The Black Arms are back, and Shadow and his crew have a few scores to settle with the carnivorous colony. Team Dark and Spider Troupe begin their ambush on the new comet and end up biting off more than they can chew. Things seem calm at first, but the deeper GUN get into the comet, the deeper they play into the Black Arms' plan. Who is orchestrating the last of the black arms, and what waits for Shadow? All will be revealed in this issue of Sonic Universe's Shadow Fall saga!

The Archie comics really nailed Shadows personality, especially in these Sonic Universe issues. Although I really enjoy the story arcs with him before the "Super Genesis Wave" these also continue them without needing much context. Well, besides games like Shadow the Hedgehogs story. Very happy you guys are covering them!
The stories that have multiple parts seem more solid than the the rest. It’s good to see them branch out like this.

It's good, but it's not THE way to properly write Shadow. Shadow is just as good as a villain. Anti-Sonic.

The main reason Archie Shadow worked so well is because he was allowed to be more than just “angsty emo hedgehog”.

Guuuys, Wolfblade is doing it again, giving characters who didn't have a voice before a voice that works well for the characters.
You nailed Eclipse's voice he sounds like a derranged mad man and considering they mention his experiments he probably is a mad scientist kind of guy likely with Shadow levels of physical ability maybe even more since he claims to be perfected
holy shit, THIS IS SHADOW! Comparing him here to the IDW comics really shows how he took the biggest blow there. Great job you guys, the comedic timing was really good and shadow's voice was just sexy af

Hyper as Shadow was awesome, but props to Wolfblade for Eclipse's voice -- when I first read these issues, that's exactly what I imagined his voice would sound like. Great job, everyone!
Man, I really miss G.U.N. and the humans, they made the world livelier and interesting. Now it just feels empty, like something is missing and Sonic's world is incomplete, idk if anyone feels the same way.
Gotta be honest, the switching to "The Chosen One" song during the briefing didn't sound very good to me, but I loved the remix of the Main Menu theme right after. Also, the voice effects for Black Death sounds amazing! Eclipse's voice also sounds really good, it kinda sounds like Vanitas from Kindgom Hearts a bit tho'......maybe it's just the way it's mixed. Awsome job overall as always!
PS: Now I wish for a Shadow the Hedgehog remake with a better story and mission objectives. I kinda liked that game, but the enemy hunting missions were really boring.
Honestly I don't see how humans are any more or less livelier or interesting than Mobians. It's just the matter of what the writers do with them. What Ian and Evan have been doing with the Mobians isn't that much different from what the games use to do with humans
@@HypeVoiceActing Yes, I agree, but to me all of the places and lore already in place for the humans made the world feel bigger even outside of the story. Just think of Unleashed, all of the interesting different places and people made the world richer and expansive, sometimes you could even tell where the levels took place on a map. The world we have in the comics (and recent games) doesn't have that, where are places in relation to each other? Are there differnt countries or colture or is just Furryland all over? This kinda thing that is not really important but adds to the fantasy. Also, humas and G.U.N. are extreamely important the the lore, otherwise Shadow's character doesn't make sense. If Eggman is the only human, where is he from? Where is the Ark? Does Maria exist? If there is no G.U.N. then who raided the Ark? The whole thing with the aliens? All I'm saying is that we didn't need to erase the humans, just add the mobians, or they better explain how the two worlds thing they came up wwith works alittle better. (Sorry for the long rant)
The way the comics are right now, nothing is really established, just random cities and villages all over the place in the middle of a grass field, it just feels kinda empty. Sure the mobians are written well but I know basically nothing about the world, so it's kinda difficoult to feel anything when Eggman wrechs the place. The metal virus story was in the right track to make me care about the cities but if the world and it's civilization get a little more fleshed out then it would be perfect.
I used chosen one to emphasise the setting of that scene. It’s to emphasise shadow’s motivation, also to foreshadow the fact that shadow is going to be the one eclipse tries to rope back into the black arms

Holy fucking shit. When I saw you guys started doing the Archie comics post Genesis Wave, I was pretty dang excited cause I knew it had Shadow Fall but I wasnt expecting it to be THIS early. You guys actually rock.

As a newbie to this type of story in Archie's comics I'm going to buckle up for this one!
This isn't a complaint, more of an observation, I can't help but notice that the Archie dubs are presented more like typical *motion comics* while the IDW dubs feel more like they're presented to replicate the feel of actual animated series. If that makes any sense.
It's because of archie's more complex paneling layout for each page.
And they have two different main editors on Archie and IDW

For any of you wondering why IDW Shadow is such a garbage character, its because SEGA wont allow the writers to make him otherwise. Im assuming thats why Shadow is barely making an appearance in the IDW comics as well, so the writers wont have to ruin the character as much as they were already forced to.

That was Gerbil's idea. He wanted the voice cast (sans Sonic) to feel different from the IDW comics since they're different universes
