Everyone who got to grow up in the 90s should feel privileged.
It was such a special and unique time for the world, between music ; the advancement of technology , and the dawn of the internet.
We get to remember what it was like without phones and internet as well as experience all the benefits that came with it.
Kids today will never understand.
The world and the music will never be the same.
I was saying this a few weeks ago. We are truly a special generation.
True shit ..
You forgot sports !! We had the greatest too . Jordan Tyson just to name a few
lies that's all in your head
Hurray,we dem niggaz
The 90's man, those 9 years i can't even think of a word to describe it. Just the music alone, everything was different.
I agree
Well at least someone does
The best hiphop era....meeen! Every track that dropped was unique
It was beautiful
Treach a legend. I love how he keeps Pac alive.
💯
No cap
Luv how Treach quiccly says "It wasnt overnight we worked on it..."
Some of us never let that era go Math. We still out here.
Fax bro
I know I didn't...I play my 90s hip hop and r&b at work and the younger generation that works with me love it...like it's old to me...but new to them..SALUTE TO MATH HOFFA AND TREACH!!!
@@santoniobrown8562 same ...90s hip hop almost every day
💯💯💯
💯 Facts
90's hip-hop is the soundtrack to my childhood!! WONDERFUL times!! Salute to you, Math!!
I agree
90s ,the illest decade for rappers....Today's rap is laughable in comparison
Super laughable, it's sad
We are lucky to grow up in that era. This era is absolutely terrible!
What about rnb worse its dead
@@samsamboi4042 today's RnB uses popular 90's rap song lyrics. It's so cringy!
I can remember in the 90s being on the block or in class with my friends arguing about who is better (Pac, Nas, or Biggie), (Jodeci, R. Kelly, or Boyz II Men), (SWV or TLC)..just thinking about it now is unreal. The 90s seem like a dream😓
I am so glad I grew up in the 90s. Music, style, artistry. That decade had it all. Wu tang is one group and every single one of them would shut the game down today.
FACTS!!!!
16 different styles and they made it all make sense every time. But the 90s music 🔥
well said
Check out Rza's Kung fu theatre ep
Noting but facts said here 👏🏾👏🏾
The 90's...what a time to be Alive!
I can't Believe I lived it I'm still in aww💯💯💯❤🤷🏽
seriously! my only regret is i wasnt in my 20s not my teens during that time! would’ve loved to party in the clubs during those times!
The 90s was a special decade.... the 90s for my generation is what the 70s were to my big bros 💯
Yes!
90s was the shit . The balance of the music on a mainstream level will never be duplicated. From conscious to party to gangster , etc artist all being played on radio / mixtapes . The different styles , you had to be original as possible when I was a teen in 90s . Can’t forget the R&b to ballads to neo soul . Great era for music .
“O-P-P, those boys MEAN that” 😂🤣💀
😂😂😂😂EPIC!!!
Unfortunately 🥴
The best era of Hip Hop!
Right!
It’s like we in the twilight zone with the bs that dominate the game now
The 90s was a beautiful time musically. Everybody brought their own to the table and yes you couldn't sound like anybody else...but everyone could spit...
I was just in Ghana and they had Naughty By Nature t-shirts in the mall. That era of hiphop is still radiating around the world and NBN is a huge reason why.
nothing beats 90's hip hop. Glad I lived through it..
I went bald in the 90s Treach is not lying got so much play 😂😂
Facts fam starting losing mine in 90 my sophmore yr in college- cut that shit off and they was all over me👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿😁😁😁
Its because the brothers head resembles a smooth d---k head....that's what the honeys told me.
The wide spectrum of variety that made up Hip Hop in the 90s is what will make it stand apart forever.
The 90s was special, less depressed, hanging outside, no cameras all in ur face, even chilling on the block was different, even the drug dealers where I grew up stopped selling when kids were going and coming from school, use to get the ice cream truck for the whole block, give bikes to whoever got a good report card, block parties were epic, the music, the style, dances, what a time man, what I don’t allow my kid to do in 2022, kids were allowed to do back then, knew all your neighbors, NYC is definitely not the same ! Glad I got to experience it
I remember grabbing the cassette single of O.P.P and HIP HIP HURRAY in the 90’s. Naught was a phenomenon. To this day that Juice soundtrack is the illest ever. Every track could be a single. Salute to Treach and Naughty. That was the TRUE Golden Era.
Treach one of the greatest of all time this guy a legend for real
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THE GOAL WAS, TO BE AUTHENTIC 100%
I wish some of these current rappers could watch this interview, and soak up these gems y’all are sharing. I’m still listening to music from the 90s.
The Box made every state's local acts stars and Naughty had four videos when they came to our town it was fire
Real rap, I asked a 22 yr old bout Scarface and he straight looked at me like I was speaking Chinese and proceeded to tell me that he must have been a nobody … I wanted to slap him🤬🤬🤬
LOL!
