Hi Dazz, another great video! I was wondering, do you take the wind loading from the upper stories as universally distributed line load on the columns, or do you take it as point load at the top of the frame and add a moment (point load times the distance from the top of the column to the center of gravity of the upper stories)? This way the deflection from the wind loading is quite bigger due to the imposed moment from the upper stories wind loading to the frame. Looking forward to hear your thoughts on this!
Hi Daz, Great vid, with regards to the hz shear in the base of the columns, would you design the foundations to resist this and if so how; for agrument sake in a small residnetial job ?
Another great video! Would you consider doing an example on moment resisting base plates in the future? Bolt locations, design of stiffeners etc. That would be wicked! Keep up the good work! 👍🏼
When the code says you need to 🙂 read into your code of practice about P-delta effects and you’ll need to find out if your structure needs to be analysed using second order analysis

Hi Daz, Could you please do a video on when to use a goalpost frame or box frame (Picture frame)?

You want to check sliding and overturning
Hi Daz, I'm looking for any literature that outlines the design philosophy behind frames. Could you recommend any positions?
the iStructE steel design manual is a good starting point or the SCI steel designers manual.

Steel connections aren’t really my area of expertise but I can definitely do a video on it.
When should i use second order analysis?

@@EverydayDazz Got it, thanks!
