1925 Ottawa Drag Saw Restoration Progect Part 1

  • A circa 1925 type TR drag saw purchased in 2003 and only exhibited once spent 19 years neglected under a tarp.
    This is part one of the restoration project. A walk around and initial repairs to the valves in th cylinder head.
    Unfortunately much of the video source for this project has been corrupted due to some undiscovered computer problem. It has been assembled from the best pieces.

    To me it looks like a one cylinder 2-stroke water cooled diesel engine. Not really enough to confirm as no images of the head that was removed. But that sure looked like a water tank you removed, much like the Chinese diesel engines have.

      It's actually a start on gasoline run on kerosene 4-stroke cycle engine. In its day, kerosene was cheaper than gasoline. Even at today's high prices, gasoline is more economical than kerosene.
