I feel like for the Disney + version they should’ve used The designs from the movie instead of reprinting the same book a third time, I know it probably would’ve been a bit controversial but at least it’s something more different than just a change of cover. Plus it would’ve been a kind of a novelty item only the collectors (and or new readers) would get

@@Dan_Finnegan right! I’m glad someone agrees, because I saw it in barns and nobles and remember per my years read that book and was excited to see the new art, and to my disappointment it was the same. Like my face literally went from 😄->😕 in like a minute 😆

the problem with that is that it would be really expensive to print, but I think it would've been worth the money. guess the publishers didn't think so
to be honest with you zach was a great actor for greg and when i read a wimpy kid book in my head i hear his voice reading it im not even kidding..

These are cool, I just wish they provided a little extra material and not just new covers.
I agree, I think they should have included some new content or made some of the drawings in the style of the 3D animation from the upcoming movie in the Disney+ cover reissue. That would’ve been awesome.
Or maybe, for the cheesy edition, all of the cheese in the book would be coloured in yellow. It would’ve been a nice small touch
@@MrMobiIeGaming Actually, that is a real addition they did, every single instance that the cheese appears, it has now been colored yellow.
Well, at CHEESIEST Edition they colored the cheese yellow, but the Disney+ animation version only changed the cover, I wanted the book to have the animation traces or even a color edition of the book.

I ordered the cheesiest edition a few years ago but it lost in the post. Probably because it had to come all the way across the Atlantic Ocean.

I wonder if they'll ever release full color editions of this series. Although to be honest, I don't think the books needs color. I really like the simple black and white art style as the minimalist use of color the reader imagine whatever colors they want in the books.
The 2007 edition is still wonderful. I remember it taking my school by storm like it was yesterday
When i first saw the new book advertisement i expected it to be the book rowley and greg were holding but i prefer the lockers and everything in the background

The books (up to like #9) and the first three movies are extremely timeless, which is something that later entries lacked. Jeff Kinney had to appeal to modern kids, while at the same time parodying his own middle school days in the early 1980s (he was born in 1971). Starting around book 10, he modernized it a bit by adding stuff like cell phones and modern tech.
The first 10 were great, then it started to slack

I have the actual 2007 printed version. Where you see the characters lined up, for my copy it doesn’t advertise any other books and on the front cover, it doesn’t say one New York Times bestseller. So basically I have the first edition
The film honestly wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. In fact I thought it was great
I agree. I do think it could have been longer and covered more material from the book, but I did enjoy it.

My young cousins love diary of a wimpy kid . They read all the books and I’ve heard they’re hilarious and so outstanding. 20th century studios and Disney did a fantastic job doing this movie .

I have a paper cover version of the older release as it says "COMING SOON: Book Two Diary of a Wimpy Kid-Rodrick Rules" inside above the illustrations of each characters.

Why haven’t they made a full color version yet?!
The special addition actually has one slight difference. On the pages with the cheese, it’s actually coloured yellow unlike in the original book where it’s just a standard black-and-white because it’s a diary- I MEAN journal and he’s just using pencil and nothing else.
Great! Even though the 2017 edition is no big deal, just highlighting the colorful cheese, for 10 years of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and the new edition only changes the cover, it's perfect for collectors!

Just ordered the Cheesiest Edition a few hours ago! I haven't read a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book since 2011 when Cabin Fever released (I was 7), but all of the memes made me want to get back into the series and reread it :)

Not sure about yours but when I got my cheesiest edition book, the cover was puffy.
My cover feels a little puffy as well, not sure why.

I feel like the Cheesiest Edition one instead of just coloring the cheese maybe all of the pictures could be in color. And I wish the DisneyPlus one should be the same when it comes to the wording but the drawings should be in 3D

I think they did not use animated designs for the characters in the disney plus doawk book because they cut some parts from the disney plus doawk movie.
There's a rare 1 and it's only 1 and a RUclipsr got it, it's the signed editon.
