Man, I'm glad I came across this video of yours. I have a 12' fishing kayak that I take out a few miles out of Depoe Bay and was always wanting to go out of Newport for some halibut fishing. I have outriggers and a 6hp Suzuki outboard motor so it;s not a problem getting in and out. I was always more concern about the bar and wind out there.
Great video. Also when your out in deeper water your kicker is great for back trolling to slow the boat down so your weight stays on the bottom. Keep up the good videos.... fun to watch
That's what we call fishing. Catching an ocean halibut is not easy. It requires lot of times and patience. You have a whole big beautiful boat by yourself. Stay safe and tight line.
Thank you Trumper, Looks like your Duckworth is very seaworthy. I think I am leaning towards buying a Duckworth 28 rather then a Kingfisher 2725. I am looking for the best rough water ride between the two. Looking forward to next vid.
Thanks man appreciate it!! definitely few little flaws on the Duckworth but every boat has them But the capabilities are incredible on this boat you will not be disappointed 😁 Thanks for watching
Trumper Fishing just make sure you anchor up current of where u think the fish are at it can require some patience we’ve waited up to a hr but once the bite starts it’s one after another find it up produces drifting and hoping u just drop on something
Hopefully there’ll be some better Halibut fishing this year. Wind has been crazy over here at Mt. Hood last couple of days. What was the name of that weather app? It looked awesome! Keep up the good work with the videos and fishing. Thanks for your efforts and channel 🇺🇸 🎣 👍🏻
Nautide is the app, you can use it for free for the current day but if you want to see the conditions up to 10 days out do you need to purchase the app it is definitely worth 10$$
I see that you run out of that bay quite a bit.. I’m looking to head that way this year for halibut in my 20’ thunder jet.. how far off sore do you normally run?
On the coast of GA and FL practically everyone goes with fiberglass and not aluminum. I’ve read some comments that is because aluminum holds heat from sunlight and you can burn yourself touching the surface of the boat. Also heard, since we have much mote lightening than on the west coast people go with fiberglass because it doesn’t conduct electricity as does aluminum. Finally, I hear fiberglass offers a smoother and quieter ride. Are these assumptions correct?
Nope neither one, just a slave to the car business the last 23 years! work long hours lots of stress. That's why I fish alone most of the time. I believe in work hard and play hard!!! The most toys wins! thanks for watching And the great comments
So you posted a video about not catching anything? I get that it happens (been fishing for forty years, including having my own boat on the WA/OR coast) but it's not exactly the kind of thing I want to watch. It'd be a lot better to hold off until you did catch something and give us all that information (show us how you reel the fish in, what the pressure should be that you exert, what your drag should be like, how a halibut goes straight up and down unlike some other fish, what to do when it comes to the surface, how you gaff it). Also, you never explained your rod/reel/line combination or or the details of your terminal setup (what hooks exactly?). If you want to grow this, you need to make it more detailed and more interesting (like catching something).
Id say if you want my interest in your channel, leave politics out of it. Trumper Fishing? Email trumper45? Boat name “no collusion”? Sorry, I got no interest in supporting you.
Thanks for watching!!
I'm trying to grow the channel if you could
Please share my videos and subscribe.
It would be greatly appreciated 😊

Depoe Bay is my favorite Oregon fishing spot.
What weather and fish activity app were you using
Nautide its like $10 per year for full features or its free if you want to just use it for the current day
Trumpet fishing Florida, in Oregon?
Have you tried anchoring up and using scent attractant to draw then to you. You can draw halibut in from a mile away anchoring up
No I haven't done that but have thought about it I. usually try fishing near crab pots
Trumper Fishing just make sure you anchor up current of where u think the fish are at it can require some patience we’ve waited up to a hr but once the bite starts it’s one after another find it up produces drifting and hoping u just drop on something
Thanks for the info will definitely give that a shot
Trumper Fishing can’t wait to watch the video but if you get skunked don’t post it lol 😆
Keep the videos coming 🍻🍻🇨🇦
I like the rough water ride think you can do a vid just cruising through shitty weather? I like duckworth but I know they had cracking problems?
I found a few missed welds in in non-critical areas but other than that definitely no leaks
Do you fish peaks down south up in Alaska it’s all about the peaks...keep up the great content!!!

The near shore fishery is about 1 to 3 mile out
From the light house and 140 to 200 ft of water
That’s really cool man live in Portland we should link up and catch some fish
Nice video. Btw, what's the app are you using in the video. Thanks for the video.
Nautide
I think it was $10.00
Well worth it
Thanks for watching!!
What is the name of the app you use?
i wanna go!
Gotta make sure I dont get this camera wet *immediately gets camera wet*
Yeah the camera isn't waterproof but it made it okay

My friend and I are wondering what you do for a living. I vote for construction. He says a retired dentist

Oregon Coast is nothing like Florida!
I have never seen someone fish for halibut like that
Seems to work for me , where are you from and how do you fish for them!
Thanks for watching!
What FOW are you fishing in?
Never mind. I heard it.

Ive been watching a while and not sure if I have seen him ever catch a fish.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with telling people where and how to goto catch fish, especially halibut and ocean fish.
