Johnathan Antoine has the richest tone with the least apparent effort. He could have easily held his notes as long as Pavarotti but didn't interpret the lyrics that way, which is part of his gift. He isn't pretentious like the others and truly comprehends the meaning of his words.
. It is a very nice voice but its pretty unevenly produced and would fall apart if he had to perform with a live orchestra unamplified. He is also is not a particularly good interpreter too though a very sympathetic performer who i enjoy listening too.
Richest tone? Girl he literally had microphone in front of his mouth. This song is meant to be performed in an opera house without a microphone and pierce through the orchestra to reach audience to the last row of the seats. no basis putting the great corelli and pavarotti among these wannabes
@@creutzfeldtjakob7 Of course and he sings most of the sung in microphone mezzo voce that nobody would hear in a theater and his top notes actually cave in instead of becoming larger and more bright. Can he hold the note longer, probably but then he still has the rest of the opera to sing which he won't be able to. Nevertheless he is a nice guy and has a good voice.
My opera coach was there when Pavarotti initially auditioned and stated how amazing his voice was at a young age. The resonance in his voice was a placement several feet outside and in front of his body. No microphone was ever needed for him. Opera performers know how to project that voice into the vast open space. Just because you can sing the notes does not mean you are on the same plane.
Corelli for technique, but Pavarotti for passion. Pavarotti could set your soul on fire start to finish. In time, that will be Johnathan. And I never want to hear David Phelps again.
Pavarotti is a whole different level, but amongst all the others, I liked Jonathan Antoine the most. Can't wait to see more of his professional growth.
Phelps was outclassed and Bocelli was without emotion. The others were stellar, but the young Pavarotti was untouchable. Antoine may reach that level someday.
Why do you say that? I think other people's are just as good as his. Some people just have a really nice tone and vibrato, obviously his was good no doubt but why all the dramatics about it?😭
What a treat! Each was wonderful in their own way. Always love Pavarotti and recognize his voice anywhere. Jonathan has captured my heart--he will become the gold standard.
Jonathan Antoine’s voice is already nearly there even at this young age. The emotion is already there. Every performance he improves. I can’t wait to hear him at the peak of his career. Next year?! Next decade? He’s amazing.

Surprised as an Opera Coach you could suggest Corelli renowned for the richness, power and brightness of his top notes B4 and C5 was straining his voice.Sadly no clips of Del Monaco, or Bjorling.Pavarotti made this aria famous, but in reality, Turandot not a perfect opera for a Lyric Tenor and not ideally suited to his voice.
They were all spectacular I hold the utmost respect for Pavarotti I grew up listening to him. There is something about Jonathan Antonio's voice that truly brings tears and joy to my heart.
I enjoyed hearing the differences like this. I knew on round one but I listened 3 times to be certain. 1. Corelli - I had goosebumps all thru both clips 2. Pavarotti is simply magnificent 3. Antoine gave me chills too but not like Corelli
The ease that Pavarotti and Jonathan Antoine sings in comparison with Jonas Kaufman is funny. All brilliant, but Kaufman looks like a vein is about to explode.
There are 2 that did it best in my humble opinion first Pavarotti then Johnathan . Both we're absolutely the greatest ever , all the others we're ok at best!!!
Pavarotti the best of all time. Corelli 2nd. But Jonathan Antoine is by far the next best. Thing is He is still young and improving so who knows how much better he will be in a few years. Jonathan needs to prove he can sing a whole great opera to end up on their pedestal.
Pavarotti for the past and Jonathan Antione for the future. No one beats Pavarotti in his prime for Nessun Dorma; he holds the note pure until the end! As Jonathan continues to develop his voice and style, he will be able to fill the void from the loss of Pavarotti!
Pavarotti, Jonathan Antoine, and whoa, what a gorgeous emotion and quality in Jonas Kaufmann's voice!! If only Kaufmann hadn't cut the note so short...I wanted to hear more and more of it.
No way to pick 1 favorite! Even up against true Italian masters though Jonathans beautiful JOY while singing with body and soul make him the absolute standout for me! after listening to opera for many years! Johnny makes my 70 yo heart SMILE💗

Corelli's: the most explosive one (unmatched). Pavarotti's: maybe the most beautiful. Jonathan: hmm.. almost like Pavarotti. Let's see him in few years.
Picking the best of this collection was far too easy. I'm not a follower of opera, but even I can see that Corelli and Pavarotti are head and shoulders above the others.
For me it can only be the late lamented Luciano Pavorotti, who set and incredibly high benchmark that most can sadly only dream of even approaching. It still brings a tear to my eye such power, such control, truly music for the soul...