My Artist on my label doesn’t know who Jadakiss is smh
@@MainyD WTF🤬🤬🤬 drop him from the label… he shouldn’t even be rapping!!! WOW
Estrogen in the food and too much weed/pills done made these young boys not care about anything...history, culture or family. They've been feminized and dont know it.
Wow
I remember video jukebox. The 90's was da best.
Man I need 100 parts of this interview lol
Beat Biter. Dope Style Taker
☀️🍉🖤Tell it to your face, you ain't nothing but a faker🔥🔥🔥
Proud of Math man💪🏾💪🏾 All these convos flow so well like ngas just really wrapping about chtt after the barbershop closes.. Authenticity💯
Man that's so true about Cali. Even the way the music made us bob our heads is real chill
Whatever Treach was drinking must have heightened the reminiscence of the story. It gave it a whole different level of euphoria ... His body language said it all
I started my bald head in '89 I was 14.... I miss that Era from 89"-97... Ain't nothing like the old school ...
Exactly. No more individualism, no more originality, Everyone had their own swag in the 90s. All the Bussy boys in ATL messed up Hip Hop. My fav era was def the G-Funk Era tho. 92-96 was str8🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yea the new South is trash 🗑. And I’m born & raised in FLA 🌞The 90s south was real. Outkast,8Ball&MJG,UGk,Goodie Mobb,JtMoney,NoLimit,CashMoney,LilJon east side Boy’s,Ludacris,36 Mafia,PastorTroy. The South was different back then. This new shit trash
I feel like the Soulja boy era started the downfall lol. G-Unit era was the last that was real and street
@@PlatinumHustle yep it was the ring tone era
@@PRiMETiME_-bi1od exactly. Ima 93 baby from South Florida too (Palm Beach County). My older cousin put me on OutKast, 8ball&MJG, UGK all that. But Cash Money from 96-2000 was the era 👌🏾👌🏾. Everyone had gold perms 😂😂😂
Agreed
Treach knows how to tell a story
The 90s Hip Hop is surely missed by me. Like they said everybody had they own style and flow and you was not allowed to copy another person swag what so ever. So many flavors of music and styles to be a fan of. I'm from the midwest in Chicago and I got to enjoy east coast music, down south music and west coast. Matter fact I still have my cassettes tapes of the music. I can't get rid of them for some reason lol. I luv hip hop
Agreed..I'm from the west and will neva get rid of my cassettes!
90's record companies' greed birthed this new microwave hiphop...there was many opportunities for hiphop to create our own ecosystem, our own reparations but the ones that thrive seem to be comfortable with the status quo of "fill MY pockets off your work"...
Thats one thing that was dope about the 90s, i still to this day play wkcr stretch n bobitto tapes to kids and theyre in awe, asking who was that, rewind that part. And all there styles were unique, everyone sounded different even the beatmakers had there own sounds, nowadays they all produce the same sound. And im from New york, we play mobb deep and kids from other states look at us like were crazy and hardcore and shit, they dont realize what was poppin in NY back in the day Nas, Biggie, Mobb deep. From like 93 to 97 was nuts. The same way the south has there rappers and culture, and DC has there go go. New york has Nas, Big L, Mobb deep, production wise pete rock, Large professor, premier ,beat minerz ,ez elpee, thats New yorks classic sound and culture. MF doom theres tons of cats, tons. Scaramanga(INSANE unique style), Godfather don, OC, Grand puba, Slick rick, Omniscence (SUPER UNDERRATED), Rodan, Mekolicious (Another underrated cat), Mic geronimo, Large professor, Mathematik, Gangstarr (GURU RIP), Ed OG, Grap Luva, Capone n noreage (CNN Shoutout queens), G-dep, Percee P, Grafh(Crazy unique style), Royal flush. And many many more. These are all cats who can spit amazing
TREACH is New Jersey BEST✨️🏆✨️
Poor Righteous Teachers gotta be on this list somewhere...
Say something positive… Well Positive ain’t where I live ….Epic Line
💯% The Best Rap, Era was the 90’s
The Uncle Luke part had me dying 🤣 😂
Its good seeing Treach in this mode.
Grew up under this brother. He a real one. They def put in that work wayyyyyyy before they blew up!!!! Jersey Stand UP!!!!!!
Treach is a natural…Whoever provide him the podcast platform is winning Big.
He is definitely not lying about throwing the panties on the stage! This is my dude we have ran together grew up together and I was backstage with them at plenty of parties! I have never met a more professional group as naughty by nature! From the way they came on stage to the way they left it it was like watching poetry In motion! In the group did not hang together like you may think. They were all individuals that came together when it was time to! KG had his thing, and Vinny had his thing. But once they came together it was magical!
Vinny was vastly underrated to me. But its still Jersey all day!
Naughty by Nature. Turkey 🇹🇷 Christmas 1992. I was 9 and my mom got me this because "O.P.P." was my jam. The first rap album I ever owned. Took a few years until I understood what it was really about 😂.
