How to solve the Number Letter problem on the laptop? Easily solved. This will work in Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, and Windows 7. No need to repair the keyboard. There are some settings to solve this problem.
Some laptop keyboards have a group of separate numeric keys on the right side. But in some other model laptops, extra numeric keys are not available. In those systems, some keys in the laptop work as 'Number key''. These letter keys will type numbers only. How to turn off this 'number Lock?'. This video will solve your problem 100%. This will work on most types of laptops. Nowadays some laptops are coming without an extra numeric keyboard. The number keys are assigned on the letter keys with a number lock. ie, when the num lock is 'on', these keys will work as number keys. if num lock is 'off', then keys will work as letter keys.
If you check the top line of keys, you can find a number lock key. this key may label as 'num lk', 'num lock', or sometimes a '# symbol'. these keys are used for turning on and off the number lock facility on the laptop keyboard. Sometimes these keys are associated with an 'Fn' key on the keyboard. Then you have to press and hold this 'Fn' key and then press the 'num lock' key.
While using the computer sometimes we will 'turn on' the num lock button. After that when you start typing your contents on the word processor or while browsing, you can't type the letters behind those number keys. Some people even change their keyboards of laptops to solve this number lock on keyboard problem.

Joyce Hariette Valentino, If your laptop keyboard has a separate number keys at the right side, make sure to turn on 'Num' key above it. If that fails, you have to use the linear 'number keys' above texts keys.

Ps: so guys if you came across this on your Asus T100's keyboard, this is the solution: press "fn"and "insert num lk" simultaneouly until you are able to type out alphabets again on that particular buttons. Daaa!!

I've sent a tip as well after noticing Jenny Gan mention it. Just bought a small 76 key membrane keyboard for my desktop as I cannot stand the sounds of clicky keyboards and I game also. When I plugged it in, it was stuck in the function key with numbers for letters. I've gone through 6 keyboards of regular size but was really excited for this one, checking the shipping every day. Unboxing it was nice and went quick but all the hype fell flat after I plugged it in and it started typing numbers on my first word saying He336 in an email instead of Hello. Anyways, 6 years later your video still helps lots of people out and made you a tip! Thank you for saving me the hassle of returning it and looking elsewhere again! Been using Windows "Ease of Access" virtual kb for a week lol. I was so excited to finally find a small form, wired, membrane scissor switch keyboard. It's the benefits of a quiet laptop but use with a desktop and takes up less desk space. Cheers form Canada!

Fix: Num lock problem in all laptop ( typing wrong: Number).
some keys in laptops not working well. they are typing numbers only. this video will solve your problem 100%. this will work in most type of laptops.

+Andrew Esposito Number lock normally apply to all number key units together. If only one key is showing problem, then the keyboard seems to have problem.

Before trying this or anything else, Fix it in 10 seconds by holding Fn then press F11, release them both, then double press the letter J, then hold Fn and press F12 Boom! Fixed!

My keyboard is typing wrong characters like if i preds F it type fs3t , if press J it typed jik4 some keys are ok but mostly do this, i tried to renew window and changed the keyboard as well but when i replaced keyboard it resolved for one time but after restart it started the problem again... I don't know whats the issue 😢😢
