Thank you for this video Zee and I'm glad you were able to get yours fixed at least. I can confirm that my drone has exactly the same issue. Having only used the drone a few times with no more than 6 hours flight time, it simply failed. Just like everyone else here, it was treated with absolute care at all times, stored in its case anytime it wasn't being used. I took it out one morning to give it a flight and all of the issues showed up, exactly as Zee had with his. Like him I searched the internet for help and found the many dozens of similar cases. I was so very frustrated and angry that I had paid over £1000 for what was classed as a high quality product and yet it failed so easily and is rendered utterly useless. Living here in the UK the cost of any repair is totally prohibitive. Having watched many videos of people showing how to replace the IMU I tried to find the IMU needed to attempt a repair myself, but there are none available that I can find anywhere. For a company as big as DJI to produce a product with a clear manufacturing fault, and take absolutely no responsibility for it is utterly shameful. I will never purchase another product from DJI nor will I ever recommend them to anyone.
Same issue as you, bought mine in 2018, never dropped it, never damaged it and one day all the same problems you encountered happen to me at the same time. I have not more than 2-3 hours of utilisation.
Thanks for your post. I just got the same exact error, April 2021. So disappointed in @DJI for how they have treated you and others. I will give it a shot next week and see what they tell me. I have owned 4 of their drones. Never had a problem until now. I had planned to sell this Mavic Air and get the Mini 2. If I get the same non-response you and others have, I will never again buy any of their products.
Great video! Just happened to my wife and I this morning! Although we have had the drone for two years it has under 50 hours flight time! Like you we are very protective about the unit. Going to order the parts and fix ourselves. Cheers to you for uploading!
Same exact issues here. Only flew it a few times and went to get it out last summer to fly it. Said needed an update so I did it. Then all the same warnings you had popped up after I installed an update and tried to fly it. Figured maybe the install was interrupted? Downloaded their assistant app on my computer reset to factory settings then reinstalled update and still has same errors. I guess I have to send it in at this point due to what seems to me a faulty update.
I have same problem, I have updated "No Fly Zone" database and since then drone is useless. I contacted DJI and was told that it is hardware issue and that quote: "I can confirm that a Flysafe-Database update will not lead to an IMU issue. " DJI did this to me in the past with another drone when they blamed me for crashing the drone (again no crash I also made RUclips video about it) and I had to pay for repair same money as it will cost me to buy 2nd hand drone. It should never take place that they can brick our drones using updates and then charge us fortune for their own mistakes :(
Hey man going through the same hassles with DJI.....I had an IMU error code then lost control of the drone....DJI want this a scratch on the bodywork for a charge of £ 80........no mention of the IMU...OH and BTW...its still under warranty....🤨
Yes I have the same problem. The IMU itself gets very hot from the first day as soon as I recharged my Mavic Pro 2 !!! I have only 3 flights !!!! Flight duration 3 minutes Test flights on the site !!! DJI is not a global market leader. They have a global problem with the IMU bloc. This is a shame and a shame !!! This is not worthy of the world market leader !!! This is the behavior of scammers !!! I have paid for all guarantees and insurance. I haven't handled this issue yet. I just found it and decided to search on RUclips. And I watched your video and was horrified !!! I watched 10 more videos this is a huge global problem for DJI !!! Let's see what they answer me. I will definitely answer in the post.
Today I faced the same problem. I've never crashed my drone. I'm not able to find any physical reason for this. I reset the device to the factory settings- it didn't help.
This is happening to me but it started after a flew on a plane to vegas. We traveled by car to Lake Havasu and i tried to fly it over the London Bridge and wouldn't take off amd hasn't flown since. It flew before I got on the plane though and it was packed in a big hard case inside my suit case surrounded by clothing. This has been almost a year now
This fix is very simple if you were little bit handy, you can do it your self i did mine few days ago and actually i didn’t even change the IMU module, it’s small board attached to the main board with 4 small rubbers, just had to take it out clean it with 90% alcohol and tooth brush, now working perfectly costs me bottle of alcohol 🤷🏻♂️ Common Dji !!
That's the IMU module, are you meaning you've just cleaned the connector or the IMU chip-sets with those blue things on top? I've got the same IMU error too......
