  • Our customers love Marantz receivers because they sound great and are built to last. The SR5014 and SR6014 home theater receivers pack plenty of power and modern features that'll be the centerpiece of your home theater for years to come.
    Marantz SR5014 & SR6014 receivers: www.crutchfield.com/r/5BV
These receivers are built for surround sound, and their strong, powerful amplifiers easily tackle the dynamic changes in movie soundtracks. They work with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats, too, so you can use them to power overhead speakers.
They also shine when playing music. Both receivers let you set up a second stereo zone in addition to a traditional surround sound setup, so people can watch a movie in one room and listen to music in another.
You can stream music, too, using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or Apple AirPlay 2. Plus there's built-in HEOS technology, so these receivers can become part of your whole-house music system. HEOS gives you lots of options for streaming tunes, whether it's from your personal library or a service like TIDAL, Pandora, or Spotify. You can even attach an Amazon Echo device and use Alexa to operate basic controls. Or use a Google Assistant if that's more your style.

I have a few marantz receivers all running in different rooms with identical speakers. including this one and when it comes to music, sorry to say but my marantz 2220B that was fully restored with fresh capacitors sounds exponentially better than any of the modern marantz receivers I have.. The modern receivers are great for surround sound but when it comes to music, nothing could touch the 2220B unless it’s a greater wattage receiver from the era it was made. I wasn’t happy when I heard how the modern ones sound with music.

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  4 года назад

The Marantz SR6014, which is now discontinued, had two parallel HDMI outputs to distribute the same HDMI input signal simultaneously to two separate displays, while the 3rd discrete HDMI output allows you to play a different HDMI audio/video source in another zone (Zone 2).
The Marantz SR6015 is the receiver that replaced the SR6014. The newer receiver incorporates the use of 3 HDMI outputs as well, but with some upgrades, which are having the use of two parallel HDMI outputs to distribute the same HDMI input signal (up to 8K) simultaneously to two separate displays, while the discrete HDMI output allows you to play a different HDMI audio/video source (up to 4K) in another zone (Zone 2).

  • @inchangahn6574

Thanks for your review on the two models.
    I come from Denon AVR3806 > Sony STR-DN1080 > Yamaha RX-V677 > Onkyo TX-NR737.
I bought the SR6014 two days ago and the sound is better than other AVRs so far (on my ears).
BUT, I have a major issue with SR6014 which makes me think about returning it.
    The issue is that...
when I press the button to play the audio files (mp3, FLAC, WMA etc) in Windows10 OS (in a PC)
the SR6014 produces the sound (of any songs) half volume at the start (about 0.5 seconds) and then
produce the sound at the designated volume till the end.
    For example,
A song starts with two times of beating a drum.
I am expecting to hear the two times of beating sound at full volume
but the SR6014 produces the sound of the first beat at half volume and the second beat at full volume.
It seems that the SR6014 has a built-in mechanism to protect speakers or amp circuit
by reducing the burst of impulse on electric power.
I haven't changed any other variables other than the AVR.
The PC, speakers, cables have remained as with other AVRs.
All other AVRs are (were) working all right - two strong full volume beatings.
I can bear with it when I listening to songs (or music) which start softly.
But I am annoyed to miss the impact of songs (or music) which start vigorously.
Did I get a lemon? or Am I missing something? or Is SR6014 meant to be?
    Please enlighten me (my ignorance).

Hi Jean! The USB port on the front of the Marantz SR6014 is compatible with USB flash drives, and portable hard disc drives. Any compatible USB storage devices must be formatted in FAT32 or NTFS with no more than 500 music folders and 5000 music files. The receiver's USB port is not compatible with Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android OS devices, USB hubs, and computers.
If you purchased the receiver from Crutchfield, please log into your online Crutchfield account, and obtain the contact information for technical support. You didn't mention the power supply. Is it a digital or analog power supply (how much does he thing weigh)? I purchased one of the H/K receivers with a digital power supply and it will make your ears bleed, it's loud; but it lacks "whotspa" if you know what I mean, and I'm pretty sure it is because of the digital power supply.

Hey JR, wonderful and detailed presentation, thank you! I wonder if you can help with this: Can the 6014 support a speaker setup such as a 5.1 for movies in "Zone 1" and a pair of stereo speakers with discrete tweeter connections for music in "Zone 2" (i.e. biamped)? These two zones don't have to be active at the same time. Possible? Thanks again, awesome review!

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  4 года назад

Glad you enjoyed the video Zoltan. While the Marantz 6014 does have Zone 2 capabilities, you can not bi-amp speakers in Zone 2 (with the built-in channels of the receiver). You might be able to use the Zone 2 preamp outputs and a separate power amp to achieve a system like that.

I have a Marantz A/V receiver Model# SR6006, 100 watts per channel, 7.1 Surround system I bought this unit 8 years ago brand new. What I am looking at doing is to upgrade my receiver since my current one is apparently starting to have some amp issues. I need guidance in my selection.
I am still running a VCR, and CD player, Laser disk player and Cassette deck which requires RCA connections, and I have a rack mounted PC, along with all my HDMI stuff which are about 5 items. I am using a DVDO iScan Duo which enables me to do this, (However if I have the CORRECT AMOUNT of inputs I no longer will need the iscan) it is a high-definition video processor with dual HDMI 1.3 video output capability, allowing connection to two separate displays. It converts standard definition, high definition and PC signals from up to fifteen sources (including eight HDMI) to any HDTV resolution up to 1080p.
I was looking at the different Marantz models. I am open to suggestions, but I don’t want to blow my speakers also I have listed the speakers along with the subwoofers below, to insure we have the correct match. The room size is very big almost a total of 10,000 cubic ft. with vaulted ceilings. The Marantz SR6006 handles it just right for what I am doing. But I really need advice in my selection, there are no A/V shops to go to here in the local area except for Best Buy, and they don’t know what they are talking half the time……(You don’t go to a dentist for open heart surgery.) I really need your help……Thank you in advance.

Hey Leute. Marantz ist sicherlich immer gut. Aber hört doch mal mit einem alten Boliden von Marantz in einfachem 5.1. Den neuen Geräten fehlt einfach Kraft. Das ist meine subjektive Meinung. Hört also bitte einmal mit nem alten Marantz SR14. Ein Monster mit 26,5 Kg. Da weiß man dann was all den neuen Geräten fehlt.