Luciano reaches my soul. Every time he hits the money maker notes and long notes he is so powerful that I have to take a breath and exhale. Jonathan keep working on it cause you are still young and have a lot to learn. You are incredible but trust me as a fellow singer we have so much to learn but you have been loaned a gift keep workin on it cause you could be up there with luciano.
I know it’s not included, but Jussi Bjorgling’s to me is one of, if not, the best performance of Nessun Dorma. Pavarotti, and young Jonathan Antoine are absolutely superb too!
Not a fair comparison for me as Jonathan was not performing with a full orchestra like the others. I guarantee his full version would honor Pavarotti .
1. Franco Corelli 2. Luciano Pavarotti 3. Andrea Bocelli. I’m judging him from a concert I attended. Not from this video. I really loved Jonathan Antoine.
Pavarotti. But, am so glad Jonathon Antione is here because that young man can fill Pavarotti’s shoes. For someone so young he is incredible. ❤️ Love Jonathon’s music.
@@Durufle68 This is true but then again nobody will ever be able to fill Jonathan's shoes when he's passed either because like Pavarotti he's a one off and beautifully unique talent.
I thought Jonathan’s final phrase was amazing. Don’t know how much the recording being so new helps. Besides being powerful, he has a very pleasant voice to listen to. Pavarotti is Pavarotti. Can’t not like him singing Nessun Dorma. That would be like not liking Queen do Bohemian Rhapsody.
Newest Music Video, Jonathan singing "lo Si/Seen" per Grammy award winning composer Diane Warren's request! He sings the harmonies too. BEAUTIFUL!!! It debuted at #1 on itunes Classical Chart.
There is no question. the early Pavarotti was by far the best. You turned me on to a couple I never heard of and will go check out now. I've heard others do Nessum Dorma who you don't have. But I've never seen that early clip of Pavarotti, and though I have heard the song by many dozens of wonderful singers, I've never heard a better version.
Is there even a debate? Luciano Pavarotti is leaps and bounds above just about everybody. The really interesting thing is how well Jonathan is doing. Such a great talent.
No, he is not. Pavarotti only sang this role 6 times in his life. He said that if he sung the role more, he would damage his voice. This role was not suited to Pavarotti's lyric tenor voice. It requires a dramatic voice. This opera has one of the biggest orchestra and they use a lot of brass instruments. There are huge choirs and big voiced dramatic sopranos. This is just a very big opera, hopefully you can hear that from this example: ruclips.net/video/gVdgIiar_0Y/видео.html The first act also has quite a few low notes, again not ideal for a lyric tenor voice. Corelli sang this role 123 times, he was known as the Calaf. But there were others who was also great in role, like for example Giacomo Lauri Volpi, the role as written for him originally.

Pavarotti will never be topped in my opinion but jonothan Antoine was a surprisingly great climax with a wonderful voice
Johnathan Antoine has the richest tone with the least apparent effort. He could have easily held his notes as long as Pavarotti but didn't interpret the lyrics that way, which is part of his gift. He isn't pretentious like the others and truly comprehends the meaning of his words.
Lol
How could Jonathan Antonie hit the top note so effortlessly!!!
He has a microphone that is very obvious, he is not an opera singer.
Phelps was outclassed and Bocelli was without emotion. The others were stellar, but the young Pavarotti was untouchable. Antoine may reach that level someday.
Oh he will! He definitely will! He's getting close.
They are all fantastic singers..
Kaufmann & Antoine now those are voices...
You are joking of course, Jonathon passed them already.
@@raybrooking8084 Jonathan 2d place Pavarotti #1
Luciano of course but 2nd is Jonathan. When I heard him on BGT. He made me sob and his Empty Chairs is like no rendition I've ever heard.
No of course Corelli.
Jonathan has the warmest voice with least efforts ! :-)
Luciano, without question or debate. He is the standard, against which all others will be measured. God rest his soul.
pavarotti is a lyric tenor, Corelli dramatico
Why do you say that? I think other people's are just as good as his. Some people just have a really nice tone and vibrato, obviously his was good no doubt but why all the dramatics about it?😭
Andrea was great too. Maybe he has less vibrato but I admire how long his A4 can be.
wrong! pavaroti lyric tenor compare waht it can be !
So lucky to have seen him twice
What a treat! Each was wonderful in their own way. Always love Pavarotti and recognize his voice anywhere. Jonathan has captured my heart--he will become the gold standard.
Thanks much for your video to bring such excellent joyeux with technic informations
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jonathan Antoine’s voice is already nearly there even at this young age. The emotion is already there. Every performance he improves. I can’t wait to hear him at the peak of his career. Next year?! Next decade? He’s amazing.
Pavarotti is, of course, awesome. But i have to say Jonathan Antoine is sooo sooo awesome too. I love his voice.
