Yeah, that's super cool. I love all kinds of bands on the spectrum from forty Second grand core songs to 12 to 40 minute. Doom psychedelic metal songs.

God, at 54:55 you see Cav's shouting to Stu "Gila!?". These guys have no plan, setlist on the fly. Good stuff
You can also see Joey signaling they have 10 minutes left right after finishing Supercell, before starting Gaia and subsequently Gila right after.
they have overall options, their guitars are tuned different so are restricted to specific songs. but yeah their songs are combined all the time best band of all

how dare you? every Gizz set is meticulously arranged on an Excel spread sheet on a computer where many the factors and variants come that into play for every show are painstakingly arranged and rearranged, with every decision agonised over until, with the use of musical composition, Geography, Mathematics, Psychology, gut feeling and witchcraft, the perfect set for that exact movement in time will be invented and also discovered, a grand design and a gift from the Gods. but as perfect as it may be, that set can never be repeated ever again. Superstition, like Stevie Wonder who would never read from a set list but magically never forgot what song he was about to perform next. The Gizz never waste paper printing lists out for all the members. Its a members duty to not only remember and perform their parts of the songs but also remember the order in which they are set. the band can't be playing Straws in the wind while Cav is playing the beats from Self Immolation no matter how tight and inventive his drumming skills may be. no what we are witnessing here is a man in a rapid decline living the "rock and Roll" lifestyle, which many have fallen to the depths of hell before him but not all ego's are strong enough to withstand. remember Tina Turner who recently passed, Snoop Doggy Dogg who is a skeleton of the canine he once was and Aaron Carter whos big brother Nick, is a famous singer for the Backstreet Boys, recently overdosed in the bath whilst huffing spray cans of keyboard cleaner. unfortunately I could see Cav dancing with his demons long ago but in public and especially on camera his hides behind his mask, playing the sweet, mentally challenged, clown man, a gentle giant who wouldn't hurt a fly, but would slap himself in the face trying to kill the pests that that were draw to him.But Stu and the boys would never allow fly spray or Aerogaurd to be dispersed into their environment. maybe it was for the best. RIP Aaron Carter. I watched this Drummer transform over the years into one of the best drummers in King Lizard, and he has finally archived this after bullying and belittling former Gizz favourite, drummer, Pete Best, who quit the band in disgust with Cav, who's mean spirted and unhygienic ways became to much for him handle. after a gig, whilst slurping a bottle of bourbon he would gleefully tell fans he was the real Gizzard drummer and that he plays most on all drums on the Gizzard albums. Cav was always trying to one up and make a fool of his bongo brother. Like Cav stealing his drum sticks, only to return them with traces of his own urine and/or feces befouling the wood and then hands, now moist with sweat, as he struggled to keep a solid tempo and his food down, whilst dry reaching along to a high energy rendition of Rattlesnake. Cav would always joking call him Ricky in reference to the Def Leppard drummer who lost an arm to the rock and roll lifestyle, but still managed to play successfully on the bands albums using his one arm and many specially designed foot pedals. But this was all good fun for Cav, just like the Booze, Drugs and the finest Lady Boys money could buy, while partying all night with new friends like Molly Meldrum. As the "other" drummer of Gizzard left a mandatory band rehearsal for the last time, and realising this band practice was only for him to listen and to learn a new Gizzard album that had been released a month ago without him even knowing they had been recording, "i thought we were in lock down, but they were jamming on Zoom. they said Cav said he had sent me the link, such BS". As he sat through each new track whilst the other members excitingly explained the brilliance of the new music and explaining the meanings of each song, all while gushing over each others and their own performances on each song. "As each new beat or drum fill came, Cav, who was laying on a couch nodding off, eyes would burst open and stare towards me with amazement at his own playing and screaming drunkenly over the loud music about each time signature, "It's in 7/8, Ricky, but its different counting, 1-2 1-2 1-2 1" or " I'm doing that with my feet, 2 kick pedals" as if he invented the double kickers and back to "1-2- 3- 4 and 1 more" As Stu and Joey nodded their heads furiously as they played air drums in my face, getting closer and closer, jumping out of seats to hit imaginary tom toms on my head or choke a cymbal on my nose as Cav would glance at them, like a Doctor looking at the parents of a sick child and just shake his head and look towards the ground. Ahh, big dopey Cav counting to seven all these years and not knowing the significance, and now minus one equals six. But I had some parting words for my now Ex drum bum buddy, Cav, "I said you ever notice this bands got 4 guitarists (if you count Bass as a guitar) and they love to play with each other, doing twin guitar solos and putting extra frets on the guitars and crazy delay effects and other cool shit? that could have me and you, but on the drums. and do you know i have never really even tried to play good in this band because i just didn't want to make you uncomfortable or upset and drink more .I knew you needed to be the star more than me. and now it's all yours buddy. you can be the star of the show. you are the King Gizzard of King Gizzard and the wizard lizard. but when your up on the biggest stages in the world, playing to thousands all alone by your self, don't ask me what song are we playing next, because I aint going to be there, brother. and I've probably never played that song before anyway".
I would like to take a moment to remember the fallen and survivor's of Rock n Roll and the Gizz verse like Peter Best or "Ricky" who was known as the "5th Beatle" as an almost an active member of the band. he leaves behind a perfectly good bass drum pedal, ( suspiciously around the time Cav started flexing his double kicker skills) and has never received royalties for any of the Gizz recordings he didn't perform on. and keep Cav in your prayers. His health and well being is most important right now.

Best live act in the world today. Unbelievable energy and talent, given the limited stage production they seem to limit themselves to.

great fucking show right?! saw them in Asheville for the first time this year. huge fan and have been collecting their vinyl for a minute but the live experience is something completely differently amazing. cheers!
same, same and same. festivals taught me to sometimes get to the front row 1 or 2 hours before the band I want to see. once I wanted to see Underworld so I got to the front row before some rock band that was playing before them. they happened to be The White Stripes. I discovered them that night - 2 piece band giving one hell of a rock show, fell in love with Meg, jaw dropped. true story.

I'm just happy it's pro shot / recorded multi cam & not just another crappy cellphone vid. There aren't many Gizz pro shot complete sets post Pandemic. This one is kinda short but I'll still take it. There's another recent one from a fest up in the Alp's (Switzerland?) that's over 2 hr's, one of the best shows I've ever heard by them, & there's hardly anyone there, it's way up in a u-shaped glacial valley, above the tree line. They're still young enough to be able to deal w/the high elevation.
That was my first ever Gizz gig, I travelled from NL to BE to see them. So you could imagine how happy I am/was. I am recorded in it as well lol @@sideshowbob

Shoutout to my concert mate, a guy from DE. He looked almost like Joey. And me standing next to him in the front row wearing the usual KGLW work trousers. When Joey saw as just before the concert started - he looked a bit surprised. Especially looking at his lookalike standing next to me :) Can't wait for #gizzmay. Cheers mate.

I wanna know what happened to Stu's 12 string, havent seen that for a while.
Stu said in an interview a few years ago that he had to retire it, it was too old and in such poor shape that no guitar repairman he brought it to could fix it, with one saying that they were surprised he was touring and recording albums with it in the first place.
