    Actually ancient Chinese achieved this technology but ,didn't used it in fear of air strategy which is very dangerous

    would it still be impossible considering todays light light weight matrials ?

      Not likely. The only working man-powered ornithopter example I am aware of is the UTIAS Snowbird. It could not take off on its own and it could only fly for less than an minute, after which the pilot was fatigued. The Daedalus 88 was a more succesfull man-powered aircraft, but it used a conventional propeller rather than flapping wings to provide thrust. It is especially noteworthy that both machines used leg movements rather than arm movements, since those muscles are better developed in humans and more up to the task.
