I mean, just because you're innocent doesn't mean you don't need a lawyer. The police use psychological trickery to force a confession out of you even if it's false, with lies and threats. Having a lawyer present helps keep you calm and catch things you miss due to the extreme stress, so you don't accidentally incriminate yourself when you are innocent.
I have no idea, but my guess would be that if you're innocent and a suspect to something you didn't do, having a lawyer and be compliant but educated about it is actually a very good idea. Last you want is to panic and say things that DO get you in trouble or hinder an investigation
Thank you so much for saying this. I would lawyer up as well even if I got nothing to hide, it's only fishy if the suspect refuses to answer things that a reasonable person in their apparent position would find helpful to the case
it also blows my mind sometimes whenever the "suspect" is accused of murdering due to bankruptsies and also trying to cash in with life insurance what kind of life insurance money can cover [luxury, entertaiment, daily needs and a lawyer to go against a murder suspection hell a homocide/serial if he killed the wife and kid]
Nonono, the boy survived! Dad was in the clear (The (ex)boyfriend got a burglar to rob the place but since they were broke he shot them all. The (ex)boyfriend didn't know they were broke, he did this to get his girlfriend back after scaring her mother (No idea how that works but okay)) At the end of the episode they reunite and mourn their loss together...
I wish there was no music in these police show... Would add to the immersion... IRL, when they investigate, I doubt there's a background music to add suspense lmao

I saw this a LONG time ago, but if I recall correctly; the farther was innocent (and hank did apologise saying he’s seen too many cases where it was the family member) I think it was the boyfriend (in video) or the friend of the boyfriend, who believed the family was really rich and had a lot of jewellery (cus the parents hadn’t told their kids they were going bankrupt and had sold all their precious belongings) and the daughter (girlfriend of the boyfriend who was obsessively in love with her) had given the boyfriend the impression she was still rich. The boyfriends friend was in financial trouble? And trying to help, the boyfriend told him about his girlfriends rich family so he went and tried to rob them. He didn’t know the family was home at the time and when he found them there he demanded they gave him all their jewellery (which of corse they didn’t have) so he shot them. mother and daughter dead, the young boy survived and ran away to hide. The boyfriend didn’t know he would do this (he was unhealthily obsessed with the daughter and her parents had actually forbidden her to see him again a few weeks prior, so this led the police to thinking he did it, which he denied saying he would never hurt her, and when he told the police they should have just handed over the jewels so this didn’t happen, the police told him they were broke this whole time and he looks like his whole world shatters. This may not be completely correct, I’ve probably forgotten something, but like I said, it was a long time ago so I did my best for ya!

I agree I find Police who don't want you to have a lawyer present suspicious.
Cops are good

Most lawyers know best when it comes to point of law and advice on what to disclose or not. Exercise that right.

These old cases were the best, they were so exciting
That was when Chicago PD was great! Al, Antonio, Hank etc. Now it’s soap opera boring as it’s only about couples in the team.
Yeah, it's just a boring and un fresh.
It went from HORROR/adventure to ROMANCE

Got feeling something so far away from adding up to the truth I don't know what it is yet RESPECT TO ALL
I absolutely hate when police officers act like that !
Why
Act like what
Like they want to force you into confession? As in “everyone is guilty until proven otherwise”?
@@welcometotheinternet574 it’s actually “innocent until proven guilty”. Always has been, always will be.
@@CozzySoT In theory, not in practice.

This is so realistic. They should do more!
Hank is such a POS, in every single episode, I hate the guy so much. Plus wtf is that voice? Stop smoking you shthead...
Dude could have said he borrowed money from the wrong people and thats why his family was attacked. Would have covered his tracks for a bit
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏adoro esse cara. A voz do dublador também é perfeita.

ive seen this, the dad was clear
Who did it than?
The boys sister's boyfriend/exboyfriend told someone to scare the mother
...did the policeman apologize? I feel like he treated him like shite for nothing.
@@veronicasassi5544 I think so, and the dad said he understood why they treated him like that I believe

7:50 - At this point, with all Voight has said to him, "I want to see my lawyer now" is effectively a confession.
