This was a very informative video. I enjoyed watching it and all of the questions asked were great questions. As someone that's seriously considering doing storyboards for a living in the next 3-5 years, this video helped me understand the things I'd need to work on and study.
Great question Zenaida. I went to the School of Visual Arts in New York, where I grew up. I studied Sequential art and Editorial Illustration. I have continued to study and expand my knowledge of these subjects beyond school, even until this day! If you’re serious about learning the ins and outs of storyboarding, success without art school is a possibility, especially now that we have the internet. I built a strong foundation in draftsmanship during my early years in school and that is something that has been invaluable to me. Art school has allowed me to build great relationships with fellow creatives and allowed me to immerse myself in a creative environment. That being said, no one in my career experience has ever asked me if I had a degree.
Brian McGee Thank you for the quick reply. I think it would be neat for there to be a course just in storyboarding. I am not against school just can’t put a lot of money forward, but very serious about doing it. Always loved comic books and would draw inside joke comics for my friends 😜. I will take some online art courses on Udemy and take it from there. 🍀🤞🏼🍀🤞🏼

Did you go to school or are you self taught? If you went to school what major do you recommend?
