i miss driving on this bridge. the road surface is so smooth that i went well and beyond the speed limit in the Chinese section... The sub-sea tunnel asphalt surface is the best i have ever driven too. 10/10!
Love China and Hong Kong and Macau too. After Amazing Hong Kong Airport Built on Artificial Island after 20 or 21 year to this project, you built this Unique Bridge.Congratulation to China `s experts.Miroslav Serbia.
It's remarkable how little traffic is on this bridge. Apparently drivers from bkth the SARS and Mainland China need to jump through a lot of bureaucratic hurdles to actually be able to use the bridge. Surely someday that'll change, this really isn't being used to it's potential.
To drive on the bridge legally, you need to purchase three separate insurances (Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau), a yearly permit for the bridge toll gates and a three year permit to restricted zone in Hong Kong. The entire process is mind boggling and cost upwards of US$500 per year to maintain
And only a select few have permits to drive on the bridge, so either way you have to take public transport and your money finds its way into their pockets.
actually is a win for them, the bridge has proven that it is faster to use the ferry, but cheaper to use the bus. And the same company controls both mode of transportation, instead of losing out, they're not making money on both!
I need to take that bridge...I'm living in Macau. But the ferries are just so much more convenient when you are living in Macau. I mean, it takes you directly to Central!
Great video of the Hong Kong Bridge....i watch it alwAys.. What is the name of the music in this video it is Great!!!... it goes with it well...what is this music?...thanks...I like Hong Kong...
Kakamiss magtravel punta macau sana mawala na covid at nang makapasyal naman ako sa macau kapag day off ko magbus lang ako takot ako sa dagat eh lalo na kapag malikot ang dagat
There are too many violent protests in Hong Kong. Tourists are not recommended to stay in Hong Kong. Instead, they can consider transiting through Hong Kong to Macau and Zhuhai (a city in Guangdong province).
Based on some speed comparisons of 25 seconds and counting of some light poles I calculated that the slow down between 3:39 and 4:05 is around 7.5 (7.375 ~ 7.625) times slower, so those 25 seconds is worth about 3.3 seconds of sped up time. Travel time: 4:24 (From the moment of counting to end of counting) Travel time while able to count: 3:39 (219 seconds) Travel time while not able to count: 0:45 Counted 134 vehicles going in the opposite direction. Avg of observed vehicles/second over 219 seconds = 0.6118 vehicles / second Est. of 0:45 = 27 vehicles Est. of 4:24 = 161 (134+27=161, checks out) Anyways here is the timings and my showing of work / raw data: 0:42 start the speed run and counting... 2:16 2:58 tunnel 1 starts 0:38 3:36 tunnel 1 exit 0:03 3:39 sped down tempo 0:03 (from 0:25) 4:05 back to sped up tempo 0:55 5:00 tunnel 2 start 0:07 5:07 tunnel 2 exit 0:22 5:29 end of counting Note: 7 vehicles also passes the camera man :O
Realistically though, why does the bridge force people to drive on the right-hand side of the bridge, when both Hong Kong and Macau drive on the left-hand side? Seems unnecessary, but the bridge looks cool nevertheless.
and this why China so vested in further Hong Kong administration integration In 2050, the whole delta/bay area is gonna be like an awesomely huge cyberpunk megacity maybe complete with cyberpunk governance and corporate power too lol but one heck of a megacity
If Philippines want to connect her Islands with bridges. Technically it is possible. the problem is how to find enough money to pay for the construction! Certainly easier than the Indonesia cases.
in the 60´s we were amazed with the development of the URSS, then came Japan in the 80´s. Now again we are amazed with China . But still U.S. is in the top!
It's because the bridge follows the driving rules of mainland China (they drive on the right side). Once you enter Hong Kong, you will drive on the left
@@ianchan5415 Kind of nuts since HK & Macau is China they should just make it all right hand drive since UK no longer owns HK. They still using British license system & plates on vehicles there also.
@@drsysop well I think changing the side to drive on is easier said then done. All road signs and lanes have to be reworked and I guess it would be better to stick to the status quo

The rain drops, make this beautiful video very interesting to watch!
What's amazing is how smooth that road is .,.
Most of the highways in China is like that. Too bad they are all toll gated, but they aren’t too expensive.
The road surface will last a lot longer, since most people aren't allowed to use the bridge, that's for sure.
Ferry company sure do not like this bridge
@yehoutube The parent company of the ferry company run the shuttle buses on the bridge. Win Win for them.
And only a select few have permits to drive on the bridge, so either way you have to take public transport and your money finds its way into their pockets.

Actually everyone i know who has done the bridge has said that they will use the ferry next time for a variety of reasons.

Which one is the easiest way if you want to travel from Macao airport to HK airport? Bridge bus or ferry.? How much time needed?
Realistically though, why does the bridge force people to drive on the right-hand side of the bridge, when both Hong Kong and Macau drive on the left-hand side? Seems unnecessary, but the bridge looks cool nevertheless.
Mainland China drives on the right.
I would like to go in the tunnel
It's already the longest sea bridge in the world. 55km undersea tunnel?
But you need a permit, passport, visa (if required) and a (mainland) Chinese drivers licence.

upto this tunnel it is how many kilometers?
I hear somewhere that the bridge is 55 km long. How come a tunnel mid-way between the cities?
The tunnel is to allow water traffic to move without delay. Very well designed.
Nice bridge. Shame almost no one is allowed to use it.
What was the actual duration of the bus ride that you recorded originally?
45 Minutes
