Thank you for this excellent step-by-step instruction. I just cleaned 20 years' worth of coke from the throttle body, and have a working accelerator again. Great!
Very helpful video, I'm not super mechanically inclined, but after watching this video, I was easily able to remove, clean and reinstall the throttle body on my 07 focus. No more sticky gas pedal😀
i know im asking randomly but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
@Emilio Kasen I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Amazing. Thank you so much! Just sorted mine and no longer cuts out. Fabulous tips from experience e.g. order to undo the screws etc. and ease of use by adding what size socket needed at which stage etc.
If there is a slight hissing noise when you accelerate (A/C off) could this help if coking has impacted air intake? The dealership told me to check the throttle body.
Easy diagnosis 90% of the time is the trottle body adjustment screw due to vibration and cause the engine to stave for air jerking stalling idling hecups shift into gear jerking .Turn engine off then turn the adjustment screw 1/4 on trottle body then start the engine. Continue the process till the engine run smoothly and depending on the maintenance. Electronics trottle body is a different process.
To the right of the throttle body is a large box, this box quiets the the sound of the intake also known as a resonator. Look down and to the left of this box about 1 foot 12 inches and you will see a wire coming out of a tube connected to the bottom of the resonator, that is you MAP sensor. Two screws hold it in place, only use electronic cleaner on this part and make sure it goes in the same direction it came out of it will through a lean code.
If you open up the plate and use. Toothbrush that will.come out way better than how it is now and when you are finished use the same spray and spray everything off and it is like new
Always change the gasket when we move in the throttlebody, never add carburetor cleaner to the rubber gasket you would damage it, I could tell inexperience
A problem that I’ve encountered is that the carb cleaner or throttle body cleaner dissolves the plastic the throttle body is made of causing more damage than the carbon buildup. The recommended fix is to replace the throttle body assembly. There are replacements out there less than buying it at Ford. Less down time too if the throttle body is damaged by the spray. It’s only if it’s made of plastic. If you have one made of metal it’s fine.
Idk where u are buy throttle bodys that are cheap... and those tbu are not nm only very hard to find when u do find one for a 2.0 they are extremely expensive!... and card clean work just fine on poly

Use q-tip cotton swabs to clean this. You can get to the small idle air hole really good.
Great step by step video. Thanks.
You're welcome!
This Video made my job that much easier Thanks!!!
Glad to hear it!
Hi! Would this all be the same assembly and process for the PZEV model?

You need to replace the idle air control valve.

Are the 2007 focus throttle body modules electrical or mechanical
I'm going to guess mechanical like this one. Thanks for watching!
@@2carpros I checked it today and that's exactly what it is. Although it's not very easy to get that part
Is there a need to replace the gasket?
If it is in bad condition I would. Thanks for watching!

You should not be spraying that cleaner on or near that gasket. Also using a soft bristle tooth brush is helpful
Great. Thank you.
No worries!

yeah Im not paying $350 when I can just clean it, thanks
Good Deal !
Sure is!
Think that’s an aftermarket TB? That would explain the loose bolts. 😂
No it's original
So much gunk!!!
You're wrong the 2005 Ford Focus zx4 ST came with a 2.3 l duratec and manual transmission only
Well this is a non ST. That's why it doesn't say ST in the title. Thank you for watching!
They never made a st in 05 lmao
Well why did you say st then anyway I was told my gasket was bad so I'm so happy for this video because I'm going to do it myself ...I hope thank you
