This song is the musical embodiment of spring. It has a wonderful lightness and joy that no other piece has ever come close to, including those by classical composers centuries ago. As a virtuoso jazz guitarist (born ten years after the Beatles had split up) once told me: "When the word "Beatles" is said, the eyes of musicians from every genre and style light up. One of the "Glee" cast members was performing "Here Comes the Sun" and I spontaneously said, "Oh, George!" He said, "I thought that song was by The Beatles!" I said, "It was, but George Harrison wrote it." Then he said, "I thought Paul wrote all their songs." I was using binoculars. Rundgren was playing Clapton‘s old Gibson SG called the fool. I could see every detail of the cool paint job. Ringo was running a loosely crushed high hat mounted on his bass drum. And of course he also had an operable hi hat. With a combination of high hats like that and a piccolo snare off to the left of my regular snare I was able to do some very interesting work. Lots of very accomplished musicians would come stand behind my kit to see my chops.

it would have been nice if George would have been able to have contributed more of his music to the Beatles albums. i didn't like all of his stuff, but many of them Don't Bother Me etc; offered a different musical perspective that enriched the experience
    of listening to them.

George deserved four songs on Abbey Road. His songwriting was the best in the band in 1969. John's triumph was A Hard Days Night. Paul's was Sgt Pepper's. George's should have been Abbey Road.

@@neilpemberton5523 Ya, he was maturing as a songwriter. His song 'Beware of Darkness' and ' My Sweet Lord'
are gorgeous tunes that touched on some emotions that few songwriters are able to express. Unfortunately
tho for George his 'experience' with 'My Sweet Lord' kinda crippled his creative development and had (i believe) a stymied effect on that development. He got ripped-off. What could have been didn't happen

Sometimes I wish they had decided to do a whole album of George's music when they were squabbling with each other as a way to bring them all back together on the same page. It would have been the ultimate act of selflessness, especially on the part of John and Paul. As 'All Things Must Pass' proved, George had a lot of great tunes they could have done.

I'm very curious about what guitar George is using. It's not his Ramirez because the Ramirez has concentric dark circles around the sound hole. Also the neck looks narrower. I can't see the headstock well enough to see a name. It looks a lot like a '60s lightweight 00 or 000 Martin. But at 1:21 you can see the headstock and it doesn't look like the Martin logo. I really want to know!
Update: I was looking into this more, and George said this was Eric's guitar. I still wonder what model of guitar it is.
