    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Год назад

      Yeah. I did not like the B&O radio in my Gen2. Was not as clear as I hoped and bass was lacking, specially at low volume.
      B&O radio actually makes integration a little more challenging. System will literally only work with its own components and speakers. So it can be more challenging.
      Check with crutchfield to see if the aftermarket has caught up yet. It’s been out a few years and I’m sure there is modules to integrate by now.

  • @tp8382
    @tp8382 Год назад +1

    I like it all except the obnoxious sub box, you could have got just as much bass with 2 good 8" or 10" subs under the seat facing out like Sundown, Skar, ect, then you would not have to cut your seat in half. I'm doing a project similar to yours, same truck, 2 amps, keeping my stock 2011 Radio because I have the aftermarket system when you can watch movies while driving and I just like the stock (Out of the way look) I'm also using different harness conversion kit by Maestro aFO2, then going to a Audio Control LCi5 Plus then to a equalizer then to the amps.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Год назад

      Everyone’s requirements are different. I need a flat floor in the back for my camera and camping gear. Under seat subs require splitting up that flat floor and shallow mount subwoofers that don’t some anywhere near as good. I’m not listening to music loud, and shallow and smaller subwoofers require a lot of volume to sound good at low volume.
      So with this I’m used a sub box and speaker that I got at a killer deal, sound quality is amazing at any volume, and I keep my full flat floor and don’t loose any space. This is perfect for me. Others may end up doing a cooler or something NG else and I hope others get inspired to do what works for them.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Год назад

      Yeah, a follower brought that up afterwards. But not much info out there on how reliable and buggy it is. It also seems to completely take over controls which can present a few other challenges. Like how will the trim look and what works on the stock controls and what won’t

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I run an audio shop in Texas and we sell Maestro harnesses all day everyday. I have yet to have any issues what so ever. Only time we run into anything is an install problem. Once that is fixed we have nothing wrong. I would definitely recommend you go this route. Not to mention all the other features it adds. OBDII connections and code reading and erasing. It’s legit. I have it in my 2011 F150.

    I got an aftermarket radio with a kicker amp/sub downfiring combo box, I noticed I need to have my music loud too to hear the bass more. How do I fix this? Just change loud settings to high?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Год назад

      It really depends on your radio and sub setup. Some radios and amps have options to bump up the audio level. Most don’t. I will be installing an audio DSP later this year to add full volume and EQ control to improve it on my truck. Because I can get more volume now with the PAC module, but now I don’t have low volume. It just a drop off at the bottom. So I’m going to setup the DSP to control all the audio going to my amps and balance out my audio correctly

    Are the Factory Five truck kits any good?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Год назад

      No, they are not. Factory five makes some great kits for cars. But that offroad kit is the joke of the offroad industry. It hangs lower than the stock frame making sure it will bottom out on everything. and the travel numbers can beat by most of the kits on the market for fraction of the price. Even a Gen3 Raptor can outperform it offroad and that’s a stock truck.

    I dunno man Steve mead was able to pull a shit load of bass out of 4 and then he switched the box out for a 6 sub box with 6.5’s in it under the seat.
    Now I get it it was in a f250 or 350 but still it can be done….

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  6 месяцев назад

      F250 and f350 cabs are the same size as the f150. They just do different frames and slightly different interior. But same size.
      And I get it if they did smaller subs to lift up the mids and get fuller sounds I can see it. But I’ve had shallow subs before and size and enclosure matters. A shallow sub can’t replicate bass as well in low volume. They sound good loud but they have a limited band where they sound good. It’s hard to explain until you get a proper sub with a proper enclosure and all the tuning capability that you can tap with a DSP.
