What do you think he should do with dices he does not want at that moment? Is rerolling the best idea? If he had more messhauls and more wheatfields it maybe.
That is always a complaint I see in these preview videos. Everyone is used to spacebar for pause/unpause

Looks a lot like this was originally designed as a mobile game (probably works pretty well as one), so that might be the reason.

This is totally my jam, might have to give it a go. Don't really understand why it's a giant loop in space but...oh well.
It's a ring world. Probably suffered some manner of civilizational collapse for one reason or another, though I imagine the story will be going in to that.
If I had to guess, it is just an artistic license they took, which in my opinion is fantastic, since it adds some 'timeless' feeling to it =)
It’s a type of space construct. If you have a strong enough material, you can create a large spinning ring generating a force like gravity eg centrifugal force in the reference frame , I think carbon nanotubes and graphene can create one with twice the surface area of the US roughly, I think. Didn't know I wanted this game, but today I found out! Just got it for myself. Nice to see that, several months later, they do have some of the things you mention like rebindable keys and ways to auto-fill production places.
Interestingly, this technically counts as hard science fiction, with the space construct of the Banks orbital/halo ring/ringworld, a big ring in space which spins to generate a force like gravity.
Now where's the kzinti and the puppeteer?
Shoulderpads need to be 1000% larger before it can be called blizzardy.
Finally something new. The game looks good and offers something creative. I like it.

Thanks, Splat! Looks like totally my kind of game! But it seems like all that micromanagement is getting messy on later stages. It would've been muuuch easier in turn-based. And OMG peasants should not choose what to do.. like go do what your liege just told you without any "will I feel like I want to swing a sword this morning" 8)

OH OH!! I was so confused cause it's got the DICE word in it.....just my opinion but it would have been a tad bit better if instead of dice they where people, like different type of surfs/peons or whatever............and also I agree on the resources having to drag them manually, maybe that would be ok if you had to choose from different mats, but if it only requires that one mat, then should just add automatically..........regardless I think I will grab this game, it actually seems fu to me lol, good vid Splatty ;D

did you try to use wheat at the cook house instead of food? I think the reason you have to drag it over is you might be able to pick/chose different types of food?

perosnally i wouldnt see myself pausing this game so much but i do see myself rolling the dice alot so i probably would like an option to auto lock returned dice and then spam space bar as needed

Was just reading a article about this was gunna suggest Splatty give it a look! I'd give it a try if there was a demo, pity, don't know... Looks good, but might get annoying frantic later. A thing I don't like about games like this, they get too tense with things happening, even pausing only helps so much.

Would be cool if the peasants actually did something other than wander around aimlessly. The game mechanics are super familiar to me, but this seems like a neat time waster that doesn't require a lot of thinking.

Really interested, but it will need rebindable keys or the game is a no-go for me. I think nowadays being able to rebind keys is not discussable, even with a very reduced numbers of keys.
The Steam Generator has no place in such a game. If staying warm is a mechanic they want, then there should be a structure to make logs into fire wood and structures that use fire to do work (like a cook house) should require fire wood and keep dice from freezing while working. Structures that don't require wood should have the risk to freeze. Homes should have 'warming' slots for people who work outside to be unfrozen if fire wood is available.

You can't lock dice while the game is paused? Oh, _that's_ a bad sign! What else can't you do while the game is paused? Given that you have to press '1' in order to pause the game in the first place,... well, that's just another sign that this game probably isn't for me.

I like the dice mechanic, but I hate the ring that the world plays around. Thematically, I can't get into it without thinking im on a space station or something.

This is on par with like a solitaire style of game. I'm half way through the video and this seems kind of boring. I'd consider playing this on mobile to pass time though.
