This match just shows how emotions can rule sporting events. I was told Wisconsin won this match but as I watched it I thought I misunderstood. Minnesota clearly looked in charge, but in the end somehow Wisconsin prevailed
I don't even care that Minnesota lost, the way they came back in the 1st and 3rd set really shows how powerful and determined they are, plus Wisconsin is a good team, really enjoyed every moment

Minnesota needs middles that can hit and who are aggressive on the over pass! It's great that are both good blockers but, after awhile the offense get so predictable! If Minnesota had middle that could hit the ball they would be an amazing team and have threats not only on the pins but, in the middle!
It's more on the setter (Shafmaster) -- she runs the offense and she hasn't improved her game much since her freshman year sadly. A setter "improves the ball" from the pass to then give the attacker the best chance of success. If you watch video from the Minnesota-Purdue match, you can see Shafmaster's very poor decisions in distributing sets. You can watch replays and see the Purdue blockers camping out on the 2 frontrow hitters. Shafmaster will repeatedly set Samedy (as the blockers camp out) and once Samedy is blocked or hitting error two times in a row, Shafmaster predictably then sets to the other side, in which the blockers are already camped out ready to block Wenaas or Miyabe.
Cc McGraw struggles in serve receive a lot and throughout this whole match. That top freshman libero next year is going to challenge her starting libero spot, if she wants to stay another year.
CC is great for sure but Laney would play over her. She’s lucky that Laney is coming later. And as for Jenna and Taylor, McKenna is coming and she’s going to start so we will have to see which of those two will step up. McKenna is a beast. Personally I think have Jenna and McKenna on the outside and put Taylor on the opposite with a D/S
And after this competitive match, and the fact Minnesota beat Ohio State both times this season in the regular season, the AVCA coaches now place OSU one spot above Minnesota in the Nov. 22 rankings....I think the voting coaches have no idea what to do with the powerhouse B1G conference teams in the overall rankings...
