اسلام وہ ہے جو رسول پاک ص نے سکھایا ہے اور انھوں نے کم کھانےکی ترغیب دی ہے انحضرت ہر سال رمضان کا مہینہ روزہ رکھا کرتے تھے اسکے علاوہ ہر مہینے ایام بیض میں تین روزہ رکھا کرتے تھے اور ہر پیر اور جمعرات کو روزہ رکھتے تھے اسیطرح بقرعید کے شر وع کے نو دنوں میں بھی اور عاشورہ کے موقع پر بھی اور کیئ دفعہ آ پ فجر کےبعد جب گھر تشریف لاتے اور گھر میں کچھ کھانے کو نہ پاتے تو روزہ رکھ لیتے پھر آپ ص کو صوم وصال کی اجازت دی گئی تھی لہاذا کبھی کبھی لگاتار دو تین دن کے روزے بغیر افطار کئے رکھ لیتے تھے ان سب باتوں کے باوجود اماں عائشہ فرماتی ہیں کہ آپ ص نے کبھی جو کی روٹی لگاتار دو دنوں تک پیٹ بھر کر نہیں کھائ لہذا آپ سے گزارش ہے کہ کسی بھی عمدہ قسم کے کھانے کو دین سے نہ جوڑیں صل اللہ علیہ و علی آلہ و سلم
