Nice stringer. I’ve been making red curry with my crabs. It’s so easy. They’re one of my fav things to catch now. I throw a bunch of potatoes in it and the curry turns into an amazing crazy with the crab juices.

Awesome video man! I also live couple hours away, coosbay. I had a thought that not to many divers do this in Oregon and there are probably plenty of fisherman that have never even seen a Float!
Therefore, one might cast nearby and tangle you up? Have you ever had any close calls like this?
The spearfishing community is pretty small in Oregon. That is for sure! I have yet to get cast on by a fisherman yet. I've thought people have cast on me before, but it just turned out to be fish jetting away from me and leaving a mud trail, not a weight hitting the ground causing a mud trail. the bigger problem is getting snagged on hooks from line that fisherman have had to break off because of snags! I have had that happen!
This looks awesome, first video I’ve watched of yours, only thing I wonder is have you ever had seals or anything come mess with you or your fish on your stringer?

That would have been my first Pile Perch!
I place a thick red rubber band on my dive light and unscrew it enough where it won’t turn on to prevent it turning on and damaging anything. The red rubber band reminds me it is NOT waterproof until I screw the back in back all the way and remove the rubber band. When my son was little we would go crabbing off the dock in Bandon and I had him use tongs. Works really well.
@@OFGW That Is a really good idea using a large rubber band to let you know that it's not ready till it's off!! For me the tongs are just so much easier for the red rock crabs, but I'll just grab dungeness with my hands, there just so much slower, and can't reach back as far!

I’m a new fisherman and I was just there fishing for about 2 hours last week and I didn’t get anything there.
@@Jc-bo1uu Dont feel bad even the best fisherman get skunked there! You just need to keep going and trying new setups, and actively moving around trying new locations on the jetty and find the fish! I'd recommend watching jetty fishing tip videos on RUclips in oregon they help alot! I'll soon enough also post videos like that!
