Frenzy of ‘23! Love it!!! 😆 It was really really weird… like one of those “Rod Serling has lost his mind” episodes of Twilight Zone! People couldn’t get enough of those dang grapes!
We just did my fourth YC cruise last week for my birthday, and am taking my wife in Dec for her birthday. We have only paid "rack rate" for the YC twice, and have been upgraded every other time. I LOVE MSC now, and the value of what you get is SO GOOD, especially compared to NCL Haven (which we have done before, but NEVER again).
Love to hear that! MSC has slowly become, quite possibly, our favorite. And to know so many others feel the same about Yacht Club… awesome! We haven’t done Haven, but we’ve heard it’s just not as great of an experience as Yacht Club… we may have to compare them in a future series. Thanks again!!!! 😊🤩😊
@@Taste-Try-Travel Yeah, I do not get the hate I see from some reviews. I think MSC caters to both the budget traveler as well as the mid-range high end one. At worst it is a perfectly serviceable cruise.
Question about the no registers for the drinks etc. I just got off a cruise and even if a drink was covered we still got a receipt we had to sign and we would add an additional tip if we felt so led. Is there no receipt to sign so maybe we should being some small bills for extra tipping if we would like to?
MSC says that Yacht Club has a “no tipping” policy… with that said, people do tip extra. So if you would like to add some extra each time, then yes, bring some small bills since there are no paper receipts in Yacht Club at all. Hope that helps!!! 😀😊😀
Great video🎉 very informative we are going in march first time cruising and we got our bid for hatch club as well. Was wondering how should we be tipping? Since we have more personalized service. Thank you
Ha! What timing!!! At 8am this morning, our MSC Cruise Cast on that exact subject is debuting on the channel…😁 Let us know if that answers your questions, or if you have anything more specific. Have an awesome adventure onboard and, of course… Thank You!!!!😊
Hi there. It was a 7 day roundtrip from NY. We were booked in a high value balcony and then we bid $400 per person for an interior and it was accepted (then comp upgrade to balcony) I will say that bids have gone up considerably from this trip as YC becomes more and more popular. Not sure we would get that bid again 😢
Thanks!!!! Tipping is included in the YC fare and no other tipping is expected. However, we did see folks tipping servers a few dollars… and we did tip a little extra to those who went above and beyond for us too. We always tip extra at the end of the cruise… make notes of the crew so we don’t forget. But again, extra tipping isn’t expected and is totally up to you. Hope that helps! 😊😎😊
Hi y´all, you did some great videos on the MSC Yacht Club and it so happens that we will be on the MSC Preziosa on the 5th of October travelling from Hamburg, Germany to Sao Paulo, Brazil and as it so happens in the Yacht Club. The trip will be 25 days long and we are looking forward to it. (only 11 more days!) As a matter of fact, she arrived in Hamburg early this morning to take a final trip probably to the English isles before coming back to pick us up on the 5th. Your videos are very exciting and now we know what to expect. I do have a question, however, on tipping the butlers or servents in the Yacht Club. How much should we tip and when? And by the way, stay positive!
Now that’s going to be an awesome holiday… 25 days of bliss in the Yacht Club! 🤩😎🤩 If you’ve paid gratuity beforehand, then it’s totally up to you as far as tips. There were folks tipping a few US dollars every time (for drinks and such) and there were others who didn’t. We almost always tip extra at the end of the cruise (around $5-$7 a day for us). We just keep notes on who we want to tip extra (those that absolutely went above and beyond to make our cruise great). But again, extra tips are not expected. It is totally up to you. If you want to show some extra gratitude, anytime you offer it, it will be appreciated by that awesome crew! Thanks for the kind words and have a wonderful trip! (You definitely will! 😊🤪😊)
I'm having so much fun watching your videos. Just booked my first yacht club Cruise and leaving in less than 2 weeks. Your content is wonderful, thank you! I was told that there is no tipping allowed. Is that true?
Thank you!!! 😊 You are going to be so spoiled on your Yacht Club cruise (in the best way possible!🤪🤩🤪) You can tip if you would like but not expected at all… so it’ll be up to you. If we tip extra, we always tip at the end… we’ll make notes during the cruise of crew we want to tip a little extra. Have an awesome trip!
You said you upgraded on inside cabin yet describe being on balcony, which type of room where you in and what was the actual upgrade price? Mine $1300 per person.
Hi Linda. We originally booked a high category balcony and then the upgrade bid we put in for was to a YC inside suite for $400 per person (that was right in the middle of what they suggested). After it was accepted, we looked at our luggage tags and paperwork after we did the check in, we realized that they had given us a free upgrade from that inside suite to a balcony suite.
We just back 2 weeks ago from our first MSC cruise on Seaside. We were celebrating a few life milestones, so we splurged and got the Royal suite! I’m pretty sure my generous husband has created a monster. 😂 How does one go back to regular cruising after that??? Love your videos.
Well thank you for that video, blog. Amazing we sailed MSC Virtuosa this summer in Europe. Traveling with our family in a Balconey fantastica class. (MSC have different bands / class options). We swore never to sail MSC again because it was so bad. Maybe it was because it was mainly our fellow brits (and 80% had never cruised before) but it was awful. However, seeing your yacht club review I may change my mind. People say you can stay yacht club for around the price of a regular Balconey on royal. I liked how you said push and shove at the buffet. Our family call ALL buffets “Stab ‘n’ Grab” you know when you see someone reaching for that last soft hotdog, stab their hand with your folk and grab that dog 😂🤣😂🤣 it’s only a joke 🥰 we have never done it but it can be survival of the fittest in them places 🥰
Ha! Stab n Grab! Love it. MSC, at times, can be overwhelming… might just be a mix of cultures (behaviors from fellow guests we’re not use to). But we have been so impressed with MSC trying to change their way of operating. They have come a long way just in the past 2 years. Must say though, that all of our experiences with MSC have been in the US… it may be different in Europe. But Yacht Club is a different animal entirely… a wonderfully unique way to experience cruising that is impossible to compare to regular cruising. It’s just a fantastic experience! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Yacht Club to anyone! 🤩😊🤩
