I miss Astennu on guitar. He was a true black metal guitarist, and played those wicked solos like they were the last notes on this earth 🖤
me too... love Galder, but he can't)))
@@Alejandrro I love Galder.
i wish they were pure satanists again no fuckin bullshit im gettin too fuckin old from atassan
hate jesus lovers posers fake satanists yas r all full of shit i am fuckin true hatebreed
Dimmu never pull off their amazing solos live. Such a shame.
WE ALL MISS, THAT (TRUE) DIMMU BORGIR....!!!
mustis and vortex were the heart and soul of dimmu
Dimmu at their absolute peak.
Pure cosmic terror.
Everyone talks about the Drummer so hard, but no one is mentioning how hard Mustis slays those keysssss. Just a soft, dark spirit soul. love him
Thanks for saying it! I love how he was always back and quiet giving to every song that special mood. For me, he was the cornerstone of Dimmu 🖤
Too bad he's been fired
and vortex vocals are epic
Yeah... Can agree more!
The new mainstream Dimmu Borgir simply live in the shadows of the old Dimmu borgir who made music with such an atmosphere and epic sound no one never had heard before.
1994 - For all tid
1996 - Stormblåst
1997 - Enthrone Darkness Triumphant
1999 - Spiritual Black Dimensions
Although there is a stain on Stormblast due to Stian's ripoffs.
Mustis, thank you for the years of music

Best Lineup...They say greatness cannot remain forever.... This is legendary
you are an amazing drummer Tjodalv
Too bad this lineup was short lived. I would kill to see this Dimmu again even if it’s just for one day.
Never say you'd kill
This is the dimmu i like
they moved on....so should all of us.
@@Smerkiest sorry, I'm not into dimmu nightwish
Their live energy is unbeliavable. Crowd is also very intense. This Dimmu Borgir was one of the best bands ever.
This lineup still is, the best band EVER
Im glad I found this upload. Epic. Best era of Dimmu. Hail King Astennu
The best line up they ever had.
They do not sounds like this anymore.
Thanks for sharing this great live performance.
Its 20 years ago. Of course not. Theyre adults now wtf
Was better with Nick
Nick Barker at drums was better
Do you still think the same today ?
Your right they sound better, they don't sound like this anymore
thanks for this amazing video, this was actually the most balanced line up with just the right amount of everything, Shagrath still had brutal vocals (last time was on Spiritual), Tjodalv applying just the right drumming, no one was over abusing anything...
Tjodalv
you are great
Tjodalv !!!!!!!!!
Amazing live concert.
Astennu and your wonderful guitar solo. Best formation ever. Truest.
Tjodalv is definitely my favorite for his drumming style, he definitely influenced me while learning drums. It must be said that he follows the rhythm in his own way :D Mustis is a gentleman to follow him so well. Anyway, best lineup ever, without any doubt.
I feel like he definitely has a tendency to rush, like on the breakdown/solo part in master of disharmony, he is way faster than the regular tempo, and just look at Astennu's fingers flying on that solo, its way faster than the album. In fairness, when you are performing live in front of an audience, your energy level is amped up, and a lot of musicians tend to rush. Kudos to the band for keeping up with him anyways even when he rushes, they definitely practice together a lot.
@@kaziglubey4455 Very well said
Don't mind me, just sitting here, enjoying their music and appreciating their glorious hair :3
My favourite era of the band.
My favorite era of Dimmu Borgir, Arcane Lifeforce Mysteria is my favorite song, underrated album Spiritual Black Dimensions! Solos from Astennu did bring some creepiness as synth sounds from Mustis! Tjodalv did a very great job! I cant imagine another drummer on those records instead Tjodalv, cause songs would sound different, but I like them as they are!
Dude! Their set list they played in this video is fucking SOLID! Just wish they can go back to playing their old stuff as well as playing in US again.
I was there ! my first black metal show....changed my life forever. But I can confirm it was not at the Medley but at the foufounes electriques. 700 peoples (overcapacity) upstairs having a blast !! Cheers for the good times Tjodalv !
Did you make any photos? If you got it, can you share?
Sadly no...no camera with me and I was just trying to survive and enjoy the show in all the chaos haha
Old dimmu is BRUTAL
This without a doubt, is the best Dimmu Borgir lineup, EVER!!!!!!
