- Set during the Hundred-day Offence in WW1, an Australian Sgt. helps his wounded comrade safely away from the battlefield. While attempting to flee, the two AIF soldiers run into a German soldier looking for vengeance for the comrades he has lost.

1st round from the german would have gone strait thru both the allied soldiers.
My thoughts exactly…. Or say that some chance it didn’t it was defected off a bone or a rib whatever. The second the Tommy hit that German in the face with his rifle butt would have gave him Al the advantage he needed to end that fight…. Oh so blatantly rubber rifles lol
True
@@Joe-ie8vk yes you alright but bullet with that power can't be defected from bones
That would be true. Only happened for the plot.
@@stevantrninic7257 the bullet round used by the kar98k is way more powerful
For me this short is better a lot than many hollywood movie.
God the idea of a 5-20 yard bolt action fight is terrifying. It’s practically the same as a fight at range, but at any moment your opponent could draw a sidearm or charge you
Nu uh
Pretty good, shows the passion for filmography without trivializing the cost of warfare. Those whom really lived these types of experiences are owed a debt that we can never repay.
And hopefully you shall never know
Good job guys👍 this showed lots of passion for the film making itself, and I mean the whole team obviously did. Yes, the rifles are rubber. Yes, the wardrobe isn't "perfect." Yes, "technical accuracy" was sacrificed for the sake of the plot. Soo what! You guys weren't spending a movie budget either. So good job working with what you had!
The rifles were rubber?! Wow. Felt way too good for rubber, honestly.
@@anton.chigrinetc.96 For a lot of the shots we used rubber bayonets (for safety) but with some close ups for example we used metal ones (both of which were blunt and used in a safe way)
Appreciate it man. Our crew put lots of effort into making this. Went through harsh weather conditions and were rushed for time as well but we are pleased with what we managed to complete :)
@@anton.chigrinetc.96 bayonet (the knife) was made of rubber. The rifle itself is reproduction one of metal and wood
Пуля выпущенная из винтовки с такого расстояния пробьёт на вылет обоих.
Кино 🤣
That would be true. Only decided because of plot.
Moвчи дурню нічого ти не знаєш.
Interesting little movie. I was amazed at how clean the war was for those men - except for that unlucky wounded (then dead) guy.
Fair point. This is the thing that always bugs me off in historical movies/series. If it's set in Middle Ages, all of the commoners and even some bourgeoisie/knights/noblemen look dirty and brown or grey all the time. People did take care of their hygiene and clothing and they wanted to look good or fashionable - even in the so-called "dark ages"! Then, in more modern war films too often the soldiers look too clean, to the point it's unbelievable how they manage to stay so tidy after intense fighting and exposure to elements. There needs to be a better balance in this regard, imo.
Yeah true they are too clean. Will fix that for the next one.
Beat me to it.
@@misterleunad4830 One thing really makes me curious! Why there is always something which is complete and sadly also avoidable nonsense in these small productions. The filmmaker seems to be into this part of history and I expect simply more knowledge. Being shot at such a short distance with a rifle the bullet would have pierced both of them. Perfect example for instance is in "Schindlers Liste" where they shoot 4-5 men in row with one bullet while cleaning up the ghetto. It is a ballistic projectile with a lot of power when leaving the muzzle.
@@rainerwahnsinn9423 he clarified in another comment, that it only happened for the plot
Typical Germans, always loose in the end. They make good cars and fridges though!
so? that doesnt mean the director views germans as bad people.
"just another day, ey?" that line was eerie.. but sadly true for them
And this is why in ww2 a lot of soldiers was given the sidearm
This is World War One, and even then sidearms were either A gifted via mail via family and friends or B given to officers, tankers, and other such people who could use them through both wars
@@desert76eagle42 I think what he meant was basic soilders had side arms in ww2. And the reason being to avoid violent struggles and to end fights quick.
Er....no there weren't
Excellent work from a young aspiring director
Homie just left his boy in the field
That German guy turned around on chose violence
Very cool video
id thought i would have never seen somebody actually use their helmet properly in a fight.
that headbutt tho
In a real life scenario I think the German would have won
It is kinda realistic because the English soldier got lucky with his blade on the German soldiers neck
@@pears8445It was an Australian soldier, not English.
Also you shouldn’t slice with a bayonet if it’s on a rifle, you would stab your enemy. The German soldier would’ve won If he didn’t slash the British soldier on the cheek, instead stabbing him.
The slash was taught as a movement in British bayonet fighting, so I'd immagine the Germans would have taught it as well. In a no holds barred fight, you do what you can.
