    Your review influenced my wife to purchase the Santa Fe Sport limited, and she is very happy with this model. We got the 4 cylinder just to keep clear of the potential repair costs of a turbo engine. I moved the tire changing gear to behind the rear seat along with the emergency supplies, so the rear storage is better utilized. Thanks for your great work as a auto journalist.

    Hahaha! I love your reviews. And I'm a fan of your signature move, closing yourself in trunks and luggage areas. This may be the most entertaining one I've seen so far. Oh, and, of course, I appreciate how in-depth you go (pun maybe intended). It's obvious you really put in the time and work to get to know these vehicles.

    Alex ~ this was a *very* helpful video. Quick & concise while still providing comprehensive detail (yours is the first of 1/2 dozen videos to tell me about the removable under-floor cargo divider). You are good. Kudos! And, thank you!

    Just my 2¢: i prefer 1 long video instead of multiple parts. I find it easier to skip ahead or whatever than to find and click one of the other 4 parts.
    Great reviews! :)

      I agree, I'd prefer one long video as well.
      Alex, you mentioned the 2015 Honda CR-V's mileage. Has Honda released those figures yet? I thought they weren't going to do that until Sept. 30.

      CJ VN
      Honda has been cagey on it, but I have heard some rumblings that it should be similar or slightly better than the Rogue.
      I agree on the 1 part vs 2 part issue however I've had quite a bit of feedback from viewers and this seems to be the preference. In addition RUclips honestly is driving this since it causes your viewed percentage score to increase thereby improving search rankings. I dislike it and wasn't willing to go to the level YT recommended which is a long string of 5 minute chunks, that just sounded insane.

    Alex please review the 2015 Kia Sedona when you get the chance! The Sedona looks more like a mix or minivan and suv while the others have traditional minivan looks with barely any suv looks

      You're in luck! I'm working on the Sedona video right now. I'm not sure when it will go live but I'm guessing sometime between Saturday and Tuesday...

    One flaw is the 2014 Santa fa sport had a engine problem when they made the motor they left metal shavings in the piston which cause the motor to go out at around 85,000 mile. That happened to my car. But the best thing was they replaced it with a new motor at no cost to me, so I am very happy with my car. Talk about the motor please.

    Hey Alex, great video nut I always wonder... How is Hyunda/Kia able to offer so many luxurious features (heated and cooled seats, rear seat vents, heated steering wheel, panoramic roof etc) at such a low price? it seems as if every model they come out with is almost a class above when it comes to feature content. How is that possible at normal segment prices? And why aren't any of the other manufacturers doing this?

    • @AAutoBuyersGuide
      @AAutoBuyersGuide  9 лет назад +2

      ***** There are a few factors. First Hyundai/Kia are large vertically integrated companies so they can control costs extremely well at most steps of the production process. Second they have a decent combined world wide volume which helps them employ economies of scale and lastly they have become good within the last few years of knowing which corner to cut and which not to cut. So you'll find entries like the Sorento that is well equipped but lacks the variation you find in some of the competition, you'll find bundled options instead of stand alone options that reduce dealer inventory and in general you'll find a blend of high quality touch points surrounded by less expensive plastics which also saves cash. Put it all together and you get high feature content for the dollar.

    • @brucec43
      @brucec43 8 лет назад

      +Tyler Kandhai Many features that cost thousands on luxury cars are quite inexpensive components to buy. A heated seat element is like $20. But you'll pay $500 or more for the feature on some brands. Upgraded stereos are usually $100 more in speakers and $150 on an amp/sound processor upgrade. Cost to you could be $1200. They're huge profit generators. Mainstream brands have simply included them at reasonable markups.

    Good Review I'd love to see you do the Mitsubishi Mirage soon though I kind of like it's quirky body design and so-so 3 cyl. engine. :/

  • @redav415
    @redav415 10 лет назад +2

    The Santa Fe has a fundamental styling flaw, and that's the shape of the rear-most side windows. The steep slope-up of the belt line is a plague on the auto world. Windows that come to a (near) point in the back simply need to go away.

    Alex on Autos I love your deconstruction of the vehicle videos. I am currently shopping for a crossover but being that I'm overweight 300 pounds and 5'11 I'm very limited in "belly, hip and leg room" when it comes to shopping. Any suggestions? Could you possibly review the Ford Edge? I've never been into Ford's but this Edge is slowly changing my mind. Also I have been looking at the 2014 Nissan Rogue, do you think someone my size would comfortably fit behind the wheel, I don't want to have to go test drive if I'm not even going to fit in it.
    All help would be greatly appreciated!

    I know this might not be high on anyone's list but I'd love for Alex to mention the premium stereo. I've looked for reviews on the Dimension sound system and haven't found any good ones. I want the Santa Fe Sport but I'd love to know what a professional like Alex thinks about the sound.

      PunxsutawneyDave this is probably no good to you 2 years later but I have the dimension audio system in my Santa Fe sport. It's a 650 watt system and in my opinion it's a really crisp and clear sounding system. Even at full volume everything is still clear it doesn't sound like you'll blow the speakers. Was honestly blown away by it.

    Any chance of a review of the 7 seat LWB version?I understand that it's a significantly different car from the sport, not just in size; different drive train, handling and ride. We're considering it and did our initial research online. While most reviewers gave it high marks, a few had some reservations about a 'crashy' ride when loaded, lower than expected MPG and loose trim pieces after only a short time. I want to find out if it was just these particular reviewers' early testers that had these problems or are they more widespread? Afterall, loaded up, it's a 40K car.
    Could also be 2013 (first model teething issues?) vs 2014 model differences I guess.

    Ok....first off, 11/10 points for stuffing yourself in the rear cargo area ( 13:40 ) !!! I nearly guffawed beer out of my nose! Secondly, I just bought one of these last week - 2014 Sport with 2.0T. Great vehicle so far - BUT at 147000kms, the stupid wastegate actuator shit the bed - thank Gawds for an unlimited warranty! I asked the parts guy how much this thing was and he said "$787 CAD" ...Holy shit! Aftermarket or OEM spec units are around $220 or so online. Approx an hour to swap if you know what you're doing - ie: High level mechanical aptitude folks - so there's that. Otherwise, AWESOME comprehensive review, aside from your road test - thanks!
