I have a 2011 Edge Limited AWD had to replace mine at 199,000 miles with a used one because the seal blew and one of the wheel bearing at 150,000miles and now it has 240,000 miles and still running strong and don’t loose any oil between oil changes every 5-7 thousand miles got my money’s worth got it at 4yrs old with 65,000 miles on it. Those wheel bearings are not easy when you live in the rust belt like us. Great video.
As soon as you said I had Tracy put it in neutral and push the brakes I knew what happened. Thanks for the idea of cardboard between the pads. Great idea.
all the videos I have watched I can honestly say larry never takes short cuts working on any project alway's does things the right way wish I could say the same!
Watch South Main Auto here on RUclips. He’s had videos about these tough Ford bearings. He’s from the salt belt here in New York State. It’s nice to see you somewhat back in your natural element working on vehicles.
Hope your back us ok...looks painful crawling around the ground...but great job on fixing Tracy's noise. See you UP house is getting a fair share of snow! Tim L.
Glad you helping Tracy. I think Tracy needs to put more gifts under the tree this year for Larry. If Larry have big Christmas list I hope you better start shoping. :) Larry do not hurt your back to much.
Great job Larry. Has the “ non serviceable” PTU ( power transfer unit ) been checked? That year probably doesn’t have a drain plug but the oil can be sucked out from the top. It’s a known issue along with the water pump
We'll great job...that said you removing this the harrrrrrd way... loosen the rdu bolts drop the control arms spread the axle out such the spline start to come from rdu.. push the rdu back...and the axles will drop out as long as you push the wheel and hub outwords.
Two years ago we had to replace the front transfer case in Mom's Ford edge limited 2013 they basically had to strip it all down to get to it and it doesn't hold a quart of oil but it's impossible to change are you sure that back differential was your problem it could have just been a right rear hub bearing assembly
Hi Larry and Tracy since I can't find a address to send you and your beautiful lady friend a Christmas card I'll just do it this way. Happy Holidays to the both of you and a happy new year. Hope your backs keep getting better that you may drive black stallion again and do some work on the bosses trucks. Lord bless and keep you both safe. Oh keep the snow in the up since you like it so well.
I just spent a lot of time on my mother's 2013 Ford edge just replace a rear wheel bearing with 105,000 KM I'd sooner work on the pickup when you can do both in an hour and a half I'm in South Western Ontario salt I feel for you
Larry it seems you have a lazy driver that slept past his wake up. Time. You need to call jbg trave ok s and wake him up when he has a load so he is not late
If you're anything like me Larry you will be sooner working on a truck then that thing I know this video was awhile ago well I just went through it for the past 3 days God I hate vehicles
Tracy"s back must be better. She is camerawoman tonight. Go Tracy
Lovely couple staying together with both their messed up backs. Take care young people
Larry is an awesome mechanic. Is he worth his weight in gold? Well I wouldn't go that far. He might be worth his weight in silver! 😉
Imo, he deserves the gold medal!
Master mechanic Larry fixing a Wedgee 😳🤔😂

You and Tracy are good people. Wouldn't be caught dead in a Ford though. Unless it was a Stang 5 speed with a beautiful lady in my passenger.
Yep FORD. found on road dead.
That was a hell of a job Larry lol.I know did them before my retirement.Stay safe
So good to see you back turning wrenches but please don't over due it.
As soon as you said I had Tracy put it in neutral and push the brakes I knew what happened. Thanks for the idea of cardboard between the pads. Great idea.
Well you got it done, congrats.............drive by Hi to you and Tracy, take care............see ya
Those wheel bearings can kick your butt. Been there done it as I also live in the snowbelt and corrosion is mechanics nightmare. Great job.

Looks like both you and Tracy are doing much better. Great repair Larry.

We'll great job...that said you removing this the harrrrrrd way... loosen the rdu bolts drop the control arms spread the axle out such the spline start to come from rdu.. push the rdu back...and the axles will drop out as long as you push the wheel and hub outwords.

Love your book
welcome Friday night December 3rd 7 o'clock PM👏
When/if you go back to driving,... are you still considering a type of "Wisconsin Shuttle" for the Boss ?
Awesome video video up with a great work and be safe out there. 👍😀
Hello Larry and Tracy let keep tracking on jbg travels running and how many miles on jbg travels truck and stay safe
Are you headed back to the ADL shop in Maryland work on ADL'S semis????

Awesome job
Arry you and the boss need to get together and put back up cams on the trailers when John b loaded at well he backed up in to a pole no damage
Always the same with the some years old cars: planed expensive trouble instead of greasing a little bit.... .

I know whats wrong Larry..its simple..its a Ford...ahhhh hahaha!
I just spent a lot of time on my mother's 2013 Ford edge just replace a rear wheel bearing with 105,000 KM I'd sooner work on the pickup when you can do both in an hour and a half I'm in South Western Ontario salt I feel for you
Larry, what about the orange truck?
Tough job. What ya expect from a Ford driven by a Seahawk. Go Packers.
Did you put anti seize on the backing plate and back of bearing? Makes it easier to remove if it happens again.
Larry you can fix anything
I own 07 edge. And it’s a major pos. I hope the 13 is better
I'm wondering how many hours this job allows in the labor book
I'd be afraid to use a junkyard differential. Might not be much better than the one you took out 😮
Cool I got a Ford Edge
Awesome 👍😎👍
i live in pa almost every hub thats more than a year old is like that.
Just like WI, lots of salt👍
Buy a 20 ton hydraulic puller with hand pump... ie vevor and it will pop with in mins
Larry is always blowing out his latex protection. 🤔
Anyone know where to source parking brake backer plate for cheep...other than the rip off dealers
Tracy’s Vehicle is 8 years old and Wheel Bearing was Toast. Car Companies want these Results.👎
Shouldn't the title be "replacing rear differential" instead ?
Larry it seems you have a lazy driver that slept past his wake up. Time. You need to call jbg trave ok s and wake him up when he has a load so he is not late
Now we Know Why the Dealer’s Charge $ 160 an Hour. Absolutely Ridiculous Failure on a Ford.👎
Should of traded it in
If you're anything like me Larry you will be sooner working on a truck then that thing I know this video was awhile ago well I just went through it for the past 3 days God I hate vehicles
Rear Differential Carrier Assembly
Well it is a ford........
You could of email me n I'll could of came out n helped you out
Jbg travels is up to no good he was trying to get you fired but it did not work
NA! Waste of time with a Ford I Would never own a ford !