@@harrynr32dn yeah I mean at the end of the day it's a knife on a stick, if you can slash you slash.
@@harrynr32dn im not sure about the butcher bayonets but the ww2 mauser bayonets wasnt even sharpened, just a flat edge with pointy tip
It was a Australian soldier, not British.
quick scoper when they ran out of ammo
The choreography on this is insane
Appreciate that. That was all done by the man who posted this!! Took us a few weeks to get it perfected
For those of you wondering if this is inaccurate it is here is reasons why
1 the brodie helmet is a mk 3
2 the German torso is supposed to have a stripe going down the middle (same with the pants)
3 the webbing for the German is inaccurate
4 The German is using the M35/M40 helmet
He also has a k98k. The helmet is proper that's a m16.
@@sexnoisespodcast3160 my bad and also re watching I found out your right about the rifle
@@Mr_Z_Man_417 No reason to apologize. You know a lot more than most people do. I do re-enactments and I am getting a pretty good eye for little inaccuracies as far as German kit is concerned. Good observation on the Brody helmet. I knew something about it wasn't right but couldn't quite place it.
oh who cares..its a great film so .blob off
@@TheBlueCream I was just pointing out the obvious
An absolutely great short.
A sergeant walking about in a combat zone with an empty rifle???!!! And still doesn’t reload after going hand to hand?
Damn bro did you miss the part where they shot all of their rounds
When I served my bayonet wasn't sharp even it wasn't able to cut butter :)
Забавный факт британцы правда заряжали винтовки 5 патронами вместо 10 чтобы пружина в магазине дольше прослужила
Британцу же руку порезали, а на последних кадрах рука целая....
It was a light cut
Nice clip. Uniforms are waaaaaay to clean!
Thank you!! I agree but we didnt realise till after filming how clean they looked
Intense short battle 👏👏
Cool ! This is one of those NUFF SAID short films!
Great work!! you have a great eye for keen shots
Thank you means a lot to me
Fought for so long his face healed up.
Don’t forget the hand
Me and mi bff in ww1 be like
I have some Things to say 1. Iz Was great and i liked watching it but also
The Bullet would go to both of them
Why is the german the evil one againe i know he's angry cause of the los but still
I don’t think the German was shown in any evil light, it was just the fact, as you said, that at the time the guy was probably in an emotional state of anger and not thinking too straight
We wanted to find a reason for the fighting. We just agreed that we had an angry/grieving German soldier attack the other soldiers. The white flag being shown was to show that the other soldier did not want any part in fighing but the German continued to shoot, which gives the other soldier a motive to fight back (a survival 'killed or be killed' situation. It just made sense to us for the sake of creating a believable plot
Thank you for the love though
That sure depicted the average BEF marksmanship level after 1915 LOL. Nice job on the video y'all!
No dirt at all on Brit’s webbing.
Nice staging👍👍👍
I warch this to pump myself up. Freaking awesome.
Ah yes Star Wars but no lightsabers, one of them is a stormtrooper and both of them are representatives of empires.
Germans just didnt want to stop fighting. They had to find out the hard way not once, but twice thanks to the USA
Still can't get over how perfect the shot with the sun coming out is. One in a literal million and it's perfect
The first German round would have dropped both English soldiers. The subsequent incredible poor display of marksmanship is very hard to believe. Bajonet fighting gets taught in training, nothing like the bizarre display shown here
I agree but we were trying to make a somewhat entertaining fight scene with hints of realism. We didnt want to make a 15 second shoret were one soldier instantly wins. No one would watch that garbage
When two anime lovers fight, but they are in army
We don't hate eachother. It is the leaders that hate eachother.
He's standing there... sinisterly !
Very good
Gawd, damn!! That's what it's like!
This is really good well done love it ♥️♥️
FYI: coloured helmet doesnt mean hes a stormtrooper
He's an actor.
Great work
Aprecciate this!! thank you
Good german boy
Made him dance on his own buddies grave, nice video.
Nice short
Great Video!
But were did you get the battel ambiance from in the background?
Ain’t no way he used another soldier as a shield💀💀
Ain’t no way???please speak English civilized ones, ain't=it is not+no way= it is way, what r you saying COCONVT stop worshiping blackstones it dopes you up🤣
Бой выглядит комично,может так было задумано.Всегда думал что боковые кромки штык ножа не имеют столь острой режущей поверхности чтоб нанести такой урон. А что касается пробитой артерии, то слишком быстро потерянная кровь отправило тельце к праотцам
It depends on which bayonet their country issued with that particular rifle. Some nations used bayonets that are more of a spike, to stab, and others used ones that were basically trench knives with very sharp edges.
