Hi I just had this same problem. I found the permanent fix! It is the springs in the one way starter clutch . They wear out over time and are affected by heat making them loose "springyness". I replaced the whole starter clutch but probably could have just replaced the springs.
Had the same issue, on the same bike, fixed the same way. Don't know why though because mine was pretty clean in the first place . Anyway thank you for the video it saved my sanity. Could NOT figure out what was wrong(still haven't really). Thanks
I brought a starter clutch and it said it takes like 3 hours to replace. Mine starts right up but after a long drive it has to cool down for clutch to engage and start

To replace the starter clutch, you remove cvt assembly and it’s behind that? Did you use a new OEM starter clutch?
Long live the Riva. Still one of the best Scoots out there