Love this Dimmu period, mature but stillling raw, no samples, no orchestra, very charismatic
I wish they would play Broderskapets Ring.
Tjodalv! This is an amazing performance. You were the best drummer to ever reign in DB.
Ehm....better than Nick Barker or Hellhammer?
@@wouterbmx072 Maybe not technically better but feels wise he suited the band better.
Fantastic concert how ever! Dimmu Borgir is my favourite band of Symphony Black Metal \m/
This formation was incredible also, one of the bests. Good times! \m/
Thank you very much Tjodalv for upload the full concert! This is a rare jewel \m/
!!kings of symphonic black metal forever and ever DIMMU BORGIR!!!!
20 years
The Ominous, Raw, Chaotic, Speed of Black Metal was one with Dimmu Borgir too bad they cannot reflect from this and go back to the roots... thanks for uploading this Epic Concert Tjodalv and thanks for the memories!
legendary line up.
WHAT A FUCKING GREAT CONCERT
With what demonic energy do they play! It rouses pure raw power within my soul! This is a Dimmu Borgir I would have loved to seen. Thanks for the upload.
24 years ago and I still come back to this, awesome! 🤘🤘love it when Vortex goes black metal vocals on reptile
Thank you for this footage Tjodalv!
Dimmu ❤❤❤
The best Dimmu lineup,from Malaysia
I was there !
Congratulations! You was so happy!!!
Wow!! Very amazingly awesome!!!!
Shagrath's vocals are fucking majestic.
Thanks so much for uploading this. This was Dimmu Borgir in their prime!
1:05:53 The Insight And The Catharsis the best song
1:06:05 astennu is nuts hahahaha
In my opinion, it's their best song ever made.
tremendo recital, si que era banda en esos tiempos Dimmu Borgir
Ese era el verdadero dimmu borgir lastima que evolucionaron demaciado en mi opinion
Listen to these keyboards ! Mustis is really a geniusö
I saw this line up in downtown L.A.
Amazing show it was!
You tube is a time machine!
Amazing!
So far this is my favorite dimmu borgir`s drummer, Tjodalv used play not just with his hands but also with his heart, I have watched some gigs with him, and listened for thousands times albums like enthrone darkness, spiritual black dimensions and godless savage garden and I can say that Dimmu borgir with Tjodalv is more black, evil and atmospheric! Hail from BRAZIL!
Mustis is also part of that old atmosphere created by Dimmu Borgir! Spiritual Black Dimensions is all about the keyboard lines! I think that so far he was the biggest loss for Dimmu Borgir. #BrasilNaCabeça
Agree with you. Tjodalv the best drummer for Dimmu!
Arcane Lifeforce Mysteria! The best dimmu borgir song ever made!
Agree man,and the atmosphere of the song amazing!
I love Arcane Lifeforce Mysteria in Ukraine!!!
I 100% agree!
I can't believe that just found this gem!
Удачи здоровья и долгих лет жизни желаю барабанщику, не думал что когда то увижу исполнение этих песен в живую
fucking epic line up, epic track list and epic quality ,thanks.
Imagine these guys play on your birthday party or whatever, in your living room..
Edwin van der Velden THAT WOULD BE AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE , THEY ARE MY FAVE FOREVER😈❤💋
Expectacular!!!! Enthrone Darkness Triumphant y Spiritual Black Dimensions lo mejor del Condado!!!!!!!!!
The best setlist!!
HAILS from Poland! Memories never remain, thanks!
Está fue la mejor formación en la historia de Dimmu Borguir Tjodalv fue irreemplazable 🤘
Nick Barker was awesome, too!
GOOD SHOW!!!!!! you're a great drummer!
Que clase de cierre de concierto, sin temor a equivocarme son muy pocas canciones de este concierto que ahora tocan en vivo... Dimmu 4Ever💯💯💯💥💥
Thanks so much for putting this out there! It's almost hard to imagine that dimmu used to be this fucking great!
Oh! Spiritual Black Dimensions... One of My favorite album from them...🤘😎🤘🇲🇾
The improvement of Tjodalv from 95-99 was quite impressive. You can hear he had been improving every year and Hellhammer helped him quite a bit...but then Nick's world class performance on Puritanical came and justified the sacking completely legitimately...
This is amazing, thank you.
