- In this episode my friend Christoffer and i are going to Friskens hide in Sweden to photograph birds of prey. I have made an episode from this place before when i had Sony gear! But this time it is a Nikon edition episode from thsi location using the Z9 and the Nikkor 400mm f/2.8.

All I can say is wow. Living here in southern Saskatchewan, Canada, I am always stunned to see raptors of any kind out and about. We have the bald, and golden eagles, the northern harriers and others , as well as many types of owls. Winter time, always the snowy owls around. I never get bored of seeing them out. The raptors and owls were the one reason why I got into photography. I really love your video(s) as well. I have not used my video on my camera yet, but hope to soon. Keep up the good work.

Stunning video. Beautiful how the snow lights up the underside of the wings. My favorite scenes were the Red Kite soaring, and the juv White-tailed eagle in the wind. Amazing how you get these flight shots just looking through the viewfinder.
Thank you very much :) the snow is great for light in places like this! i was there a few years back with no snow, still great but this is better :) haha its the only way i can follow them, i have tried the screen and external screens but the EVF works better for me :)

Great video! Lovely close ups on the Golden. And you had snow on the ground, it makes it cleaner looking. And the raven picking feathers from the White, it is a classic must have.
When I tried photographing tunas from HH someone told me it was easier to film in 4K and lift photos from the film. Sounds like a smart idea. Even better of you film in 8K.
Tip - they have ”alförrädare” and ”praktejder” in Skanör harbour. Beatiful birds. 👍👍
Thank you very much Mats! 😁 if you do that from film you need to shoot in high shutterspeed so each frame are "sharp" but i have done some times because i often film in high shutterspeed anyways. Thanks for the tip! 🙂🙂🙂

It’s not just the camera. You put yourself there with patience and skill and a sense of wonder. It shows in all of your videos and photos despite the camera. Wish I had a Nikon z9 though 😊
It a combination of it all but must important is just being out there to get the chances to get footage :) D500, A1, OM-1, Z9 ... i got great results from them all but must say i love the looks of the files from the Z9! looks amazing
Beautiful works Dennis! Too bad we don't have this type of hides in the US, I think it is illegal to feed our national bird Bald Eagle! Any baits would attract them. Looks like a great hide and not too far of a drive from your location, I used to do my practical work when I was in college in Denmark a small town that I forgot now after close to 30 years but it is about a few hours drive to German border, Anyhow, look forward to your next content.

I think its allowed both in Denmark and Sweden but maybe its controlled in Sweden who is allowed to do it, im not sure :) but it does makes it easier to get footage like this but it doesn't gives the same satisfaction as sneaking up on some shy wildlife and get great footage in the wild :) :) but still its fun and you get AMAZING photos and videos when they are so close
Yes, I hear you about the satisfaction when you can get close on your own in the wild. It takes patience and luck. I would love to try the hide for just experiences one of these days. Cheers...

Thanks for your comment and the OM-1 is a great camera! especially for photos its really good. We have them in Denmark but to come really close like in this video we have to go to sweden :) but i live near the Øresunds bridge so its pretty close!

Thanks :) i use the Lowepro lens trekker 600 AW III in this video. Its really nice the gear fits with out taking of the camera and its ready to go!

How do like you the evf brightness of the z9 to om1?
To be honest i didn't give it any thougts :) but im working on a comparison between the two and will test it out in real life use and give it a mention in the next episode :) thanks for you comment!

Nej desværre ikke, der kan også kun sidde 2 i det skjul :) det koster 1400 svenske for en dag og du booker via den hjemmeside jeg har linket til under videoen :) kan anbefales!

I noticed your friend is using Canon have you guy's tried to compare the two with AF Tracking? Also can't wait for the next episode to see how the OM-1 stacks up;)
Its A1 he uses but for what i can see online all the flagships are in the same "ballpark" right now AF wise :)

Was this duck killed just for photos?
For what i know its from a factory and roadkills when its wild pig, deers and so on the birds get here .. i know there are winter feeding programs in Sweden so i guess its from the same places 🤔
