Sir, I very much doubt that the chords were inaccurate. Your chord work is excellent at all times. Instead of G chord, you had G7, which I think sounds way better. But, keep posting, we all enjoy your lessons.
Very nice, Pavan! Thanks for your time. While I got the rhythm of the strumming right, yours sound much clearer. Apart from the difference due to you being up there at a very high level and me at the beginner level needing to do lot of practice to get the clear sound out of strumming, is there any other practice that you recommend? There is no rosin for guitar, similar to violin, right? I mean to make strings less smoother so that they respond more vividly to the strums.
hi alkesh, you could use a pick or plectrum to get a stronger sharper sound! practice is critical of course like any other instrument. good luck and good bless :)

hi keshav, the song switches between all the minor modes - natural (when it uses Bb chord that has ni komal), harmonic (when it is uses G chord that has ni shuddh) and melodic when it uses F chord (dha shuddh).

hi shubham, if you playing in a band and performing on stage with a lot musicians then you should use a pick especially if you are playing rhythm, so you get a clean sound that is distinct in the mix. if u r strumming along with vocals, then bare hand gives you a softer richer sound (some people might argue otherwise) and you will get the personal connection from your mind / body to your strings like i do!
hi ram, there is no secret really! it's all about training your ear to listen carefully. most of the time 7th chords are used to make the harmonies sound richer. for instance if u r playing in the key of C,. and wanted to use the G chord when landing on the notes G, B or D, you could also play a G7 which has the notes G, B,. D, F and makes the sound richer. same story for m7 and M7 chords. others like dim7, etc are less common. i do show 7ths when they have been used based on what I hear, though I could be wrong in which case you just play the triad and it will be fine. try listening carefully the original if you know from someone there is a 7th played and listen to the backing chords and harmonies including bass, strings, guitar, and you will gradually develop a ear for 7ths. there are some rules that can be followed for various situations, too much for me to explain here. will try to post a lesson some day! god bless :)

Sir, I very much doubt that the chords were inaccurate. Your chord work is excellent at all times. Instead of G chord, you had G7, which I think sounds way better. But, keep posting, we all enjoy your lessons.

Very nice, Pavan! Thanks for your time. While I got the rhythm of the strumming right, yours sound much clearer. Apart from the difference due to you being up there at a very high level and me at the beginner level needing to do lot of practice to get the clear sound out of strumming, is there any other practice that you recommend? There is no rosin for guitar, similar to violin, right? I mean to make strings less smoother so that they respond more vividly to the strums.
hi alkesh, you could use a pick or plectrum to get a stronger sharper sound! practice is critical of course like any other instrument. good luck and good bless :)

hi keshav, the song switches between all the minor modes - natural (when it uses Bb chord that has ni komal), harmonic (when it is uses G chord that has ni shuddh) and melodic when it uses F chord (dha shuddh).

aye chords goolo mushkil laagle Am te bajaate paaro, use a capo on 1st fret, chords will then be Am, G, C, F....
strumming pattern ektu tricky, but you can use the pattern i have shown for tujhe dekha in the lesson below, tempo will be much faster.

try in F#m, chords are mostly F#m, Bm, A, G.
this uses a Phrygian scale, similar to the one in the lesson below, also by Kishore Da but in Gm, just one step up.

Sir what is best strumming with pick or struming with bare hand ...?? ☺
hi shubham, if you playing in a band and performing on stage with a lot musicians then you should use a pick especially if you are playing rhythm, so you get a clean sound that is distinct in the mix. if u r strumming along with vocals, then bare hand gives you a softer richer sound (some people might argue otherwise) and you will get the personal connection from your mind / body to your strings like i do!

Hey wanted to ask you its ik with major and minor chords but what ia the truck to figure out these 7th chords?
hi ram, there is no secret really! it's all about training your ear to listen carefully. most of the time 7th chords are used to make the harmonies sound richer. for instance if u r playing in the key of C,. and wanted to use the G chord when landing on the notes G, B or D, you could also play a G7 which has the notes G, B,. D, F and makes the sound richer. same story for m7 and M7 chords. others like dim7, etc are less common. i do show 7ths when they have been used based on what I hear, though I could be wrong in which case you just play the triad and it will be fine. try listening carefully the original if you know from someone there is a 7th played and listen to the backing chords and harmonies including bass, strings, guitar, and you will gradually develop a ear for 7ths. there are some rules that can be followed for various situations, too much for me to explain here. will try to post a lesson some day! god bless :)
