  • Brook Park Ohio -- Officers with the Brook Park Police Department received a complaint about a female who attacked a cemetery employee and broke the rear wiper to their vehicle at the local cemetery. Officers followed to their home, this is where the video begins.
According to the police report, while officers were attempting to get her out of her vehicle, the woman kicked one of the officers in the head, it is not scene on the video clearly but it still happened according to the report. That officer and another officer were taken to the hospital for their injuries and both were discharged.
The woman appearing in the video very clearly experiencing a mental health emergency, and because this incident happened because of a list of consequences that were beyond her control due to her state of mind, all personal information pertaining to her was (hopefully) redacted.
    She was charged with:
    - Assault (on a police officer) (F4) (2903.13)
    - Resisting Arrest (M1) (2921.33)
    - Criminal Damaging / Endangering (M2) (2909.06)
All charges were dropped by the prosecutor

Probably because she's not mentally competent to stand trial. She needs a psych ward not a jail cell. She _might_ get help in the former. In the latter, the crazy is only going to get worse.

@@ruthgiles8926 The laws need to take the safety of the individual and the community into consideration and allow a judge to place the individual into a psych ward so they receive treatment. Charges would get her in front of the judge, and he then could make that order. Yes, and the fact that the car is being encircled by men with guns, threatening to smash the windows to get to her probably had nothing to do with her psychological state! Police are supposed to be trained to deal with situations like this, why don't they use that training instead of behaving like a hunting pack? What's more important, just to get her out of the car, or to get her out of the car safely and causing her as little distress as possible? We see it all the time, officers tasering deaf people because they don't respond to orders, paraplegics being dragged out of their car because they "refuse" to exit voluntarily, people suffocating to death because an officer's knee is on their throat - whilst three officers watch on unconcerned. The American police are in a sad place these days, part due to poor recruiting and training, but also due to the fact that whatever they do their superiors will support them and there will be no accountability. This is borne out by the disconnect between police and civilians, it's sad, but it's unchanging.

There should be some metrics and criteria that prosecutors have to go by to drop charges rather than them just having the ability to just drop the charges on their own merit. With some it's obvious... others not so much though. Having watched several of these, it's readily apparent that many of them are acting out in an effort to intimidate or bait the police, force police to use force, and then hire a lawyer. Others do have mental health issues. Looking at the entire picture, this one probably did. She wasn't screaming about her "constitutional rights".
Another problem that I hope is addressed by the States in the legislative sessions are these so-called "First Amendment Auditors". Little graduates of the Google School of Law who's goals are three fold... Become the latest Tic Toc stars, to bait the police into use of force/arresting them, and if the later, a cash pay out through some nuisance suit. The legislatures of States that don't have laws that require an individual to produce ID when there's reasonable suspicion by the police will have to create one. And pass laws making it an offense to attempt to bait or intimidate the police.

All of you making fun of her for the human trafficking stuff she could have quite literally been a victim of that currently or in the past and it's something she hadn't dealt with. Stop judging people who are obviously having problems. That's why people like her can't get better.

Because cops like to blow things out of proportion. Example they'll say someone ran into their car when in reality the cop ran their car into another vehicle. Then they have to tape off the scene and take 1000s of pictures

That’s so disappointing that she got off free with no consequences. I’m not saying she is faking it but at that point it looks bad and shows people that anyone can act like they are having a mental episode and just get off free of charge. She knew what she was doing therefore she should get consequences just like any other person!

This is what happens when you refuse to take your meds. The rest of the citizens suffer because you decide you don't need them. If you had cancer you wouldn't be missing a dose. There has to be consequences for not staying on your meds. What makes me angry is the number of people that have to suffer because of this person's behavior. I no longer feel sorry for the mentally ill when they do this. I feel sorry for those who are trying and the meds are not doing the job.

I read the description and watched a few minutes.
In the description it said the prosecutor dropped all charges......and then I'm done watching.
I ain't having a go at the USA, it's a global problem concerning mental health, but to just avoid dealing with what is obviously very concerning, especially after all that the police had to deal with and the time, energy and effort they put into just do their job is an insult to them.
    I'm shocked.
And then the question is? Who would be a police officer? NOT ME
