Even though I deliver out in the boonies with Amazon Flex, 99% of the time I don't worry. Pets are usually locked up behind gates OR are incredibly friendly. That 1% of the time on Flex can really take you by surprise though. Even though situations like this can be scary, you always need to remember to think straight and think fast when the need arises.
Dog spray on Amazon is only about 10-15 dollars. Amazon needs to block that customer from all further deliveries and cancel their Prime.
That's terrible. I'm glad you are okay! I carry pepper spray in case. I have not encountered a crazy loose dog yet but that's scary. Plus you had to drive on crappy roads. An Amazon driver was attacked and killed by dogs in Missouri. Stay safe!

me too but i rather to call or text em to come and get it from my car lol i prefer drive-thru hand outs by their house.
Stay safe out there. I drive for spark as well. I hate when customers are not specific about where to put their orders nor mention anything about a gate code.
Was delivering an Amazon package and owners weren’t home. But there was a dog on the premises. It was barking growling but only came out around the corner when I was already at the garage so to late to drop off at start of driveway. Every time I turned around to walk away I could hear it chasing after me, only when I turn to face it did it stop chasing (Tail straight up) . Had to slow walk back to my truck parked on the street (Amazon drivers aren’t suppose to drive into driveway when driving the van).
Would love to be able to just leave ALL packages at the bottom of driveways but I’d get fired in a heartbeat. So how tf am I to protect myself against “wild pets”?!!

I had a pitbull charge at me similarly like you that was just loose in the front yard, no gates. Luckily the neighbor calmed the dog down. On another occasion, at an apartment, the owner opened the door and their little dog came out and started biting my ankle for no reason. Luckily that owner did apologize. Dog situations have cause me to do Amazon Flex a lot less.
Like heck if you have any fault in going into her property. Yeah, so many stupid dog owners blame the victim. I hate that.
How long did it take for you to get your email back from them after signing up with them? It's been two days for me and when I go into the app it just says I'm on an interest list and will receive an email
Yikes! Glad you are okay. I love dogs but have had a couple of encounters while doing Flex. I feel bad because in the beginning I didn't know how to report dogs on routes but now I've learned I ALWAYS mark it to alert future drivers. Stay safe out there! 🚗🌊🐕

Be careful.....i lost my car due to the water "puddle" delivering a spark order.
Same here, car is in the shop thanks to muddy pot hole from rural areas.
I once had toddler attempt to open the storm door when he saw me with a pitbull sitting right there I had to damn near dive to keep the door closed as the pitbulls head was halfway through. Then the mom comes running down and she was angry at me for hurting her dog, keeping him in the storm door, and she reported me because I got a call from Amazon about it.
That is very typical for a hole dog owners. Their precious pooch can do no wrong.
What a nasty delivery route that was. I hate going into gated yards just for that reason. I always shake the gate and make noise before entering. Glad you are ok. I would have needed a shot or two of Fireball to calm down. California drought was resolved in 2 weeks, what a mess. Southern AZ getting the tail end of the storms for the past week or so.
Spark has been dead in my area, really slow, low offers, shop and delivers dried up after the holidays, way to many new drivers. Have patience it will get better.

No, you are not allowed to put anything in mailboxes. They are for use only by mail carriers (usps, ups, etc)
@Gig Life actually only USPS can place item in your mailbox.
I've had many close calls back when I was a delivery driver for Amazon.Dogs, guns and etc.
Dogs aggressively bark and charge at you because THEY WANT TO BE WITH YOU & the FREEDOM THEY SEE YOU ENJOYING
