China Brings Back Moon Rocks, Poisoned Trees, University Closures, Anna Matteo on Last Lesson of LLE
Ashley Thompson and Mario Ritter host today's Learning English show.
01:07 First: A Chinese spacecraft has landed on Earth with new rock and soil samples collected from the moon. The return flight came after the Chang’e-6 spacecraft gathered the samples earlier this month. The material came from an area known as the far side of the moon, which cannot be seen from Earth. Bryan Lynn reports about the historic mission.
05:36 Then: A couple from Missouri keeps a summer home in a small town in Maine. To see the ocean better, they poisoned trees belonging to their neighbors. Now they are paying the price for their actions. Jill Robbins has the story.
09:15 Next: The LE Education Report. Caty Weaver tells about the increasing number of university closures in America and the effect they are having on tens of thousands of college students who find themselves suddenly without a school to attend.
16:58 And finally: The LE Lesson of the Day. Andrew Smith and Jill Robbins base their instruction on the LE video series Let's Learn English. Our teachers have reached episode 52, the final episode in Level One of the series. They welcome special guest Anna Matteo for a deep-dive conversation about the making of the series and a close look at final video. Anna's acting career has really "taken off!"
Mario and Ashley close the show.