Pure talent, no fucking backing tracks. "Just" guys playing, good music. Good old days!
Quinteto Explosivo TV Not the fucking symphonic with them, only 6 guys with talent, RIP Dimmu Borgir
Spiritual Black Dimensions was their best
weird way to spell enthroned darkness triumphant
Enthrone Darkness Triumphant > SBD....
Stormblåst. The original, not the rerecorded pile of garbage. EDT, SBD and PEM are awesome, but to me no album can compare to Stormblåst. The atmosphere is amazing.
Abracadabra
The White Album was their best
I was fucking there!!!
you're a lucky bastard :D
goddamn lucky sob
Lucky guy.
Gracias por el concierto 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Qué tiempos!!!
Holy shit!!! Thank you so much for posting this show!!!
I was there & it kicked ass!!!
Thansk Död-alf for uploading. Cool Concert.
Barker, mustis, vortex the best line up ever in dimmu. Great
Goddamn I love this band so much. Awesome video 🤘🏻
I love dimmu borgir, always been my top 1 since I first got into metal
Did anyone else notice how Astennu play his other guitar on:
16:52 United In Unhallowed Grace
21:44 The Blazing Monoliths Of Defiance
26:50 Reptile
Right before united in unhallowed grace starts you can hear Aatennu check the tuning for the low B string.
That guitar is tuned down to B standard... which means I have to redo my guitar tabs hahahahha I had my suspicions that either downtuned of 7 strings were used on for the blazing monoliths recording.
I checked the abum, for as far as I can tell, only behind the curtain of night is e standard guitar tuninf. All other songs have parts that are played in beadgb tuning alog with e standard guitar.
Seriously, after +-20 years I still dicover new things on spiritual black dimensions
What a great upload...thank you so much from Portugal.
These solos are so awesome!
Thanks Tjodalv!
Thank you very much Tjodalv! You've been a great influence on me as a drummer and after 14 years of drumming I still enjoy playing along to Enthrone Darkness Triumphant. What a great album and drumming. I just still to this day can't play the blastbeat on Tormenting. That part is INSANE! Hails to you!
Astennu is a fucking beast! Damn I miss the old Dimmu.
Spiritual black dimensions is the best metal album ever! Mustis is the best one! All the band in this line up is simply perfect!
Spiritual .... was the first album I got of theirs, I prefer For All Tid & Enthrone...., although Spiritual... brings back lots of memories it has the feel of a transition period I guess, never thought about it before, and after this album 3 members were replaced. Some of the keys have that harpsichord sound which instantly reminds me pirate/galleon ships from 90s video games. The production was kind of in fashion during the late 90s, even though it stands out and takes getting use to it wasn't over done as others were. This show was really cool to see, I hadn't seen any live stuff from this period before.
Fuck this lineup is siiiiiiiick!
Increible cambiaria muchos conciertos para volver a ver esa formacion! o vivir ese concierto!
Awesome set. The best lineup hands down. Tjodalv is a beast on those drums.
you can headbang with "Dimmu Dimmu" of the audience!
not even need to start the music. it's already brutal!
Never knew that Tjodalv could actually play SBD stuff live. I saw them later on in this tour in the Netherlands and he had been replaced by Nick. I talked to Jamie and Oyvind before the show only to find out then he had been replaced by Nicolas and they said Kenneth (Tjodalv) was more of a studio drummer. But hearing this 25 years later I am kinda baffled. His drumming improved a lot compared to the split videocassette release with Dissection, which was after EDT.
Check the latest Astennu interviews regarding Tjodalv - they wanted Nick since '97, but didn't kick Tjodalv out until after this gig. It was just because of the technical prowess Nick displayed, while Tjodalv didn't have the best memory in a live setting. Though, if you hear his input in Old Man's Child, you would have seen that he improved in short time, and he was invited back in Dimmu in 2004, but declined.
The best Dimmu songs!
12:02 yeah Tjodalv great fill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fucking raw power
wow these guys really know how to put on a show
rip to that girls voice in the beginning
Fckdamn that version of Reptile is out of this world 🖤
I love this lineup!
Wow, this is a fantastic gig!
Tjodalv was and is a beast on drums
one of the best..🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
Awesome
Tjodalv, what a drumer. My favorite for my "air drumming".
