Ya know, usually I’m a “get to the point” kind of guy, but even when you’re long-winded, you’re to the point. Most RUclipsrs spend 15 minutes on a 17 minute video opening a box and telling you to “smash that like button and don’t forget to turn on notifications.” But you actually make a connection. Good review. I’ve had my eyes on the strong arm, but after watching these tracker videos I’m going back and forth. My back ground is construction so I like knives that can be used with more than one application.
Hi friend just tell you that your videos are great, I love it I saw your video on the Tom brown tracker, you talk about it so much that I bought one it's......great knife, you're right thank you for making me discover this jewelry Luigi belgian ardennes
Listen my friend, I started following you because of your genuine charm and delivery of speech. Articulate, thoughtful, the kind of person I'd want to spend time with getting to know and share knowledge with. You do you, and anyone that doesn't connect, move on and find your you, leave this man to do what he does best and is enjoyed by the rest of us! God bless you brother.
I love your videos, my man! You seem to genuinely connect with people in a way that invites the audience to share in the experience of simplicity. You don't push products or preach your narrative in a condescending manner. How refreshing it is to be invited along as a friend to experience the outdoors together. Keep up the good work. And thank you!
Man thank you, I own 2 Tom Brown Trackers the SXB and the one in your hand love them. A knife, hatchet in hand all in one. Absolutely outstanding video once again, thank you for sharing.
I’m new to the channel I was just looking for knife reviews. I stayed and subscribed for the presenter seriously awesome channel and down to earth host.
My experience - Yes you can throw it! 1) Yes it is a real hard steel knife you can throw 2) No it is not a WSK, but it is much less expensive and - you can throw it 3) If you throw it - there is no damage to the lower working blade - and the handle seems to hold up very well to impacts. This thing is a beast - you can beat it up. It is not super heavy, but won’t fit in your pocket. If you have some property to play around on - get one. If you are even thinking about it - Get it! It is a beast. As a former Green Beret and growing up running around West Virginia - this is a great value for the price. Tops makes great quality knives that are perfect out of the box and last.
I dig your videos man. I’ve watched videos of people drone on and on. You don’t. You’re talking to us, not at us. Keep it up. Course that’s just my view from the cheap seats.
Everytime I watch your videos, not only do i enjoy it, the content is legit, the information you share has a lot of value, but except your ability to connect with the viewer, your positive energy makes one really feel good after watching your content, valuable information without apocalyptic messages that makes people paranoid, there is a way to combine serious information and joy, that is what you have managed to create. Especially the tracker knife series is really interesting, because it brings light into a niche of knives, that seemed to be too specialized.I hope your channel to grow, because it's one of those few survival outdoor preparedness Channels that are enjoyable with real information without causing fear and propagating paranoia, but bringing back the love and curiosity for nature and all those wonderful gadgets. Good review Bro! Love Tops knives. Been thinking about the Brush Wolf for awhile now. As far as the haters are concerned, there is one in every group. Just do you my man.
I have the T1 tracker, and one of the things that I did that enhanced the blade for me was putting a convex edge out on that front chopping part so now it becomes truly a chopper something to consider
Hey Mr I like your videos as well. I see no reason for any bad mouthin of anybody. You don't like it, watch somebody else. Thanks for this one on a BIG knife👍👍
Two of my favorite things are discussed in this video. The TOPS Tom Brown Tracker, and Cafe Bustelo. I like TOPS' version of the tracker so well that I have all four sizes. They're all worth owning and the price only stings temporarily. You're left with knives that will last a lifetime and are so much fun to take out in the woods. Since you seem to appreciate a good cup of coffee as much as I do, I'll give you my secret for turning Cafe Bustelo instant into something to rave about. Don't use water! That's right, no water. Use whole milk (4%). Bring that to a boil in a pot or your microwave. Pour the boiling milk into a large mug with a pre measured amount of coffee and sugar if desired. Stir thoroughly. I like two heaping teaspoons of coffee in my 16 ounce mug, but less will work if you want it less strong. What you get tastes better and richer than any $6 fancy coffee drink the ripoff joints get for coffee these days. What I've described works best at home, of course, but if you have a way of keeping your milk chilled it can also work in the woods. If, that is, you like milk in your coffee. Congrats on your first TOPS and your first TOPS Tracker. They are addictive. I own a bunch of TOPS knives that I like even more than their Tom Brown Tracker. In the future I am sure you will want to acquire more TOPS knives. For the record, you do not talk too much in your videos. I appreciate all the informative things you have to say, and I find the ratio of speech to action to be just right. It's why I subbed in the first place.
