as much as I love the series, I wouldn't call any of them timeless classics. The gameplay is just to rough with each one of them. but the story is absolute masterclass and the reason most people play and replay the games

I could honestly sit and watch these videos for hours. I've watched the Diablo series a couple times and have thoroughly enjoyed them - watching this, even though I never did play the game, is really enjoyable.
When I was like 8 years old I played this game for the first time at my older cousin's house. The entire intro and beginning sequence just totally blew me away. I still get chills
It really says a lot about the quality of this game's story when much if what happens later on in the series still uses this foundation as a jumping off point
On the other hand, the later games - especially Blood Omen 2 - messed up a lot of the story from Blood Omen. The truth is, the devs at Crystal Dynamics really just got lost with all the timelines and last-minute changes.
I will never get sick of these videos. Even though they are very much at times inconclusive, the deep dives like this make it a little more fun no matter how many times you've gone through the story.
I love it. If someone said they were gonna make this video, narrated from a self point of view, I would have cringed. but you committed to it and totally pulled it off. Congrats. It's basically a good movie now. Again, I love it.

This game was quintessential for me as a teenager. I loved it so much, it was just on the heels of SOTN and made me fall in love with vampires even more. Some 20 years later, Vorador is still one of my all time fave vampires, with Kain a close place after. Thanks for making this, enjoyed it so much!
It's kind of wild how prophetic that "Kindred this blade and I" would be, considering none of the future lore had yet been written, as the games creators had a very different vision for where this world would go from here than what it ultimately became. Still it is quite the earie line.

I had goosebumps many times watching this. I scratched my head reflecting on all the PS1 games I loved with their convoluted stories. The music, story, design, atmosphere thick with blood. Sure the gameplay was clunky, but my Gods the voice acting was so good between Simon Templeton and Tony Jay. I never played the newer games. Do I have to? Do they hold a candle to the original greatness? I can’t imagine they capture a world like the first.

Me and my older brother first played through this game when i was 13 in 1997, he was in his early 20s. He died a few years ago and i still play this game and remember when we were figuring stuff out. It was this game and Shadow Man. I loved games then and he always took me to the store to rent them even though he was just working basic factory jobs.
One thing never made sense to me. So Vorador murdered 6 of the guardians in the games opening. As the game goes on Kain kills three more, Vorador kills malak, mortainius kills the alchemist, and Kain kills morbius and mortainius. That's 12 guardians, plus Kain himself as the balance guardian. But there are only 9 Pillars of nosgoth?
It's still nutty to me that the "gods" were the usurpers in the grand scheme of things and that the player characters were always fighting for the good.

This game and well the whole series had some pretty crazy lore that I've only grown to appreciate nowadays. You dont see people making lore like this for videogames any more. I have to hand it to them, they went all the way out there and its respectable that they tried to forge their own path and create a new mythos for us to enjoy. You just dont see that much now.

i had this game when ps1 was new. This game was an early release. What an absolute masterpiece. Even to this day i come back to it.

I believe Vorador killed 6. They were replaced (including balance)
