Professor Anna Jablonski describes our skin shades as “a rainbow of sepia colors”. It surprised me how hard it was to find a sepia color chartthat could be used for skin. She is mostly correct.
To get a semblance of an idea how many more shades there are, just go to the makeup department and seriously note how many shades of foundation each brand has. You will not see “white” for anything other than an undercoat. Or as eye makeup. Now that I am old I found the pale or light beige shades no longer work without a white undercoat. The shades are correct but because of my old skin they go on weird. The dark circles around my eyes look worse without an undercoat now. Go figure.

@@fheuexve I have a couple of questions. Are you familiar with Seasonal Color Palette or the Tonal Color Palette? Because I don't know what am I and what would be my possible season or dominant feature/s. My hair is brown-black that sometimes look like a mix of red and gold when exposed in the sun during the sun's hottest. But there would be moments that my hair is quite ashy in quality whether hot and humid weather sets in or if the sunlight is not too bright. My eyebrows are grayish/ashy and my eyes are brown. I have never dyed my hair by the way which is now gradually turning white because I'm turning 50 soon. Thanks.
