Full Flight: LOT Polish Airlines B787-9 Kraków to Chicago (KRK-ORD)

- Hey guys! In this full flight video, I fly back to Chicago, Illinois, USA from Kraków, Poland on a LOT Polish Airlines B787-9 Dreamliner! LOT is one of those European airlines that aren't as well known for great service and product as say Lufthansa, Swiss, and especially the middle eastern airlines. But, in recent years, they have been up and coming with the updates to their fleet with B787-8s and B787-9s as well as the B737MAX8s (before they were grounded). Their service has been improving as well. I found this flight to be overall pretty good. The flight attendants I think could've been a little nicer, but they handled the flight professionally. The food onboard I found to be good and bad - dinner was very good but the late snack pre-arrival could've been better. The cabin was very spacious with large overhead bins and the seat was comfortable with very nice legroom and plenty of amenities around the seat. The IFE is a huge plus and can provide you with great entertainment for the whole flight. If anyone needs to fly to Poland, LOT is a great option as they are the only airline to fly directly here from the US. Their flexibility options are a lot better than most other International airlines. Would definitely recommend flying LOT Polish Airlines, or at least giving them a try if you can. 2-4-2 only gives you 8 seats across. 3-3-3 gives you 9. Throughout the whole length of economy, that's many more passengers. :) Meaning many more $$$.

Nope, Warszawa, Kraków and Rzeszów are the only cities so far with direct flights to the US.

It's depends how many people traveling with you. Sometimes 2-4-2 its ok sometimes 3-3-3
For the airlines, 3 3 3 is better. :) One more seat across, meaning way more revenue.
From a passenger’s perspective, 2-4-2. A passenger should not be more than 1 seat away from the aisle. With 3-3-3 seating, 2 people have to be inconvenienced every time the window seat passenger needs to get up as opposed to 1 person for 2-4-2.

Did LOT increase their flight frequencies between these cities to like 4 times a week? I feel like they fly more often now to Chicago (as of 2023).

2-4-2 is better but if an airline wants to pack people in... they should do 2-5-2 instead of 3-3-3. Reason being in 3-3-3, only 78% of steerage is within 1 seat of aisle. In 2-5-2, 89% of steerage is within 1 seat of the aisle and the very middle seats would only be occupied on a >90% booked flight.

I think when the aircraft landed in Chicago, you guys parked next to an Etihad plane. I recognize the eagle and the design of the tail.

Why would you fly essentially a no frills airline (CHEAP) in economy class and sit most uncomfortably for 10 hours? Business class tickets on LOT is one of the least expensive!

I believe that only one gate at KRK handles International flights to the U.S. and that gate was under repair, so needed to take a bus to another

Tarmac is the surface of the runway. Which is not entirely true. Because Kraków Airport has a concrete runway, which is currently undergoing modernization.
It’s just that tarmac isn’t a real word. No one in the aviation industry says tarmac. It’s either the runway, taxiway, ramp or apron.

tydzień temu żona leciała z Wawy do NY i wejście do samolotu także po schodach z płyty lotniska. LOT po prostu oszczędza na opłatach lotniskowych

Na KRK robią teraz kawałek płyty i nie ma dostępu do wszystkich rękawów a poza tym pozostałe zajmuje lufthansa i inne linie i po prostu lot nie ma dostępu
Wiem ze napewno jak nie było remontu wcześniej to lot normalnie zajmował rękaw bo widziałem

Krakow has 800.000 inhabitants.
Thats a big city for European standard. Rzeszów is small with 200.000-300.000 inhabitants.
And there is couple millions of people living no more then 1 hour drive from Krakow airport

I took two flight from Toronto to Warszawa last year...never again. First of all LOT doesn't seem to understand the meaning of "on time departure". Four flights and every single one departed late by an average of 1.5 hours. I've flown Lufthansa, KLM, British Air, Delta, American Airlines and a few others and never have I experienced this level of repetitive delays. The so touted Dreamliner is cramped as hell and the additional foot rests made it even worse. Not sure who though of this, but is has to be the dumbest addition ever, period.
It boggles my mind why LOT would go for Boeing's Dreamliner instead of the the A350 which is wider, quieter and overall much more comfortable.
The food on board leaves quite a bit to be desired as well. I would suggest paying a bit more and flying comfortably with Delta/KLM or Lufthansa although the latter is scraping the bottom of the service quality barrel lately.
Overall LOT gets a solid 6 out 10 in my book.

Lotnisko Krakowskie, co z tobą? To lot międzykontynentalny, prowadzony przez narodowego przewoźnika, a wy traktujecie pasażerów jak bydło, wypuszczając ich na zewnącz w deszcz. No czemu nie możecie udostępnić im te korytarze??? Często latam z Krakowskiego lotniska i tylko RAZ widziałem, jak pasażerowie się korzeystają z korytarzu! Żenada!
