- The Golden State Warriors are NBA Champions again. Steph Curry led the way for Golden State with 34 points on 6 of 11 shooting from three. The Boston Celtics led by 12 early, but once the Warriors got a lead in the first quarter, they never gave it up in the 103-90 win. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe on the Warriors being crowned NBA Champs.

Rondo has good handles but he lacks in defense and his shooting is spoty... Boston literally only needs a PG with handles, passing and defense... Marcus Smart almost got them there... I mean come on. If smart would enter next season exorbitantly better at handling and passing... They would win at least 3 in a row... Find smart a counterpart for the rotation... Someone equally as good on defense but much better facilitating the ball and this team wins... A lot. White may even be that guy should the Cs actually give him minutes... They are close... Hope they don't break the team up...

Really expected more from Tatum, honestly did not expect him to be outshined by Jaylen Brown who was all over the court in the first 4 games. Tatum is still so young so he'll have plenty of time to rewrite his narrative. Also I think you guys would benefit a lot from a veteran true point guard to do some playmaking and take the pressure off your young wings.

To get off Skip's hate list, you need to score 40+ points per game with an equal distribution of points per quarter, shoot at least 50% from the field (including 3P), you can't go more than a 90 seconds without scoring, you can't miss Free Throws, have little to no turnovers, play suffocating defense, be the closer in every game without "frontrunning," get very little help from your teammates, go through the hardest path in the playoffs, finish off your opponents in 5 games or less, face completely healthy teams, all while possibly dealing with injuries to your own team. Edit: I forgot to add, average 7+ assists, 7+ rebounds, you can't get fatigued or benefit off of any questionable/bad calls, otherwise all accolades are disqualified.
To be on Skip's liked list: Just score 42 points against Utah once or go on an 8-3 stretch in the NFL and your legacy is set for life. 😂

Here’s the problem with skip and a lot of these analysts. When it comes to Steph, he will always look for something to negate anything good that he does. Steph scores 43 points and 10 rebounds and skip points out that Steph scored the majority of his points when they had the lead. When Steph scores 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists because he’s double teamed all night, all skip wants to talk about is that the supporting cast won the game. When he scores 34 in game 6, all skip wants to talk about is that on the 21-0 run, Steph only scored 3 points. I thought that the SUPPORTING CAST is supposed to help. It still is a team sport. And he can’t stop bringing up 2015 and 2016. That was 7 years ago. He was a different player back then. Not trying to act like it never happened but why can’t he give credit for good performance without always looking for something to shade it?
Really they do it with every player! They all have black marks on their record. What do you think this is participation trophy time? These athletes play at the highest level get paid the most and warrant the most scrutiny.

I think Skip wants Steph to win a game by himself, making 3s snd scoring 15 or 20 pts per quarter, scoring in the cruntch times and be on defense all night, without being fatigued. Even if Steph manages to do so, he will talk about the 3 pointer shots he missed in the 4th quarter in 2016 and 2019 finals. When KD blew out a 3-1 lead on the Warriors, it was Westbrook the problem, when KD comes out small it's always someone else that he blames
Thank you. Skip has his favorites and he has his players that he doesn’t like. That’s ok. We all have players that we like and dislike. But when a player that I dislike has a great game or series I will either give him credit or I won’t comment and maybe change the subject. But I won’t try to find something to diminish it.

The Warriors' defense is underrated. They made it look easy. On top of that, they have one of the best, if not the best, offense in the league. They were so good at rotating the ball that the Celtics looked bad. It was a complete mismatch, games 2, 5 and 6 looked like a regular season game. Never a close game since he made that dagger 3 on game 4. It's just like they ran away with the series 🤣
The major turnaround this game was the 21-0 Warrior run which is the only one in a NBA finals in 50 years, they completely controlled the game after that.

I like how they talk about how the Celtics turn it over so much but completely disregard the Warrior's defense. As if all they do is shoot well. One of the best defenses in the league and certainly the best in this playoff series, but because of how they are perceived their defense is completely disrespected.

People forget that even though some of the Celtics' turnovers were just clumsy, a lot of them were thanks to Warriors' defense. Even Curry played great defense and that's not what he's known for.
Golden State defeated the Celtics, that's what happened. And Curry deserved that Finals MVP, amazing run.
Exactly. A fair amount of those turnovers were due to the defense getting Boston off their game and they'd throw the ball away. The warriors were far and away the best defense in the NBA when Draymond was healthy. He would've won dpoy in a landslide if he played enough games to be eligible.
Boston was an awesome team. They probably would've been able to beat Phoenix, and NGL, they would've CRUSHED Memphis. However, they had to go against my warriors, and we were just the better team down the stretch. They'll get better. But right now, they were a pretty good team that had to run into a dynasty reloaded

Steph was caught so many times last night defensively with Al Horford on him. A living monster… but he wasn’t overpowering Steph in the post for position so Boston wasnt hunting it!! All series, even in GS, i dont think Warriors were getting same calls, yet they cried less and flopped least (besides draymond the first 3 games) and thats the leadership some other stars dont have. I know Poole is young and we’ll need him, let him play. Rondo AND drew Holiday were in top 10 when they played with him… But he wasnt willing and isn’t willing to be a leader in a deferential way. Same as when KD came. He stayed good but deferred to KD… but KD still benefited from his gravity on the court. It such an amazing thing to watch breakdowns of so called steph “bad games”… game 5 was epitome of that. Steph shot that poorly yet commanded the defenses polarity… all the back cuts and open shots and lanes open up all because of him. Because of respect. I have never seen anything like it. Ever… they shade and double him. So when he has a good game, you know how demoralizing that is to a defense? The so called best in the league. (Williams is more of an impact defender than Smart could ever be what a joke) But he rips and tears his man AND the game plan to shreds. Chess over checkers. 2 things 1: I'm not a Warriors fan but give them props for their win last night. I never fell into the camp that they couldn't do it without KD, even tho they won before him. 2: Skip needs to stop finding excuses not to give credit to players like Steph when they play their tails off. Game four was the key game. Boston thought they had it but it was the insane game Curry played. He was just impossible to stop. After that it was all downhill for the Celtics. Steph was the X factor in a well rounded team. Wiggins did the best job out of the other Warriors but everyone contributed in different moments. Really rough times for Skip.
The Warriors defense deserve a lot of credit for forcing most of those turnovers. It’s ok to say that.

As far as the opponents, I do think many of them were just better than these Celtics. Most of those teams had legit veterans leading them or MVPs. Here, the Celtics are just too young still and they lack a true point guard to help get that offense going in tough spots. It's why they can never really seem to stop the bleeding when things start going wrong for them. It was evident even in the Heat series, which should've never gone to 7.

Celtics were a tougher match up than Miami would have been. I was honestly scarred of Boston and was hoping for Miami. There were 3 teams I was concerned about and they were Memphis, Mavs, and Celtics. We faced them all and overcame them.

The Celtics definitely had a chance against GS, but their flaws were bright as day. GS did a great job defending as well as poor mistakes by the Celtics leading to multiple turnovers. And Steph Curry was for sure the best player in this Finals. He had an amazing series.