Newest Music Video, Jonathan Antoine singing "Io Si/Seen" per Grammy award winning composer, Diane Warren's request! He sings the harmonies too. BEAUTIFUL!!! It debuted at #1 on itunes Classical Chart.
Let's hear it unamplified.
@@Durufle68
Still wouldn't discredit the beauty and richness of his voice, this obsession on whether he qualifies as a fully operatic Tenor needs to stop because A) most people with ears can hear he isn't and B) he has never claimed to be then again neither are; Andrea Bocelli, Russell Watson, Alfie Boe but all have world renowned Tenor voices that have garnered much admiration in the classical-crossover scene and rightly so because they all have wonderful voices even if only semi-operatic as opposed to 100% so.
As an opera coach. Jonathan was the only one not straining his voice to reach the notes whatsoever. Just because someone is old time famous doesn't make them the best.
Newest Music Video, Jonathan Antoine singing "Io Si/Seen" per Grammy award winning composer Diane Warren's request! He sings the harmonies too. BEAUTIFUL!!! It debuted at #1 on itunes Classical Chart.
I’m doubting you’re an opera coach if you think some of these others were “straining” their voices to reach these notes.
I was disappointed that Mario Lanza was not included in this clip 😢
Surprised as an Opera Coach you could suggest Corelli renowned for the richness, power and brightness of his top notes B4 and C5 was straining his voice.Sadly no clips of Del Monaco, or Bjorling.Pavarotti made this aria famous, but in reality, Turandot not a perfect opera for a Lyric Tenor and not ideally suited to his voice.
Correlli?
Since Franco Corelli is who Pavarotti basically emulated it's got to be Corelli
They were all spectacular I hold the utmost respect for Pavarotti I grew up listening to him. There is something about Jonathan Antonio's voice that truly brings tears and joy to my heart.
Pavarotti’s ability to sustain that last Vincero…incredible. Mind blowing in its power and emotional strength.
Filmed for his movie,
“ Yes Giorgio”
Johnathan Antoine. He has more soul in his voice than all of these guys.
I enjoyed hearing the differences like this. I knew on round one but I listened 3 times to be certain.
1. Corelli - I had goosebumps all thru both clips
2. Pavarotti is simply magnificent
3. Antoine gave me chills too but not like Corelli
can't wait for Jonathan to perform that on stage...
The ease that Pavarotti and Jonathan Antoine sings in comparison with Jonas Kaufman is funny. All brilliant, but Kaufman looks like a vein is about to explode.
Franco Corelli is fantástic! Number one!!!
Pavarotti and Antoine
Corelli had such power and presence, Pavarotti brought it to the masses and Jonathon is one to watch.
Luciano Pavarotti will always remain my favorite tenor of all times. Jonathan Antoine is my second favorite. Beautiful music in this world.
Pavarotti is not really good. Corelli is the best there
@@maximtuboltsev6046 HA that’s got to be the dumbest thing I’ve heard this year and I’ve heard tons of stupid shit
I like how only Pavarotti and Corelli are actual tenors in this entire list
Pavarotti for the past and Jonathan Antione for the future. No one beats Pavarotti in his prime for Nessun Dorma; he holds the note pure until the end! As Jonathan continues to develop his voice and style, he will be able to fill the void from the loss of Pavarotti!
All wonderful performers. But Luciano yes! Jonathan a very close second.
Jonathan Antoine is this generations Pavarotti.
Franco Corelli gave each single note it's value, is the best
Pavarotti, Jonathan Antoine, and whoa, what a gorgeous emotion and quality in Jonas Kaufmann's voice!! If only Kaufmann hadn't cut the note so short...I wanted to hear more and more of it.
100% agree with every word!! 💕
No way to pick 1 favorite! Even up against true Italian masters though Jonathans beautiful JOY while singing with body and soul make him the absolute standout for me! after listening to opera for many years! Johnny makes my 70 yo heart SMILE💗
Clearly, Jonathan Antoine.
I think we miss the point by picking out the best. Each tenor has a unique voice. It's like a basket of apples each one has a unique color, flavor, and sweetness. How is possible to pick the best, and enjoy them all. Or the great Masters how would you pick the best or most beautiful painting? Just sit back and enjoy them all.😊
Johnathan Antoine. My gosh he is still so young! Power!🤗❤❤
Jonathan Antoine above all others.
Others might be technically more trained but Jonathan Antoine´s voice makes me cry every time I hear him.
me too! Loved him ever since that talent show.....his first album was amazing and brings me to tears. Never listened to Opera until him.
@@berthamiles6507 I hope he gets some training and it will keep him from falling into bad habits that could shorten his vocal life. A very talented tenor.
So true: he really knows how to touch your heart and soul!
Hugs and roses!
The chubby chap has brilliant alliteration. I felt he was singing every word where others were shouting. I have eleven and a half litre lungs, so can make a lot of sound for a long time at the proper pitch. I appreciate his approach to perfecting his talent.
