That gunshot at the end... there is something completely terrible and horrifying about it. For Vash, it's a broken promise to the person he loved more than anyone else in the universe, one that he devoted his ENTIRE LIFE to. The way it echoes, and Legato's thud, it fades into complete silence, and you know the pure terror that Vash is experiencing then. And for me, at that moment it felt like everything was so pointless, no matter how hard he tried, Vash couldn't escape killing forever.
While this could have been a tremendous moment in the series...an episode later, Vash was back to himself. Kind of lessened the gravity of the situation, but didn't lessen the awesomeness that was Legato.
Not even remotely bro? The episode after Legato dies is called Live Through and we quite literally see Vash dealing with what he's done and how he broke his promise to Rem. Hell, he barely cracks a joke throughout the entire episode. I mean Vash literally gets dragged behind a car and beaten almost to death by the townsfolk and he just says "I deserve this for what I've done". That is very much not being back to himself
depending on the storyline you choose, in one version he used a reflector shield that bounced a bullet and killed a man and he never used it again, and based on the batman beyond storyline he came to a life or death situation and grabbed a gun and shot someone and so he retired
I agree to a point, but I think that the fact that Vash eventually abandoned Rem's philosophy in place of his own outlook does lend some credence to Legato's effect on Vash. Legato made it possible for Vash to break free of Rem's philosophy.
weeaboo moron lol have fun watching in a language you don’t understand, i’m sure it’s awesome having to read everything while trying to enjoy the show haha
Vash's expression at the end is incredible. He realized that he didn't have a choice and was terrified because if it.

I always loved how trigun evolved from its original whimsical style to a much darker story.
Legato's sole purpose was to torment Vash, and he eventually succeeded in doing so even in his death.
the japanese voice acting brings this scene to another level.
It's like a wonderful song
Finally original japanese audio.

Vash pulled the triger, and legato won
Lost Planet's the name of the BGM.
More like most bad ass part in the series. Wolfwood dying was the saddest IMO
Does anybody know what song this is? A name or number would be great. Thanks!
makes me wonder if Batman was put in a situation like this.
