Thanks for the video. Unfortunately, mine differs from yours in numerous ways. Aside from the fact that what you were showing didn't work out at all on my end. Perhaps the latest version differs enough from the one you used for this video?
This is really cool and I was hoping to run across a city gen type addon but with roads being a strong focus. As an amateur blender user, there's a lot of addons for procedural/city generators, and a lot of addons in general for blender. Trying to figure out which one procedural addon is best for me, or city pack on gumroad or blender market, very time consuming. Ty for making this video, very cool, definitely something I'm going to get later today.
@@Leukick this is a hard question to answer because I've seen some really cool videos on youtube for procedural addons, like this one and I did also check out the link to the Buildify addon, very cool. However I can't say I have a favorite, honestly I don't have enough free time to sit down and browse or analyze. On my wish list I have maybe a dozen different addons that aim to do pretty much the same thing. Sci fi cyberpunk futuristic city by Pamir Bel Geometry nodes procedural city by UH studios City road builder by Gtechidesign Real city by wolf Quick city geometry nodes by blender things Procedural city addon by gtechidesign Ultimate city addon by k-studios The list goes on like that. And this right now is just a hobby for me, but I thought it would be really cool to do cityscape shots. Foggy, cyberpunk or modern cities, start adding details, just you know, get better at art.
@@firemyst9064 Ahh understood. And yeah that's a solid list of addons. CGI city scenes are pretty common, and I truly wonder what is the EASIEST way to get these nice scenes put together so they work well for urban car driving scenes. I wonder what workflow everyone's doing aha
@@Leukick me too. And I've seen enough videos about blender that every once in awhile people mention don't overdo your scene. Put in the effort and make it look nice, but adding too many details that may be overlooked or unnecessary is lost productivity and time. I too wonder about work flows.
Well it does, but only sometimes. I'm not sure if it's glitchy or what, but F9 is one of the Blender features that MIGHT work 50% of the time for me. What I like about geometry nodes is that they're just...there. You don't have to worry about losing the menu, not getting it back, etc - they're always there in the modifier settings

Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about Random Flow in the comments below! :)
you can get the menu back by pressing F9 - hope this helps

Thanks for a short detailed use example. I always like seeing different use cases for random flow, always inspires me to try it in new ways!
Thanks, this tool will help with creating cityscape on the fly!
Nice, now let's see how to texture it procedurally, please 🙂

What are some of your favorite addons for city generators? Maybe CG Essentials can do videos on them

Enjoy your videos! I’m subbing! Hopefully I can utilize your tutorials to up my animations! Thanks!

f9 brings the menu back up that you were working on! 👍

Lol - these add-ons vary so much in functionality that I'm not even sure scoring them would be coherent :)
Ah I do love it when something goes on sale just after I bought it 😡