No matter who's the best. The important thing is that they all sounds amazing.
Have to say Pavarotti and Jonathan Antoine, his was a home recording and he's still so young
Antoine's voice is "shallow" not near the depth of the master. I may grow to be compared with Pavarotti but not yet.
@@robertjwilliams3532 ugh, no. Not shallow in the least. What kind of idiotic comment was that? His projection and power were jaw dropping. Some of that will be the recording, seeing as he was in a small room, but what room acoustics might contribute is only so much, the dynamics were really impressive.
I agree but those I1 Volo young men are great too. I hope they are all successful. All of the examples are so talented.

Jonathon Antoine. Love his singing. Just beautiful❤️❤️❤️
As much as I absolutely love Bocelli, i have to give this to Pavarotti and Johnathan! ❤
And the winner is... my ears!
What amazing voices 👏👏👏!!!
Jonathan Antoine is the youngest and absolutely amazing. And here , he was just goofing around at home during the pandemic. Wow 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Pavarotti, and surprisingly enough Jonathan Antoine, wow! What a voice!

Corelli's: the most explosive one (unmatched). Pavarotti's: maybe the most beautiful. Jonathan: hmm.. almost like Pavarotti. Let's see him in few years.
I got goose bumps with Johnathan. They all a different rang. They are all fantastic.
Picking the best of this collection was far too easy. I'm not a follower of opera, but even I can see that Corelli and Pavarotti are head and shoulders above the others.
Out of these very talented performers Luciano Pavarrotti had the best performance. In my humble opinion. Thank you.
For me it can only be the late lamented Luciano Pavorotti, who set and incredibly high benchmark that most can sadly only dream of even approaching. It still brings a tear to my eye such power, such control, truly music for the soul...
Agree. There is no comparison in my opinion. Luciano Pavarotti is perfection. His "Panis Angelicus" is outstanding.
Pavarotti, but now, Jonathan Antoine👍❤
Jonathan amazing!
No disrespect to any of them, but Jonathan is the best.
Jonathan es increíble!! es joven y una voz espléndida...sin desmerecer a los demas...él es el mejor en mi opinión ❤
1. Franco Corelli
2. Luciano Pavarotti
3. Andrea Bocelli. I’m judging him from a concert I attended. Not from this video.
I really loved Jonathan Antoine.
Have to say Jonathan Antoine, without an orchestra, just a living room performance and nailed it ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Thank you for including Jonathan Antoine. He is amazing!
The best is Jussi Björling 🎶 ❤️
Pavarotti. But, am so glad Jonathon Antione is here because that young man can fill Pavarotti’s shoes. For someone so young he is incredible. ❤️ Love Jonathon’s music.
Ok- no ONE will EVER fill Pavarotti's shoes. There was only one and there will only EVER be the original.
@@Durufle68
This is true but then again nobody will ever be able to fill Jonathan's shoes when he's passed either because like Pavarotti he's a one off and beautifully unique talent.
OMG ❤ Corelli, Pavarotti ✨✨✨
Luciano, Jonathan Antoine, Andrea Bocelli
Jonathan Antoine hands down!
WOAH David has the best straight tone I’ve even seen!!
No close of singers like Franco Corelli and Pavarotti here.
E del Monaco dove l'avete lasciato?
Have you ever heard Jussi Bjoerling?
Btw, this clip is from 1982 "Yes, Giorgio" movie.
They are all amazing! What a God given gift!
This is just a very big opera, hopefully you can hear that from this example:
ruclips.net/video/gVdgIiar_0Y/видео.html
The first act also has quite a few low notes, again not ideal for a lyric tenor voice. Corelli sang this role 123 times, he was known as the Calaf. But there were others who was also great in role, like for example Giacomo Lauri Volpi, the role as written for him originally.
Wow Wow Wow!!!!!! All are unbelievable but the King, Luciano Pavarotti still reigns in my heart!
I never realized how good Jonathan Antoine is until you compare him with the others, WOW!
This is a false comparison though.
No dubt, Franco Corelli, he was one of the best Calaf in History of opera, according to Masini, Di Stefano, Del Monaco, Lauri Volpi and Pertile
he is not the best Calaf ...... HE IS CALAF no point !
Who gave me goosebumps?
Pav, Jonathan, Corelli
Pavarotti every day and twice on Sundays! I like Jonas Kaufmann too along with Jonathan Antoine but favorite will always be Pavarotti.

I am soon to be 65. I have been ENORMOUSLY blessed to have seen Luciano Pavarotti perform at the MET, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center etc.... and NO ONE CAN TOUCH THIS VOICE. Many have tried but he was BLESSED and gifted us much. I hope to hear him on the other side.