Such encouraging words, Manny🙂 thank you so much! The idea on the coffee sounds like money! 👍👍. Definitely looking forward to getting the other sizes. I’m a man on a Mission now lol
I really enjoyed that video I like the fact you just want to be yourself and give your honest opinion and who really cares what other idiots have to say thank you for taking the time to make the video I appreciate it and I'm subscribing to your channel 👍
Forget the haters. This was a pleasant review. It’s a breath of fresh air away from the standard stats-based high speed cut-editing videos. When I’m in a speed, I prefer those. But when I’m not, I quite enjoyed this. Not a subscriber yet, but once I hit “post” I will be.
@@411Outdoors I wish you the best as well brother! I anticipate I’ll probably be watching a lot of your videos. Currently watching your explanation of why you like the tracker design.
@@411Outdoors there is a lawyer from Russia who does videos like this. He is the one who hand built his cottage and even dammed up a stream to give himself hydropower in the form of a water wheel which he uses to power everything from a washing machine to a lathe. But I quite enjoy that peaceful nature commentary vibe and I know there are many more like me. And we definitely enjoy this style.
Hey there, Really enjoy your enthusiasm, especially about the 'Tracker.' Took a week's course with Tom Brown about 25-30 years ago- before there was a Tracker. Liked the course, but found Tom to be a somewhat angry man- never went back.
I have been buying and eating Beef Chuck Cross Rib steaks for years now, and they are pretty tasty, although they are not as cheap as they used to be. My problem with the tracker knife, well, I won't say its ugly, but hey, that's just me. I recently purchased from Khukuri House Thamel, out of Kathmandu Nepal, a mini Khukuri with a six inch blade. And Its a great little knife. No saw back, and it weighs less then that big Tracker. I have yet to do much with it, but I have chopped and carved with it, and yeah, works great. And of all the knives I own, I would split wood with said knife. Any ways keep em sharp and watch your top knot.

Man I love your channel. All the way from Italy but I really feel like I'm in total sync with your mood in the woods, just chilling out the exact same way I do it myself lately to get some relief. Really worn down and stressed up lately due to many personal problems I'm going through, but just by watching you go in there with a blade couple hours for a cup of coffee and a steak really cheers me up. Kinda weird maybe, but good nonetheless haha. Little side effect, in the span of two weeks watching you got me from trying out the Boker mini just for fun to ordering a full size Tops Tracker just this evening hehe...
Basically long long story short; Tom Brown took heavy inspiration from Rob Russon’s design of the unpatented Tracker at-the-time (THE designer of the Tracker knife) and made a few tweaks to make it to Tom’s needs. @staradder218 trust me. I already read and watched probably 99% of the stuff that's out there about the subject. I just don't think any of the ppl that were involved in the whole thing are telling 100% truth. That's why I say nobody really knows. I get it tho and I'm not disagreeing with you
Another great video LOL love the coffee mug, i tend to end up drinking out of my org British WW1 tin cup. i am not a Tracker knife guy but love seeing you use 1. FYI the CS throwing spike 4 pack is back in stock and on sale
A seemingly overlooked or under appreciated Tops blade, is the D.A.R.T in 5160 spring steel. I recently acquired one, and absolutely love it! I’m a sucker for kukri designs though.