Very good 👍
Lessons learned , don't ever equip your army with bullpup rifles, too short bayonet fighting! 🤣🤣🤣
German soldier just buried his friend, no wonder he opened fire
Bulgarians were the kings of the bayonet attack. Evereryone was terrified by the sound before the attack ,, На ноооож"🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬
This was a very good watch!
Thank you!!
Well done lads
Слишком чистые они для полей 1 мировой
Know what I hate about most movies the good guy’s almost always win
Рука в крови вдруг стала чистой.
The German soldier is using a Karibiner98k
Very nice short, although the green collar is too dark.
Thank you!
This shows that war is just like an old Benny Hill sketch.
the kick to the head broke it for me haha
Excellent
Thank you
Very good scene but details make scenes great. Have a fresh mound where the German just buried a friend and have his sleeves rolled up and a little muddy/bloody. Then have the English soldier bury his friend and finish as another couple Germans walk up.
POV: imperial stormtrooper
cool, lots of story to tell.
Its Nice and all but I feel like the bayonet would actualy cut German shoulder instead of neck
It was a short film they didn't have time to get them dirty sad times and there's nothing clean about war when it comes down to it God bless all our fallen ones and the ones that didn't make it home
Yeah we did think they were quite clean after but this was during the edit unfortunatley so unable to fix it
By the time he got that bayonet on I'd have legged it like a gazelle
presenting your back to a crazed man armed with the equivalent of a longspear? Not a really good idea XD
That'll teach ya to walk around with your rifle unloaded.
Great action in the short film good job guys from (Sioux city Iowa)
Thanks brother. We really put a lot of time and effort into this for people to somewhat enjoy (and for a good grade haha)
Realisiticallly the hand spade would be a much more affective weapon then the bayonet on the rifle
I agree . Tactical shovel would have been sick to use but we already had access to bayonets so worked with what we had
@@lochiewheeler not tactical shovels like literally just the entrenching tools cause soldiers would have sharpened them and made them much more effecient cleaner and faster weapons then a bayonet
@@rchow2010 Chill was just agreeing with the shovel idea not asking for a lesson in shovel history hahaha

To all those whom have proven their warrior breed regardless of Creed or Nation, to all those whom have served and are serving today... from the millions of lives you protected, Thank you.
The irony is that we served to protect our society, which is destroying itself with trivial issues like identity politics. You know that people in power are too rich when woke BS is more important than the majority's well-being and freedom from tyrznny from the left or the right extremes. The middle continues letting anything go. I miss the days when one's sex life was not an identity.
LOL its like Star Wars but with bayonets. And... why does the German guy have to die all the time? That is soo sad!
Which isn’t always the case
what? wdym all the time. that was the director decision, do you really think the director made the decision to kill off the german guy bc hes "german"?
Maybe
Short but good movie
Yeah we only had 4 days to film (which isnt a lot) but we got what we could out of the time we had. Thanks for the comment though!!

Great film. This is how I'd imagine a hand to hand fight between two well trained soldiers of this Era would look!
Thank you! We wanted it to be close enough to realistic but also some hollywood fun sprinkled in there as well
Never get into a fight that can be avoided. Ill fight for my comrades but never for the politicians.
Good work
Thank you we appreciate that!!
When I clicked this video i expected some cheap flick with a couple of guys playing dress up, but that fight was heart in mouth tense
Thank you we appreciate this a lot!!
👍
Look at respective societies today that veteran of these wars fought for and wonder if they would think their sacrifice was worth learning it.
i like it
Great work. Too clean in the Australian's uniform as seen in close up near the end.
Good
Cleanest battlefield ever.
Not a speck of dirt, or a crease on those uniforms.
The lack of effort put into that was inexplicable.
bro its just a shortfilm made by amateurs tf did you expect

"Just another day, ey? "
Inauthentic/fake, the German soldier is depicted with a kar98k WW2 era rifle, when German soldiers in WW1- which the film is based on- were issued with the GEWHR 89 bolt action- which was much more longer in length barrel wise and feature a horizontal straight bolt handle, harder to eject, than the 98k
Great work 👏👏👏
Thank you my friend. We are proud of this (even with small issues that came along with it), but you live and you learn
Bayonets were not so sharp as to slit a throat.
A bullet, shot by a rifle will penetrate both bodies at such distance...
