  • You want to learn in an easy and simple way how to use an 8mm film projector, in this video I show you how to load the film, focus, select frame rate, correct the elevation and the horizon, view the film in reverse, and rewind the film.
You can also find information on why it is not convenient to use the RECORD controls while watching a movie.

WOW !! So glad I found this. I have a different Chinon Super 8mm Sound projector BUT did not know you could make the image bigger on the screen until I saw this!! Wow, what a difference as it was always in the smaller screen size. Had no idea. I had been brought up using a SEARS Super 8 sound projector and it did not have that option just was always pretty big screen image and that was back in the 1970s. So very glad to see that and just watched the 18 minute sound and color MGM THE WIZARD OF OZ that came out in the late 70s in Super 8 and it looked great. So thank you for putting this up.

I just bought a Chinon 7000 and this is the perfect tutorial video. Only problem is my projector crinkled the lead in of the first film, but the second spool was fine.

Thank you for the video. I just obtained a Chinon SP-330 which is working (of a fashion) but requires a little attention - Mainly greasing/oiling I think.
The reel winders operate but seem a little 'sluggish'. I wish I could get a repair or service manual for it, but none seem available.
All the best to you from the UK

Hi, great videos. My chinon will only run super 8mm and will not take up single 8mm film; the teeth in the sprockets dont look spaced right for single 8 either.
The instructions say it will play both though, what am I missing? Thanks!

      Hello Mahon,
I have thought that myself; in the instructions in the specifications part it says:
      Film Types.
Super 8 and single 8 film.
So far I have only been able to test the projector with super 8mm film, I have not been able to get an 8mm film.

Single 8 is from Fuji ...and it's the same as Super 8 but on polyester filmstock . The other format is Standard/ Regular 8 film, made from split, double perforated 16mm film. Only very few sound projectors can play Standard 8.

Can you show the sound recording feature?
Do you have to first start the film moving forward?
I can depress the red record button but then it kicks out if i try to transport the film
But if i start the film first i cant get the record button to stay down

Hi. Thanks for a great tutorial video. Is this an 8mm or super 8mm reel?

I think it can be changed since it’s a later model but i’m not sure

Do you know if this projector can also project Regular 8mm? The manual seems to indicate that it can, but it doesn't say how to change the machine over to be compatible with the different sized sprockets.

Hi there. My front arm doesn’t turn anymore. It’s ok to watch a film but it can’t rewind as it is not turning. Is this something that can be fixed? Appreciate any help or guidance

      @spencerstrickland6812 Год назад

@@tonymunford5804 yes I have light. The issues I believe (I took it apart the other night and inspected it) lies with the motor not starting up. There’s also a wire that has been burned by a part of the circuit board. Kind of given up on it becoming operational.

Unfortunately, most 8mm films suffer from dye decaying, rendering a reddish hue, so those films look like a Virtual Boy videogame.