I have always(since early childhood)loved weaponry, and blades are my absolute favorite! They have been a fundamental staple in humanity, since the beginning. Pretending to know who really designed anything with an edge, seems pretty silly. It’s all been done before, time after time, where there is truly nothing new under the sun! The tracker, is one of the ultimate ‘one tool options’. For someone who is, for example, preparing a go bag, or bug out/get home bag, and is uncertain what knife and tools to throw in it, the tracker lives for that purpose(among many others). It is a design that deserves, and has earned respect. It’s not the best at anything, but it’s the best at everything. I’d like to see one made from any of the serious tool steels(3V, 52100, 10V, CPM D2 etc) whereas 1095 really lacks in edge retention(I get why it’s used). Anyway, I appreciate your review and style of such! To hell with the naysayers anyhow. Piece 🤙🏼
I just found your channel and sure am glad I did. I’m a knife collector and have been taking a break from it for a little while. Thinking about buying this knife. Great review. Take care and God bless
That Blade is Definitely a Wood Choppin' Beast. Cafe Bustelo is the Best. I have a Big Yellow one pound Brick in one of my Go Bags. I use an Old French Press to make mine. In Life we will Unfortunately come across Haters. Sometimes we can Ignore them... sometimes Not. Saw you on Tech Joint a few days ago with the Slingshot. Good Stuff Buddy.
@@411Outdoors Of the cheaper trackers on the market, which one would do you think is the closest in form and weight to function as a proxy(For the T1) for throwing practice?
I like it but I like that old crocodile Dundee knife which is bigger than the common Bowie knife. Hell, it's like a small sword! Like the Gerber double down and cold steel espada.
Damn this was a cosy review :) im very excited because my tracker will arrive today. I never was pumped so much for a knife. But im just a backseat surviver. I just want it to have and love it 😅 when shit hits the fan im prepared. Im from germany and fixed blades over 12cm are not allowed to carry in public.
Ha! awesome man. Use that T1 for a while then see if you can swing a T3. I'd be interested in your thoughts. When I was looking into the tracker I was just looking for an old school do everything knife and this is what I found but there were no comparison videos, because they are freaking expensive. I wouldnt throw my TB tracker either, it wont break, the thing is a beast and Tops are great quality, its more about missing my target and losing it in the brush. Keep it up man!
I used a whetstone and a file. I used a file in the bend. I didn’t have to sharpen the bottom blade. I’ll try to demonstrate with another tracker soon! I have sold this one
Great review as always. I appreciate your pace and friendly way of doing your reviews. I want to get one of these too but price is a challenge- I got a condor tracker recently and like it a lot. I think you have one too? Thanks!
I am glad that your channel has found me ! ,been going around YT on several knife channels and you get right into it and I dont see you as being" long winded" .
It really is man I’m obsessing now over collecting all four lol. If I could press a button right now and sell so much of my collection, I would just to get them.
Onh man, you’re in for a treat checking out TOPS knives. They are perhaps the best American made knives ever. Check out the tanimboka Pukko. Also the Prather Bowie is an incredible knife.
@@411Outdoors that’s wonderful brother. I’ve just started by knife review channel. I’m trying to tie in some thing from Hebrews 4:12 into the name of it. I think it’s fitting for a knife channel :) I’m doing a short on the Warivo and tying that verse into the video. I think it releases Monday. Anyways, thanks for the really great content. I see that you also review a sino art recurve too. I’m thinking of the Falcon one with the compound frame. Do you have any experience with it? Some folks say keep a budget bow really basic as the more complex budget stuff gets the junkier it is. What’s your opinion?
Daniel, whoever is sending you negative comments sounds like an a--hole hater. You come accross as a man of real character. You have several impressive skill sets so you're going to have jealous people with nothing else to do but send out negativity. Keep up what you're doing.
It’s heavy and would definitely put a terrible wound in something. Granted it chops better than it pierces but it pierces with great force when it does, I would feel confident with this in my hand is an animal latched on to me
The grind is terrible on the tops I had mine modified & it's miles better now. The stock on the T1 is too thick behind the edge & rather then chop it just crushes. & the grind on the carving bit could of been a hollow grind or high scandy as again it's too thick behind the edge to carve with that's my opinion Your videos are great brother & don't let anyone tell you any different now if the T1 works for you that's all that matters but for me I had to change the grind. Great Video 👍
I love my Tops Tracker #1 and #4,. As for "Who designed the tracker knife ...." the verdict is still out. After all, the guy who claims to have designed the original Tracker also claims to have a hand in designing Kephart's famous knife! 😆 I find it hard to believe that someone designed two famous knives and didn't make a dime off of either! Just my two cents. I'm skeptical.
