Have you ever heard english name of pizza or kimchi? You can translate kimchi into fermented vegetables or whatever.... I don't think a country need english name for their cuisine....
Edit-: kanchan mam ne apni ek video me gulaab jamun ki english btate huye bola tha ki wo feeling hi nahi atti... Jab hum gulaab jamun ko English me bolte hai... So it's good to learn everything.... But jab kisi foreigner ko apni dish k ware me btaye to indian name hi use kre... Don't forget our roots, our culture and original name of our indian khana...

Yes , Ritu Saini ..u r right .jis chiz (cuisine) ka Jo native name hai wahi bolna chahiye .English name bass pata hona chahiye usse use na kare to accha hoga 🙂. So that foreigners can learn and say the Indian name of dishes instead of the English ones .

Casserole can be of any food item. Papad is spicy wafer. Poppadum is English way of saying Papadam (South Indian). Jalebi is syrup filled sweetmeat. Funnel cake is different.

That's true. It is weird. Pizza ko pizza hi bola jate uska hindi version nhi hota na hi burger ka hota hai.. Jo traditional food hai uske naam kabhi bhi chnge nhi hote.. They remain the same. Ye to ham log n kuch NRI foreigners ko better understand karane k liye english naam me conver karte hai. Can u translate their names in indian hindi Or any dialect???
Cake, pastry, pizza sausage, burger, cheez, pasta etc can u change them n indian language. We have eccepted them with the original name then why to change indian items in English name which actually doesn't exist.
