Why you burn all the pcb :/

can you not just desolder the ends of the wires connected to the gba speakers and then connect them to the new ds lite speakers? seems like it would save a lot of hassle

Yeah, it looks like you should be able to. I think you are right.

I keep wondering....what if you put wires from a second speaker into the contacts on the board where the second speaker is. Would it be possible to have twin speakers? To have mock stereo sound? (Like the ds lite does).
I could probably fit a second smaller 8 ohm speaker in the opposite corner where the start and select buttons are and use a tiny drill bit to make the holes for the sound.
Or would a second speaker cause issues with the voltages?

I'm not an expert, but I think there wouldn't be enough energy for both speaker. The GBA should provide energy for just one speaker, and the stereo sound shouldn't be a thing, just because the GBA is programmed to have just one speaker and not two

hi I have just bought a gameboy advance and no sound comes from the speaker. I can play sound through my headphones but that's it. Any ideas? thanks

clean the headphone jack w/ alcohol or contact cleaner. plug and unplug headphones many times while soaked in alcohol. there's a switch inside that turns off the speaker; it might be stuck. if that doesn't work, replace the speaker. if that doesn't work, manually bypass the headphone switch. if that doesn't work, something is wrong w/ the amplifier maybe and I'd buy a gba w/ a broken screen off ebay for $10 and swap the motherboard.

Does a DS lite speaker sound any better than the original speaker? Even if the original speaker is working properly??

Can it be a GBA SP speaker as well? Do you know if the GBA SP ags-101 screen can be used to mod an regular GBA?

+sgt.marky martinez it can. for the lcd mod, you need a adapter cable, and solder one power wire to the circuit board

You'll also need to cut some of the plastic away that holds the original GBA screen so that the slightly larger SP screen can fit.
