    This backing track is so good that it makes my shitty solos sound decent.

    I've been playing for 4 months and am very new to the concept of "scales". As soon as I learned the Am blues scale I came here to jam along, randomly climbing up and down the scale. This might be my first improv but man that felt so good!

      @@OverheatingHotdog It’s kinda ok. I moved somewhere and couldn’t pay much attention to guitar for reasons, so I don’t think I have a 5 year worthy progress. Still, recently got an acoustic guitar to keep me busy. Learning more about rhythm and fingerstyle lately. I need to revisit music theory some time.

    I played this backing track 1 1/2 hours and jammed to it with only the pentatonic scale and felt like a pro on my own stage.
    Well done! Love it!!

      Yes! I'm not a very good player, but man.... with a killer backing track like this one, I can do the same. Get into a groove with the pentatonic scale, all up and down the neck.... and just have a field day with it! Get my sound system dialed in, up there in the music room, and pretend I'm a pro for a little while! LOL Agree with you 100%. This is a killer track!

    • @chupacabra3331
      @chupacabra3331 2 дня назад +1

      Dude, that’s all it takes. I’d say add a couple more scales. Figure out a few repeater licks and some great places to bend and you’re golden. Find your own tone through a quality amp. Slash from GNR made his money with the blues scale and pentatonic and great tone and embellishment. Improvise a lot, come up with some of your moves. Honestly, I think if you just kept the pentatonic alone and played in a band the audience would love it because your solos would sound great to the ear. Screw trying to be Hendrix.

      Its just a basic 12 bar blues in A minor. Just play around in a pentatonic for a bit and you'll make some progress. When you get confortable with that you can look at adding the 6th and playing in dorian to really give it some flavor.

    Here's a little tip to expand your chops. Start with a note in the scale, slide on up , same string to the next note that sounds like it fits. Might be one fret, might be 3 frets up. But always look around the neck for a new starting point. Cause now from that new spot you found, run the scale from that position in the scale. It will be liberating in that "stuck in one area" tar pit of advancement. Every string has a A or a note in that scale. Let your ear hear it as you slide up or down at your own pace. Listening for that sweet note that fits.

      Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else needs to find out about blues guitar backing tracks try Zamartar Simple Blues Remedy (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin got cool results with it.

      Ive been playing guitar about 6 or 7 months now. And just know a ton of scales and techniques instead of songs. This has been me still. It takes me about 2 hours to really jam my fingers out of commission but every day I hit it with this jam. I always just get into this serious thing where I cant stop playing variations of a new riff until the song is over and I'm like "Whoah, that was something totally new", it feels so good. I think someday ill look back on this time as my "golden age" of guitar, but I just keep getting better and discovering new highs of experience with jamming. Your comment sums it up so well. Its hurt the shit out of my fingers to type this but its well worth it.
