121 Insight - Developing a young player's backhand topspin

A good 1-to-1 session with this young player recently. I noticed during knocking up that there was potential to add a bit more flair to his natural backhand stroke, so we worked on two main things:
1) Bringing his wrist in a bit more, to give more room for acceleration to generate more spin/speed
2) Contacting the ball closer to the tip of the bat, again to optimise racket-head speed for more spin/speed
Then we had some fun playing farther back from the table 😄
