Hey man. Just found your channel. I have to say you're my favorite kind of people. People who just figure shit out for themselves and get it done. I'd definitely buy you a beer. Keep being awesome 👍
That is a nice, comprehensive chain stock build. The only thing I would have done differently is put steel rims on. Aluminum rims can break if they get hit hard enough. Other than that, that build was well thought out. Congratulations on winning your debut derby!
I'm a ford guy but probably not the best choice of car. Lol.... Taurus do some really funky things when they bend😂 If built correctly they will hold up kinda well..kinda
Wouldn't have been easier to pull out all the glass then to breaking it then have to swipe it up and hopefully you get it all so you don't get cut or get some of the fine pieces of glass in your skin. Every car I see they remove all of the dashboard . And just behind the front seat the bar you put in I normally see steel going up on both sides of the car and steel going across the top of the roof. I see steel inside going across the driver's door so when you get hit on the driver's door it doesn't come into the car and hit you.
It was very easy to suck out the bottom of the door panels. There was zero glass remaining. Also, this was a compact unibody chassis demo derby. Different rules, then full frame derby. I did the bar exactly how the rules wanted it, and It passed inspection with flying colors. The demo video is coming very soon! Stay tuned.

@@MeleeMotorswhat's a good car that's older to demo
Lumina, Regal, Gran Prix for front wheel drive are good. For rear wheel drive Ford crown vic and Chrysler Imperial are very popular
@@MeleeMotors thank u

Thank you so much! And yes, that's a great point. Steel rims would definitely hold up better.
When I saw brand new struts I was just yelling 'PICK AND PULL' so much cheaper than brand new
Unfortunately, in Alaska, we don't have places like that.
That's so unfortunate@@MeleeMotors
Bar behind the seat also stops the car from braking at the pillars and causing it to buckle
Dutch tape your radiator hoses as much as you can it will help them not brake or get cut
If you cut the holes bigger on the hood you can use them as fire holes on the incase of a fire
All great tips! Thanks
I am watching from Elmira NY so you think a hearse would make a demolition derby car.

@@MeleeMotors wow! That's hard to believe..but awesome!!
Were there no camrys or w bodys in that heat??? 😀
It was a compact only derby, only uni body frame. No full frames allowed. I posted the derby video. Go check it out!
@@MeleeMotors I'll check it out!... I study the heats intently...
