  • In recent videos, we have explored how to pronounce common introductions - the greeting hello and the statement “my name is....”
We can take what we learned in previous videos and do a technique called backwards buildup. The idea is to start at the end of the sentence and slowly add words in reverse. By doing this, we can focus on indivual sounds and also improve larger elements of pronounciation.
So, I will start with my name, John. Repeat after me as I say each word.
    ___! __ ______ ____ ______
    John.
    Is John.
    name is John.
    My name is John.
    Hello! My name is John..
Now, you should do the same activity with your name. You can make the activity even more interesting by recording yourself before and after you practice saying the sentence with a backwards buildup.
How could you do this? Well, a cell phone works well, but a computer or any other kind of audio recording device will work as well.
Be sure to pay careful attention to any differences you hear between your recording and this video. Over time, you will develop a strong sense of ways that you can improve your own pronunciation.
Future videos will explore more common words and expressions.
That’s all for today! Keep up the good work!

Sometimes comma (,) with here sometimes not. What's the difference. For example, Here, I'll tell you how to say?
    Here without comma:
Here you can live with us.
    Please tell me.