Of course a good video review visually shows lots of the characteristics of the product being reviewed. But words are always needed, either spoken or displayed as text. So keep doing how you have been doing. I don’t mean you ignore the criticism but take it with a grain of salt. I did not know that it weighs 21 ounces, until you mentioned it. The heavier the easier it will chop
1:15 - you rock dude.... I was born in Ohio & I dig the polite vibe and easy going way you convey stuff .....e.g-> I picked up the necessary douchbag attitude and pseudo machismo that California mandates as a code of fraternity and common road rage and I bet I'd put you off at first and you'd wanna fight me until you epiphanized that.... . I only get fat chicks/ there's nothing to compete about . we'd make great allies because I'm an ogre . I make a good training partner cuz I weigh as much as a walrus Currently viewing to see if or how you're rating the tracker as a fighting tool I'm thinking about getting the SXB GOD BLESS

@@ChuckinSteel Fair enough. I guess it really boils down if you really like the knife or not; Buy whatever makes you happy, ya know? Good day 👍
Another great video LOL love the coffee mug, i tend to end up drinking out of my org British WW1 tin cup. i am not a Tracker knife guy but love seeing you use 1. FYI the CS throwing spike 4 pack is back in stock and on sale
Oh sweet! I gotta see that
@@411Outdoors the tin cup or throwing spikes lol??
@@2104dogface the spikes haha but the tin cup gets it done too haha
@@411Outdoors LOL well i just ordered the spikes, but i did post a few pic of the tin cup on yr FB page
A seemingly overlooked or under appreciated Tops blade, is the D.A.R.T in 5160 spring steel. I recently acquired one, and absolutely love it! I’m a sucker for kukri designs though.
Will definitely look that one up👍👍
Glad you were able to get one! Some day I hope to get one myself too. Great review.
Thank you Jeff🙂 I’m now wanting to get the other sizes too haha
Nice
This is the first time seeing you. I like your style. Keep up the good work. Now you have a new friend. Have a good day and God bless.
Thank you! You too!
You are down to earth. I am new I would like to know what pack you have on. Also if you where military. Have a good day.
Piece 🤙🏼
Thank you for such wonderful input my friend! Have a blessed day🙂
Hi daniel hope everythings ok with you and family. Is your internshipp going ok?
For me, my ESEE 5 is about the limit on weight but I can see how others would like the tracker too.
I really want to get the mid sized one. Those are my favorite.
I just found your channel and sure am glad I did. I’m a knife collector and have been taking a break from it for a little while. Thinking about buying this knife. Great review. Take care and God bless
Thanks so much! You as well! 🙂
Awesome stuff bud dont worry too much about the critics and talking too much you will find mr "know alls" all over the world. 🥂👍
You got that right!🙂👍
You know I'm a Tops fan. 👊
You definitely are 👍
@@411Outdoors you should get your hands on the brushwolf. That and my Brakimo are my 2 favorites
@@ChuckinSteel I’ll definitely look em up. I could use some tops reviews on the channel
I like the Tom Brown Tracker also but how does it compare to the Tops SXB?
Some people are rude and ignorant. I like when you talk with us🗡👍
Thanks my friend 🙂
I have the tops Brush wolf. But someday I will get the Tracker! Thanks for another great video! Dot worry about those people. Idiots are everywhere...
You’re right about that brother haha! Thanks as always 🙂👊
Thanks bro! Always very encouraging and you’re so right. Is Tech Joint another platform? If so awesome 🙂👍
@@411Outdoors
Yeah, Tech Joint is a RUclips channel and the one that I saw you on is titled...12 Self Defense Gadgets.
Take care.
Congratulations Sir!
The T1 Rockymountain is my favorite knife of all that I own:)
Such a sweet blade it is!
Glad you’re getting a tracker my friend! 🙂Thanks for watching
You do your reviews, your way, bro!
Thanks my friend!
Wow that's an awesome knife 🤯
Indeed🙂👍
Awseome video keep it up
Thanks so much!
Ha! awesome man.
Thanks brother 🙂👊
Personally I like the way you review products.
Thanks my friend 🙂
Great job on the video..
Thanks so much!
Good,man,1
What's better/more badass?
Love this man chuck steak is the go to honestly. Bang for the buck
You know it bro! It tasted even better in these woods haha
@@411Outdoors always taste better in the woods man!! I'm aching for some summer camping
2:35 you said that you touched up the edge. How did you do it?