I love this interview
Treach is so funny that even Bigga, who ain't usually with that kinda chat, had to contain a laugh 10:33
Treach a comedian😂😂😂😂😂
Treach is a funny dude 🤣
HOFFA GANG
You know his age when he describes weed as the bomb 😂😂
My cousin treach been ruthless and he do karate I think nobody want to fight him he's different
Oh my goodness the nostalgia of this entire conversation. Video Music Box was an entire vibe.🙌🏼 These kids today will never understand.
Facts....we smoke and ride....no rush....SAN DIEGO....THAT PCH IS THE TRUTH
and yall got the most stank-est weed avaliable. All that good Cali sun....Im coming
When Naughty dropped OPP they did a show in Strong Island at a club called: Tribeca in Baldwin... Treach puts on an incredible performance... Met him years later he modeled at a same show I was doin in Manhattan... He still was mad cool but his aura was ultra magnetic...
Grand Ave...
@@EffDinero8 I see you was in the building... 💪🏽
Little Known Fact... In Jason's Lyric during the scene where Alonzo, his crew and Josh are sitting on the porch plotting the robbery, for a moment the camera wuz above Treach's head. U could clearly see the bald spot he's speaking of in this video.
💫✨💫✨💯 That's why Today is a million times different then now. It was biting to sound and look like anyone. The authenticity of Jersey people still lives today though. 💯
This is best description of Cali culture/vibe I’ve heard.
Is it me or did everybody in the room had an awkward look on there face when he said this was the best part of the show 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Facts
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
I love the interview MTV Naughty by Nature , and Trech said if I wasn't doing music I would be running up in yo house😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆! I LOVE HIM❤️
Somebody tell me when we transitioned from biting somebody style was wack to where it became cool? Nowadays alot of people sound a like.
I still play feel me flow!!! I love treach also he's a fine wine and gets better and better with age! 🔥🔥 90s music nothing love it and the style with clothing. Im thankful for growing up in the 90s
The Golden era of Hip Hop was definitely the Business. Oh the glory. I miss the day when we would literally lose our mind when a beat dropped. This new era is trash to me.
TREACH IS THE MOST REALIST BROTHER I KNOW…!!!!!!!!!
Salute Math
Thank you for this⛓
funny as hell treach true legend
I miss them days. The men were masculine and a lot of fun.
As a man, I love this comment. Thank you.
Yes, there is a lot of estrogen and sloppiness in hiphop today. I know you couldnt show up all flowery and skinny in Philly back then. You would get tested.
Great interview👌🏾... Shout out to my hometown North Miami, Fl✊🏾
🔥🔥🔥In oakland we used to watch "the box"
😂😂😂😂 Every ep is🔥🔥🔥🔥 thus far
Math Hoffa bringing the Heat 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
GREAT COMMENTARY! THANKS!
I love revisiting this topic. I remember video JukeBox too. Man those were absolutely the golden days.
Math shouldve asked him about the famous Naughty pool and block parties those shyts was lit in the 90's
I Feel You On That OG. When me and my group was on tour. We couldnt wait for the after party. We cut up after the show New Orleans style. Them females couldnt get enough of us

Best interview with the homie Treach I’ve seen by far
Am enjoying this,...you need to bring Treach back, the litest podcast ever👑🔥
This is Dope! I Never Knew Trech was That Funny and Animated 😂
I was a little kid in this era, I didn't even think about the groupies Naughty by Nature was pullin. Its dope to hear Treach talk about his success like this , I'm bout to play it back . 👏🏽👏🏽
This is becoming my-favorite podcast
Video jukebox wasn't a pay to watch service. That was The Box. I remember how sir mix a lot video put'em on the glass use to play mad down in Miami.
Thanks Math💯💯💯💯⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
Very good show
Damn I miss the 90's smh
Same!
Can somebody tell me why Bigga has been so quiet in lot of these episodes, bc I know right now at 11:23, he is reciting scriptures due to him being so uncomfortable right now.
Na he just realized at that moment treach a wierdo the alcohol brought it out🤣
When he spit the ox I was dead 💀😂🤣🤣
Treacherous 💯 the Juk box ,IN CHICAGO We just called it THE BOX💯
Lol at the random white boy sitting and listening casually in the background 😂
I remember when Shine first came out no one was feeling him cause he sounded like BIG so much. Now every rapper sound alike... like clones.
That era of rap was so important to the hip hop culture. Naughty was there and had very much to do with the change.
Westside Inglewood Cali! 🤟🏾
Miss those days, the artist were so different sounds really unique and you just listen and you can tell the artist so glad I was in that era 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Lmfao SHOUTS to Uncle Vin that I STILL run into EVERY til this day in EVERY random ass place in Essex County!!!
And I will STILL show up to every show in the SAME black n yellow “Jersey By Nature” tee. Also…SHOUT out to Ill Town!
Ps REopen the Naughty STORE downtown on Halsey!
