I’ve historically only collected PSA but never really liked their label or price for services. I actually REALLY like the changes CGC made and now I’m considering converting over. Those pristine labels are so nice too
CGC does a great job simplifying their services. On-top of that customer service is TOP-NOTCH. Literally yesterday I reached out via Instagram regarding a recent submission. I had a response and complete update on the submission within 2 hours.
Good vid, good commentary. The one thing I dislike is losing the transparency we had with subgrades, leaving only the BGS option which is considerably more expensive. I understand it's about 10-15% of the customers that used subgrades but it gave me more confidence in their service. Maybe offer something through an App that will at least point out where your card lost the most points? I really don't mind about losing the Perfect grade, Pristine will do fine and at this point we're really splitting hairs, but... Anyways! I also have sent in my first submission and love their quick response to their customers, their staff is friendly and doesnt BS their way through tough questions. They try to find a relevant solution or answer, and I like that a lot.
Awesome video Lord Iron! I agree, I am also a HUGE fan of CGC. No shade on PSA but I feel like they hand out 10s like its nothing and maybe to cards that are not Gem Mint. I think the new grading scale and labels is an upgrade for CGC, It is still a tough enough grading scale to validate the quality of your card, without being too punishing making gem mint impossible.
I actually like their new grading scale now… and their labels. Took me a little while for it to grow on me but they for sure now are my preferred grading company. Better consistency and most notably, affordable, which in turn makes collecting worth it and fun again! They’re absolutely my preferred! 🙌🏽
I going to start grading card, at first I want to grade with BGS cuz I like their label but they had an issue about their service that ppl talk about then CGC catch my eye on very nice slab(good for display) and great service, so I will go with CGC.
I love CGC I graded my first two batch with them because PSA was really expensive. And now all I want is the pristine label 😅 I will grade with CGC Again and reholder !
@@MurrayTactikz GREAT Question! When you are entering the submission you can submit two of the same cards as different line items. So for example the #1 card in the submission a Miriam SIR from SV1. I can then submit another Miriam SIR anytime after the first. Just make sure each submission item number corresponds with the correct card. Usually what I do is if there are two like cards I keep them away from each other on the submission form just as an extra buffer to make sure they don’t get mixed up. I also write everyone’s name next to each line as well. I hope this is at least a little bit helpful! -Iron
I never played pokemon, im mtg player, but more than that collector. But these nice pokemon foils looks great graded, maybe i need to start collecting them too.. Mtg art has gone worser over time too, hard to find nice looking cards to grade, some bordeless r nice, but nothing close to pokemon art.
They control the Pops in both ways I feel! PSA throws out ridiculous 10s at Jap Pokemon cards like candies to kids on Halloween. It's like they have an agenda to push JAP lol.... And I inspected a 9 English and a 10 Jap under a magnifying glass and litterally couldnt find a single issue with the English one (it was 55/45 centering, I pixel measured it with a scanner) but there was a quite obvious foil scratch on the Jap. I think PSA knows they dominate the market and are just not as meticulous as the other companies.
They didn't do away with the 9.5. They changed the meaning of the 9.5. Their new grading scale now grades with a 10 as gem mint. So, the 9.5 in the new grading scale is a Mint+. This is why they were offering to reholder the old 9.5 gem mint in the new scale as a 10 gem mint.
PSA labels and cost, along with turn around time, turned me off to their company. Overpriced and overrated. CGC and PSA both have their own unique issues.
I think it has become a joke now in the grading world, there should never be so many 10's and now pristine 10! what difference from the 10 to 10 pristine, because they say so, such a scam. At the end of the day your grade is good for that day and it just an opinion on who grading it. you do know when you buy a pack of cards it should already be a 9 or 10 coming out of the pack and if not, you can send them back to company for new ones, I know for sport cards they do. Never tried for non-sports cards. why would anyone just grade common basic cards the cost is ridiculous, but your free to do whatever with your money. I know your pugging for them, but over 70 percent of those cards, I would never grade. since the cost is more than what the card is worth. it goes with any grading company not just putting it on CGC. it basic on just an opinion and no court will take the case, since there are no laws on an opinion. but I know it hard to bite the bullet since most people will not accept, they got rip off and have to keep laying to themself how grading is good. there is a positive side of grading you must sale right away, only way to make your money that using the system for your benefit!

Cgc all the way
Now that I've watched it and had my time to stew with the new labels. I like them. Really excited to see my slabs in person.
They look fantastic! I’m excited for you to see them too!
Have a reholder out for delivery tomorrow and first sub is scheduled for grading. Look forward to what else I send their way this year!

I wish CGC didn’t remove their sub grade service, I agree with you it added a lot of transparency and it gives that extra confidence in the grade.

@@eddietherock9262 Agreed about PSA, expensive, and long waits. The thrill of the chase! We just got back a huge card sub this week 😏
Nice cards hoping to have one、started collecting some cards since im living at japan.
Glad I Found Your Channel Fam

The blue label looked goofy and unprofessional imo, but I understand the nostalgia to it. New labels are incredibly clean 💯
PSA PSA 😝 great video man!! Loved the commentary
Thank you! ❤️🙏
Hi planning to grade my pokemon cards for the first time does CGC have a better grading system than PSA?
I wouldn’t say CGC has a better grading system, they’re very similar. Good luck with your grades!
CGC grading system is like Beckett
Ive heard the psa 10 rate is really high, like over 30% at least for modern. Ive heard cgc pristine 10 is like 3%!
What’s up bro! 🤙🏽
😘
How do u know which cards are yours and which are your friends if u each submit the same card?

It's going to be hard to topple PSA. I hate that people don't realize how fake PSA can be just to control pops.

I thought they were doing away with 9.5s
I’m so confused also 😂

Just curious how anyone could say moonbreon is overrated artwork? That card is absolutely beautiful.
I have a PSA 10 ver and I think it’s decent . So many other underrated art cards that look better