I’d love to see how you sharpened the tracker!
I used a whetstone and a file. I used a file in the bend. I didn’t have to sharpen the bottom blade. I’ll try to demonstrate with another tracker soon! I have sold this one
Just be you ❤..
I love your videos
Thank you 🙂
😊
Awesome Brother! Do you! 😎🇺🇸
Thanks my friend!
Only coffee I drink is Bustelo lol
Buen vídeo y buen cuchillo. Un saludo desde Barcelona ( Spain)
Greetings my friend! Thanks for watching 🙂
Can you do a review on the Wayland tracker knife
It looks great! Perhaps I can at some point. Trackers are definitely a passion of mine
Great review as always. I appreciate your pace and friendly way of doing your reviews. I want to get one of these too but price is a challenge- I got a condor tracker recently and like it a lot. I think you have one too? Thanks!
Thanks brother 🙂👊 I have this one, the WARIVO and the GCS MODEL 11
I am glad that your channel has found me ! ,been going around YT on several knife channels and you get right into it and I dont see you as being" long winded" .
I appreciate that my friend 🙂
That thang is sweet 🔥
It really is man I’m obsessing now over collecting all four lol. If I could press a button right now and sell so much of my collection, I would just to get them.
Onh man, you’re in for a treat checking out TOPS knives. They are perhaps the best American made knives ever. Check out the tanimboka Pukko. Also the Prather Bowie is an incredible knife.
I’m sure! I’ve got a whole array tops knives I’m going to be reviewing in the next couple of weeks
What are your thoughts on the buck n bear bush craft tracker
I haven’t seen that one, but I’ll check it out
Man you did a really good job on this review. It’s very sincere and easy to watch. What is 4:11? Is it a Bible verse?
Thanks bro! Yep it’s two things 411 for information and 1 Thessalonians 4:11🙂👍
I want to see the ltwright genesis 3 saber grind
Man I can't wait for this snow and ice to go away. Any recommendations for a good budget tracker? I love to chop and baton!
My friend I really like the one from WARIVO on Amazon with the black handle. It’s $50
@@411Outdoors It looks awesome and affordable. Thanks much friend!
Daniel, whoever is sending you negative comments sounds like an a--hole hater. You come accross as a man of real character. You have several impressive skill sets so you're going to have jealous people with nothing else to do but send out negativity. Keep up what you're doing.
Well said brother and much appreciated 🙂👊
Got a question what do you think about that night for like self-defense against all let's say a bear or other kind of wild life
It’s heavy and would definitely put a terrible wound in something. Granted it chops better than it pierces but it pierces with great force when it does, I would feel confident with this in my hand is an animal latched on to me
Good,job,411
Thanks bro 🙂👊
The grind is terrible on the tops I had mine modified & it's miles better now.
The stock on the T1 is too thick behind the edge & rather then chop it just crushes.
& the grind on the carving bit could of been a hollow grind or high scandy as again it's too thick behind the edge to carve with that's my opinion
Your videos are great brother & don't let anyone tell you any different now if the T1 works for you that's all that matters but for me I had to change the grind.
Great Video 👍
Thanks my friend! I totally see what your saying about the grind. So true!
Very well said!
I got a voxsteed mini nightshade for Christmas and raccoon nitro for my birthday from my Mom
Thanks so much and cheers my friend 🙂
We are humans i guess.. humans talk to each other. That knive it is a bad ass.
1:15 - you rock dude.... I was born in Ohio & I dig the polite vibe and easy going way you convey stuff .....e.g-> I picked up the necessary douchbag attitude and pseudo machismo that California mandates as a code of fraternity and common road rage and I bet I'd put you off at first and you'd wanna fight me until you epiphanized that....
. I only get fat chicks/ there's nothing to compete about
. we'd make great allies because I'm an ogre
. I make a good training partner cuz I weigh as much as a walrus
Currently viewing to see if or how you're rating the tracker as a fighting tool
I'm thinking about getting the SXB
GOD BLESS
You as well! Thanks for sharing my friend
You are the Dave Ross of you tube, I love it
Thanks bro🙂👊