For anyone with the same issue, I just fixed my mavic air by doing this method. I cleaned all of the blue thermal paste off the imu and reassembled. Turned it on and all error messages are gone. Thanks.
Hey man....my drone had IMU errors appear suddenly.....in a low level hover and this error message appeared on my phone....drone veered left and crashed....awaiting analysts to get back to me.....🙄
now I'm solving the same thing ... what about DJI? well you're actually unlucky: D. There are 2 official services in Europe and I will not send a drone over half a light. Well, I bought nothing IMU on Amazon and I will believe when the part comes that I will fix it myself ... :)
I disassembled my imu sensor, took out the board, cleaned it from the blue compound, dried it, the error disappeared Я разобрал свой датчик imu достал плату, очистил от голубого компаунда, высушил, ошибка пропала
I just got the same shit! I don't know what to do!!!! Never crashed my drone! Sudden Strike for me :((( One day fly second day not working!!!!! DJI I need my drone back!!!!!
Hello sir... can i get an advice about my mavir air.??? After a bad crash, the IMU calebration was failed, i try to calibrate the IMU bad error 13 appeared, what shoul i do.... thanks in advance🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
If you crashed, I would recommend to contact DJI as they would likely be the only people who could assist you with a repair. IMU issues, in my experience, can only be fixed with the manufacturer. If you want to risk taking it to a tech shop, or opening it up yourself you may void warranty.
We are sorry for the unpleasant experience you had with us, Zee, could you please provide us with your case number? We'll look into the details and learn from the case, and keep improving our service. Regarding the feedback about the warranty, we are sorry that if the drone is beyond the warranty period, a paid service may require, hope your kind understanding.
My case number is: CAS-4470104-L7R9V4. The warranty period was not entirely what I was dissatisfied with. It was more so the outrageous repair cost for the drone I paid over $800 for. As stated in my video, I should not have to pay for a repair that I did not cause. This was a manufacturer's issue, and as a global leader in the drone market, it should have been covered with a replacement free of charge. Thanks.
@@zeerevs Thank you for the information. We forwarded your feedback to the corresponding team and you will be informed as soon as there are any updates regarding your case.
@@DJITutorials Hello sir... can i get an advice about my mavic air.??? After a bad crash, the IMU calibration was failed, i try to calibrate the IMU but error 13 appeared, and the calibration stops, what should i do.... thanks in advance🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
@@louieordonio1896 Hi Louie, if the issue existed after the accident, we may suggest that you send the unit back to our service center for service. Please fill out the online repair request on our official web and then send it back. Here is the link: repair.dji.com/repair/index We will do our best to help this out.
I literally had the same exact experience just today (2/22/21). Same issue, same diagnosis, same quote for repairs, same $34.35 discount after I explained I have never crashed it and it has under 20hrs of flight time. Safe to say DJI learned nothing from this case and didn't improve their service.
so your drone is almost 2 years old and out of warranty? sorry but that's how the whole industry works. otherwise why would they set up a warranty period? during this global pandemic I couldn't complain.... but the repair fee isi pretty damn high indeed...

same happened to me today! have u figured anything out to repair it?
really trying to find a way to get my drone back in the air
Mine recently gave out with the same issues!
Same happened to me, what to do now?
Same crap last week with Mavic Air 2. Gimbal, IMU, accelerometer, GPS all reporting errors. Clearly a main board issue
I have the DJI 2S and I am having the same problems!
Exactly the same errors on mine. Have always had it packed away, probably 5 or so hours of flight time. What a joke DJI
Fixed our IMU, central controller errors by refresh the firmware, reset to factory default then reapplying the latest firmware. Just an option.
Me paso lo mismo, mi dron nunca chocó ni le paso nada. De la noche a la mañana gallo el dron.¿ Hay alguna solución al día de hoy?
Same problem here, no crashes, just randomly happened, all faults at once
Same thing happened to me. Very frustrating!
great video!

HI, i have opened my drone until the imu disconnect, and reconnect and my mavic air fly again but i am with you for many money the quality is poor.
Same issues I am facing, we should lawsuits this company. it's not our fault. It's the software update.

Dit it work? Have the same errors on the Mini. Replaced the IMU unit, still broken.

it really do be like that sometimes...
Do you can calibrate the mavic PRO ?
