Thanks Omri Ron Architects, we are really getting into the detail with Sketchup and PlusSpec, we will keep these videos coming as we will soon be releasing some exciting technology that ties the industry together. We have also started a podcast called Architects are from Mars, Builders are from Venus and it deals with communication with clients, contractors and designers. Here is the link, thanks for commenting. plusspec.com/podcast/

TLDR: Can I use your tool to get every single piece of wood size? And then, use that information to pre -cut all my lumber ,and have my crew put them together to frame out a 18 ft by 12 ft home extension ?
    Hi,
Thanks for the great work. I am building/ rehabing a house on my own with a crew. The crew is good with cutting and putting lumber together. But we do not know carpentry. My question is, 1) how accurate is your tool 2) Does it know code compliance (example: Span table, size of lumber to use for ..say 12 feet header) . The idea is , I create the model, get a detailed part list, pre cut them, and them assemble them like lego pieces. Thanks

Yes that's exactly what Plusspec does as far as cutlists go. Code compliance is subject to municipality, loads ETC however, its not an engineering tool. Plusspec enables you to change header heights, stud spacing, and lumber/ timber size. Ideally you contact the office as a little birdy tells me there is a new release coming very soon that delivers more in less time with less waste. If you buy now you'll save money as the new release will stay the same price for existing users under a Grandfather clause.... And updates are free for existing subscribers

Hi Highlander, I am involved in the development of the tool we will be releasing a new version called PlusDesignBuild which creates order lengths, lumber sizes, bid requests, and create purchase orders and more. It is a very advanced version of PlusSpec You can paper register here plusspec.com/new_plusdesignbuild/

Hi. With PlusSpec can I do the same work but with LSF (Light Steel Framing)? And can I update the database with new profiles?

Antonio, we have been working on light steel framing in-house, yet the majority of our users are timber frame if we had sufficient call for it we would. In our beam tool, we have RHS SHS, C section light gauge steel and hot rolled steel including UB Channel and flat which could be used as studs and associated with a wall like in the video. If you could let me know what you need and why I may be able to shed some light on what will be coming out in the future. Are you a builder or frame and truss supplier?

Thanks for your answer. I'm a builder starting a company to build houses and small commercial buildings, specialized in Light Steel Framing constructions. One of the most important thing to me is that my designs must be in BIM technology. When I saw PlusSpec and it's framing capacity, I became very interested. So I need to do the same thing that PlusPec already do with timber, but with light steel frames (basically frames in C section, downturn lip C, standard Z, downturn lip Z, U section, L section and studs). And if the software output a cut list and CNC instructions to produce the frames it will be great.
I really enjoyed everything in PlusSpec. So I will install the demo and see how I can do my jobs with it. If I have any doubt I will contact you again.
      Thank you.
